Fantasy Football Scout have once again teamed up with the popular GoalScorer Challenge competition this season.

We will be giving away a Premium Membership to the best manager every month to go with the game’s £500 top prize for the campaign’s overall winner.

If you have not played before, GoalScorer Challenge is a very simple and free game. Every week you pick one player from the Premier League who you think is most likely to score. The more goals that player racks up, the more points you get. But pick wisely, as you can only select each player once per season.

There are three types of Gameweeks:

  • Premier League – Most weekends there will be a full round of league fixtures which will all be included. There are no Double Gameweeks in this game but midweek games are generally included in a separate Gameweek.
  • International – During international breaks, you still have to pick a Premier League player, but for their country. This season includes six international weeks.
  • Cup â€“ On FA Cup weekends, you are again limited to players playing for Premier League teams. The EFL Cup final will also be included as it will take place alongside a regular round of Premier League matches.

GSC is free to play and it only takes a minute to enter each week. You can create mini-leagues and play against your mates, too.

Full details, rules and entry can be FOUND HERE.

So many options in midfield but, in one of my drafts, this is one choice I’m faced with

    A) Martinelli + Danjuma
    B) Eze + Mitoma/March

(Have Saka, Rashford and Wissa for context)

    Cheers

So I go throught his every year and am always tempted to play my bench boost early. Here's the theory:

    1) You can get in 16 players who will start which gives you a bigger chance of catching those early badwagons from the off.
    2) You can tailor your team so that all 16 have really good fixtures in GW2 or 3.
    3) With the chip gone, it becomes much easier at the back end of the season to try and maximise your team for double gameweeks (it's much harder later on to pick 16 playing players who are all good options for doubles and it ends up messing up all your transfer plans).
    4) I can then for the rest of the season have only 1 (non-fodder) bench player and I can just leave them there. This freedom is an underated advantage. Late season wildcard for example can be firmly focussed on your best 11/12.
    5) Right after the chip is played, true you'll have to waste a few free transfers to release some of that money, but if you plan it right, this can be done with minimal impact.

Im interested in peoples opinion on this in general rather looking a the specific draft, but Fyi, my current draft looks like this and I would BB in GW3 with all 16 having good-great fixtures:

    Onana (Pickford)
    Gabriel Estupinian Ruben (Chil James)
    Mbuemo Rash Eze Saka Mitoma
    Haaland Wissa (Jackson)

What do people think of this plan (it has worked great for me in the past, 4/5 times I've done it with 20+ points added)

It's a valid strategy, sometimes I play it GW1 if I am certain all 16 are starters and the fixtures make it reasonable to do so

    5. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

      1. You'll have a better chance of nailing 15 starters later in the season when we have a better idea who is nailed & fit. You'll also have found better enablers, and have higher team value.
      2. You miss out on the chance to cram up to 30 fixtures into one GW.
      3. I think a stronger bench is more useful later in the season when rotation due to other competitions is more prevalent than GWs1-5

We often hear your point that if BB is "out of way", that we could then focus on having the best 11 without "worrying" about BB.

This only makes sense if we forget BB is a bonus, and if we build our late season strategy around it. We don't have to. It's a bonus, it's usually worth 10 points, so we shouldn't focus on it too much. Simply play it during a DGW when you have single GW players with good fixtures, done.

Any City option could be due to rotation / being out of favour, Arsenal/ManUtd picks could because of sharing the pts around, combination of both for Liverpool, Chelsea could flop, Brighton defence could concede regularly, etc.

I see the Bruno Rash double up everywhere. Seems risky (and expensive) to me?

I assume its because Bruno is underpriced and Rash was on fire last year, but one seems enough to me

I think that’s it. Bruno seems to good value whereas Rashford is priced about right. I’m taking the punt that Bruno gets the hauls his stats suggest and Rashford regresses but we’ll see.

If Foden starts Sunday against Arsenal he is straight in my team. 3/5/2 looking better and better with Jesus and Nkunku out + Darwin rotation but I still prefer Watkins as it stands.

Cheers, like the look of Watkins from 5 onwards. Tempted to moved Onana down to a 4.5m keeper and Henry to Meyer to free up £1m to upgrade Jackson to Jesus or Watkins a few weeks in

Until KDB is fit, I don't think Foden is really a risk. Not many options besides this in attack:
      Foden Bernardo Alvarez Grealish
      Haaland

Not sure if Kovacic is dynamic enough to play any of these roles. Unless Pep does something like play Rico Lewis as an 8, they should all be nailed short-term (I think)

Is Sanchez coming in as 1st choice or backup to Kepa?

Not sure - if he's first choice then the move unlocks two very good 4.5 options

First RMT for me for the season

    Onana Areola
    Gabriel Estu Chilwell Pau Beyer
    Salah Saka Bruno Mitoma Anderson
    Haaland Watkins Mubama

Think I'm set barring surprises. Thoughts?

Joao Pedro becomes more alluring now that there’s a viable alternative at his price
