A question for the mods maybe…

How do you check when your membership renewal is up? I’d like to take advantage of the 30% off but have no idea when my current memberships expires

Membership prices don't increase, so check your current price isn't already lower than the new offer.

This season's full price will be 30% higher than last season's, but there is currently an early season discount that allows new members to join at last season's price.
If your subscription is set to renew automatically, then your new subscription will continue at the same rate as it was before, which means that it will be at last season's price (the same as the currently discounted price for new members) if you first joined last season, or even lower if you joined earlier.

James has never been the most reliable defensively so if anything, it might help Chilwell’s CS potential depending on who replaces him.

I honestly don't get Arsenal thinking that a striker they value at 50m quid isn't good enough to replace Jesus. There's something not right here. I'm buying him as soon as he gets off the bus outside Craven Cottage, though.

Football (in terms of the sport and the business) isn't just about how "good" a player is. And a players value is not just about how good they are, either.

If James is confirmed injured for any length of time sell Shaw for a 4.5, or even a 4.0, play Gusto and go on the lash with the wedge.

How to improve this potential WC team with 1.7m ITB (without trying to fit Salah in)?

    Turner
    Chilwell Estupinan Cash
    Saka Odegaard Jota Diaz Maddison
    Haaland Nketiah

    Flekken | Jackson, Baldock, Gusto

Wanted to get rid of Estupinan early due to upcoming poor fixtures, but there aren't many defenders turning me on rn.

Are there any players you would consider under-the-radar punts or glaring omissions from my team? Tempted by Rodri and Enzo tbh. Alvarez?Gvardiol?? Also would be disappointed to be getting rid of Wissa already...

Are you suggesting that Pep knew the injury was likely but played him anyway? Even if he was more injury prone on this day than a day that he's "fully fit" (I tend to doubt that Man City believed this was much of an effect if at all), then it speaks to his importance to the team in Pep's mind, and I felt that was worth exploiting.

The other three aren't injury prone as far as I know. And all likely to get on the pitch each week. Kind of irrelevant imo

I don't think that KDB was match fit at all.

It was a breakdown of the same injury which is why it was an easy wait and see.

Even when i heard the team sheet i was surprised people were selecting him from the off.

I've read it about 3 times and still got no idea. I don't mean to be harsh but the guy is complaining about having injured players but then his reasoning is that he wanted a player because they weren't fully fit.

I don't see me complaining about having injured players. Just saying it's unlucky that 3 or 4 were injured in the same week. Surprised anyone with a basic grasp of probability would not agree. And (full) fitness isn't the same as injuries or injury proneness. The City staff evidently figured it he fitness wasn't going to be a likely contributor to injury

If a manager picks a player who is not fully fit, they will be even more likely to play when they are fully fit.

As for the injury side of things, I'm no expert, but Man City does have experts and people with the relevant information to make a decision on him playing. So I could only assume that he was no more injury prone on this day than any other for him, and that proneness is already built into his price. A price that is now more likely to rise than fall as people could end up scrambling to get him in now that they see he's playing and only going to get better in the short-midium term

But it doesn't take a genius to work out that De Bruyne wasn't going to be 100% fit to play therefore would probably not be at his best

KDB is always likely to play though? So you think his price is now going to rise and you're selling him on your WC? I'm lost, good luck with the WC team though!

I accept that he might not be at his best. Entirely irrelevant to the discussion. Actually, he was heavily involved and influential from what I saw of his short time on the pitch. Same as the community shield.

@WVA Obviously I am referring to the situation at the time that I picked KDB (when the leak came out of him starting): "A price that is now more likely to rise than fall as people could end up scrambling to get him in now that they see he's playing and only going to get better in the short-medium term"

He wasn't likely to play. It was a surprise, so there are a lot of potential owners who have gone without him - who will later want him.

There's also a likely growing narrative that this City team are (and need to) grow away from the aging and injury-prone KDB. So seeing him start despite low fitness (supposedly), who counter that narrative and potentialy spike sales with a new narrative that KDB is essential to City right now (in Pep's mind).

I must be writing terribly, as this is all pretty basic and obvious in my mind haha

Injury liklihood is part of price as well, hence value and opportunity in more risky picks

If James is out for a while then perhaps.

But if Trossard is likely to start then a transfer or too would be fine, nless you really want Salah, which I don't think k is worth it

Could go either way. Personally would move Flek, Hav, and Tross in addition to the crocked lads, so there are enough moves to justify WC. But also agree with others that you could just take -4 to sort James and Kev and address rest over time. GL!

Just prefer Johnstone. Or you could punt on possible upside with Sanchez. Also, Rico Henry is available (with some attacking threat) as route to Brentford defense.

Looking at Henry now, but doesn't rotate well with Baldock, if I'm keeping him. I wish I just stuck with Leno after having him the whole preseason until FPL deadline day. Ah well, I'll take a look at Johnstone. Cheers!

      I'd hold Estupinan.

He's probably value across the season...

      Sanchez over Flekken.

What's your thinking on Cash? I'm having some second thoughts on Villa defensively.

Jota has some doubts. I'd prefer Martenelli but you do have Ødegaard too.

I'd also go with a 7.5 up front as well as a 5.5 and the big man.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years

Cash is more of a panic buy to fill a spot I'm clueless about. I do remember him having at least one good chance and decent xG, and I'm mixing in some optimism from Sir Alex saying how promising they are 😀

I have 3 Arsenal already, so someone would have to go for Martinelli. I prefer Odegaard and Nketiah as pick atm, and maybe, for my sins, even Havertz. SHOOT ME! would probably still Have Martin in my team if we allowed 5 players from each team though. Decent enough value for sure.

So you would not go for Jackson? Who's 7.5? Gakpo?

I have never seen anyone si unlucky though. KDB/James were risky I guess.

I wouldn't have double Brighton Defence. I'd also just go Salah if you were to WC with Maddison and maybe a richarlison double up?

Bougainvillea for Fulham could be a great 4.5and Archer in the move. I like Diaby for the next too.

        Just my thoughts

KDB & James were poor picks given their status. Coupled with bad luck it should come as no surprise your team is in such a poop state. It does come with an element of schandenfreude given your outspoken views on this site pre-season.

My defence is Estupinian, Saliba , Chilwell Gusto and Karobe

    It is Saliba or Gusto

    But have Eze.

Is it better to go Gusto (if he is nailed) over Saliba if you have Eze or just play your strongest XI even if they may cancel each other out. I suppose I'm Eze blanks again it doesn't matter
