Fully expecting Rashford and Bruno blanks and we’re all going to be rushing to buy Mason Mount after tonight.

Not worried, he's in CDM position, and never historically scored a lot of goals or assists

What? No he’s not - playing as advanced as Bruno.

On paper he’s not but I agree he will get up there.

Let’s see where he plays but I think he might steal Bruno’s more advanced positions.

Sky just put up his stats - over 20 goals or assists in the season before last 21/22 - if he can recreate that form he’ll become a United favourite.

I would love to have had in my FPL Team - cannot afford him, great signing for Manchester united - disppointed as a Chelsea Supporter.

Please ignore last season as injured & then three different managers not getting selected, World Cup mid-season did not help Mount or many others 22/23 season

      2021/2022 - 169 pts 11 goals / 11 assists (Bps - 8)
      2020/2021 - 147 pts 6 goals / 7 assists (Bps - 16)

Chelsea screwed Liverpool in every possible way. Yes, they overpaid twice, but they got players for positions they had to strengthen this summer.

I wonder what was really going on behind the scenes. LFC should have lined up replacements for Fabinho and Henderson the moment both deals progressed. They had more than enough time to prepare for this situation or simply keep them a little bit longer at the club until they sorted it all out.

And what's their plan now? Sign one or two of Fofana, Doucoure, Andre, Kone, Thuram, Sangare, Onana, Adams, or Amrabat and hope for the best. They aren't getting Tchouameni or Valverde unless they are prepared to spend crazy money on one of them.

It's not hard to admit that Chelsea are having a fantastic transfer window. Ruthless and quick clearout, followed by signing some excited and talented players. They're moving in the right direction and are building a strong yet young team.

      I absolutely hate it.

they could get palhinha for 50-60mil and he's better than everyone, even Caicedo imo (but he has more potential)

goes without saying i hope they stay far away

      1. Arteta
        • 10 Years
        3 years, 13 mins ago

Palhinha was a target last year, and so was Nunes. They proved themselves in the PL, so who knows? They are very good alternatives, but their clubs could easily demand more than £70 million for them because of their long contracts.

maybe, Fulham are willing to sell Mitro for 50mil (who has 3 years left on contract if i'm right, Palhinha has 4),can't imagine we'd demand much more for Palhinha

If I was Liverpool I'd be going after a more accomplished player rather a youngster, they need experience in their midfield. still shocked they let fabinho go, he still had 3/4 years at the top of the game barring injury

On the other hand, if Fulham bank 50m for Mitro, they can say Paulinha's not for sale this year at any price.

definitely could be true but we said the same for Mitro and he threw a bit of a strop and effectively forced Fulham to set a buy price to keep him happy enough incase he didn't leave

but like you say I'd hope we would be a bit more stubborn with Palhinha, he's almost irreplaceable for us

              • 10 Years

This is true. There's no need to sell Joao, especially now that they have less than three weeks to find an adequate replacement. We'll see what happens.

I have a feeling chelsea are buying players but do they actually have a plan on where to play them, the system they fit into and how the team sets up long term?

I don’t think so. Liverpool have been “screwed” more so in the sense now everybody knows they have over 100m to spend. They won’t panic buy, I’m surprised they went caicedo in the first place with how much he costs

I’m sure they are working behind the scenes and will wrap up a signing soon. If they can’t then klopp will have to adapt his system

      1. Arteta
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 12 months ago

They must have a long-term plan, and Pochettino should be given a season or two to make the team tick and for players to grow into his philosophy and ideas. He needs time and Boehly's trust.

Liverpool have known they will need midfield reinforcements for some time now, even if older players stay. They couldn't count on Bajcetic to play so many games at such a young age, on Thiago to stay fit, or on Jones to step up immediately.

At the end, they will be fine with whoever they sign, but being snubbed by two players in a week is a serious kick in the balls for everyone involved.

On the Monday Night Club they were saying that Liverpool have really cocked it up with Lavia - they should have sewn that up several weeks ago. Quite why he wants to go and (potentially) sit on Chelsea's bench is another matter. Caicedo always preferred Celsea.

They had three bids rejected. Southampton played hardball and insisted on £50m from the beginning. He could have been a Liverpool player a few weeks ago, if they weren't penny-pinching.
