Yeah Flekken is so bad. Brentflrd defense overall seems a hard pass for me

Think Mings and Torres will play every game. Probably Konsa too, and Moreno when he’s fit.

Ouch, I knew Brentford faced a lot of shots last season but didn't realise they were only behind Bournemouth for shots on target conceded (4th bottom for shots conceded overall)

Bottomed. Who would you pick between Beyer and Baldock? I thought Beyer was more nailed but not so sure. All comes down to fixtures and nailedness, obviously. Fancy getting me some Cash.

From what I've read Baldock isn't nailed either, and it is only pre-season but by all accounts it sounds like SU have been pretty poor so far. What about Kabore for Luton, thought I saw a few saying he should go straight into the first XI at RB?

Yes - think he will now play less up top, but will still score from the left. And I can’t imagine a 20 year old will be starting week in week out for them, so Rashford will still get plenty of minutes up top.

Villa fan - IMO when Moreno is firing he will be one of the first names on the team sheet. Cash could start at the same time but there’s a risk Konsa plays at RB so that Moreno can bomb on - Emery likes to have one solid fullback when the other is basically a winger

Emery experimenting with Torres at LB in this game so that Cash is allowed to bomb on. Before this game I’d have said he was nailed until Moreno is back but now there’s a slight doubt - still probably ok though

Is anyone coming around the the goalkeeper rotation idea now that we’ve seen Flekken sucks?

    - Ramsdale not worth using an Arsenal slot on
    - Onana looks great but some of his opening fixtures don’t scream clean sheets

        Its darwin in a 343

Or martinelli / foden in 352 - both of who are rotation risks to some extent.

Gabriel feels naturally the 3rd best arsenal. So who gets the 7th attacker sport...a 5th mid or a 3rd striker

        Rash bruno saka 6.5
        Haaland jesus

Fair point but possible because Forest might have double up on him allowing the rest of the team
to get the five goals & guessing with 5 points he achieved an assist.

Plus with Arsenal two fixtures afterwards

          GW2 Crystal Palace (A)
          GW3 Fulham (H)

Although missed last two pens (League/friendly) most likely starting on pen duty

The fook does the word “talisman” have to do with FPL? He was last amongst Arsenal’s front 4 for xGI per 90 last season and he had pens then too.

First. Mainly because somehow Martinelli ended up with 6 less assists despite having an xGA total of 2 higher plus Jesus played 1109 minutes less than him.

            1. x.jim.x
              • 9 Years

Even if you gift Martinelli those assists, he’s still only got a couple of total GI more than Saka, despite Saka basically going on holiday for the last 10 games (as you keep reminding us).

Jesus being injured half the season is not the gotcha that you think it is.

I’m repeating myself but Rashford, Salah, Havertz, Bruno, Maddison, Jota, Mitoma, Mbeumo, Son, Eze, Antony, Jacob Ramsey, Willock, Martinelli, Tavernier, MacAllister, Garnacho, Denmark Gray, Doucoure, Enciso, McNeil, Gibbs-White, Sarabia, Jacob Murphy, Damsgaard, Almiron, Foden, Benrahma, Grealish, Bowen, Anthony Gordon, Sancho and KDB all had the same amount or more xGI/90mins in their last 10 league games of the season than Bukayo Saka had for his last 10 league games of last season. Plus he was joint last amongst Arsenal’s front 4 for xGI per 90 last season and is now more expensive than the two who outperformed him in these metrics.

He most definitely dropped off towards end of last season. It came after his rest and then a bit of a disaster owning him especially the miss v West Ham

I put a theory in that Saliba’s injury caused the disruption with the defender on saka side having to cover more defensively for holding leading to saka being isolated on his side with lack of overlaps

Who knows but his points suffered. It’s a valid argument, he’s on pens but not the best pen taker. It’s him or ode for me as they are the most nailed. Saka for some reason just appears more exciting although i could easily include havaertz

Havertz could be okay value who knows? He’s definitely a better pen taker than Saka too but Saka might still hog them. Odegaard is probably gonna be worse than Saka.

I didn’t say that - I said that he is “NOT a great FPL option”. But still better than bums like Eze and Diaby of course

Your comment implies it or why else post a completely meaningless comment then? I think you need to rethink the comment, refine it and then post a valid point instead of yeah but but all these players have better blah blah, he isn't a good FPL option. Just an observation, you can post what you want but not sure this comment that you keep posting actually makes any sense.

Of course it does. People painting him to be a better option than Bruno and Martinelli with those stats need to be brought back to reality.

He is better than Bruno. He is in a better attacking team that scored 30 more goals last season. He also got 26 more points than Bruno whilst playing 200 or so minutes less last season so not sure what logic you are using here.

My attempt at a 3-4-3 squad.
    Onana (Areola)
    Stones, Estupinan, Saliba (Baldock, Bell)
    Rashford, Saka, BrunoF, Foden (Ahamada)
    Haaland, Jesus, Darwin

Treble City, Utd + Arsenal. Jesus could be Martinelli in a 3-5-2.

Has a lot more flair than your average defensive midfielder, great from the edge of the box. One of Man Utd's better players, imo, and suspect he will tick over nicely this season.

Word of caution. Apparently Emery likes one bombing forward and other being reserved. Once Moreno comes back, the other side could be reserved which could impact Cash and there is completion with Konsa, apparently. He was in my team for 3 minutes.

4m goalkeeper Slonina is starting for Chelsea, one to keep an eye on since it won't take much for him to be better than Kepa

      from his Wiki page
"In 2023 Slonina was the only goalkeeper included on Goal's NXGN list of the 50 best young players, he's 6ft.4, but only 19

      Salah - Saka (C) - Fernandes - Kluivert
      Haaland - Watkins - Darwin
      (4m GK - Pau - Colwill - Nakamba)

My plan is to rotate all five 4.5m defenders. Risky, I know.
