On WC, 3.1m ITB, a few price rising placeholders in still for now. What changes would you make?

    Leno Areola
    Dias Cash Udogie (Gusto Estupiñán)
    Son Saka Maddison Diaz Mbuemo
    Haaland Ferguson Archer

Diaz Ferguson —> Bruno Nunez leaves 0.9m ITB - good changes?

Like it. I wouldn't have Son and Maddison though, maybe pick one and try another pick in midfield as there are plenty to choose from

& which way would you lean on Son v Maddison?

Rank these GK best to worst please. I have Pickford and Turner who is apparently not nailed due to the new signing.

      A) Alisson
      B) Ederson
      C) Sanchez
      D) Flekken

As they are in general. For FPL, probably BDC/A.

Thanks. I would choose between Son and Maddison due to fixtures. I'd keep Maddison first as we're not sure of Son's involvement as a n9 yet and if he does perform you can do a combo move in a few weeks. I would try and fit Chilwell ahead of Estupinan and even Dias. I would also try and fit Bruno in as Man U have good fixtures and he's got one of the highest xGI in the game.
Ferguson is a good punt but poor fixtures I rather have Alvarez instead.

Eze, did that on wildcard. rate the fella but was so infuriating owning him for weeks over Mbuemo / Maddison / Diaby etc, don’t think Palace are clinical enough to warrant his selection

    Current Team, 2FT's, 3.7m ITB

    Turner
    Estupiñan Chilwell Cash
    Mbeumo Rashford Foden Saka Eze
    N.Jackson Haaland

    Johnstone João Pedro Baldock Kaboré

Eze, Jackson, Pedro >> Son, Alvarez, Ferguson (-4) leaves me 0.8 ITB if someone sees a better combo? Though its a -4 gives me a very strong first sub to cover Foden.

Just do Salah to Son, you'll not regret it, Liverpools points are too spread out now to own Salah, better off owning Diaz. Son playing the no.9 is huge and you'll not miss Salahs 5pointers and missed penalties when Son hauls double digits

Great article, I had no idea Brighton broke their wage structure just for Fati, seems a bit crazy given it's for a loan but at the same time I can get the sense in it since you can nearly write it off as a one-off loan fee since it's just for a year. Also de Zerbi just seems like too genuine a person sometimes to be a football manager. Saying it's a manager's responsibility to do everything to help the game have great players (even knowing they won't be playing for you long-term) is too wholesome. I even remember seeing him going up to Mudryk after the game at Stamford Bridge and embracing him, I mean he pulled off a big win and you'd think that'd be all he would think about but instead he prioritises talking to a former player knowing he's struggling in a new country and team

I'm a Brighton fan and absolutely in love with RDZ - the passion and purity he's brought into the club has been incredible, and it's really lifted the place after the frustration losing Potter to C*****a. There's a video of him celebrating in the dressing room after EL qualification was secured - gold.

I hope Fati's wage situation doesn't upset the applecart. I read that it's a £7m investment for the season, which, in comparison to the money coming in this summer isn't that much - if it leads to another top 6 then it will have paid off.

WC, here we go! What do you think?

        Leno (Areola)
        Walker, Cash, Udogie (Colwill, Mengi)
        Saka, Son, Maddison, Diaby (Mbuemo)
        Haaland, Alvarez, Watkins

        £ 0,5m ITB

Aston Villa has luxury fixtures, so I'll try to take advantage of it.

If it doesn't work, I'll focus on the Brighton players (Estu, Mitoma, March…) in a couple of weeks (better fixtures).

        1. The Mentaculus
          • 4 Years

I wonder if you might be 3 weeks too early on the double Villa attack, so would suggest patience (with Watkins particularly) if you do want to load up now, rather than doing something like Diaby - Mitoma "if it doesn't work... in a couple of weeks". But I do like it - myself, I'm on Digne & Diaby for now with an eye on Watkins from GW8. Also the attacking threat from LB position is far greater than that of the RB in Emery's system so I wouldn't expect too much of that from Cash unless he somehow ends up RW again. It is more complicated with Moreno likely to take over from Digne in a few weeks though

          1. Mirec007
            • 2 Years

Thanks for your reply! 😉 So, Is it better to invest in another defenseman (instead of Cash)?

If yes, which one? Digne, Botman, Henry or…?

            1. The Mentaculus
              • 4 Years

Moreno has been out for months for surgery so its hard to say exactly when he'll be ready to take over from Digne - maybe around GW8 at a guess. If you don't mind booking in a transfer around then I'd go with Digne. If that seems too short-term for you then Henry is a good alternative

I’m afraid of rotation. Sure, next match (against Wolves) he will start, but what then…? Jota, Gakpo, Diaz, Darwin - 4 players for 2 spots.

Watkins is more confident, I think.

Prefer Awoniyi to Alvarez for 8th attacker.

Not keen on Colwill. Chelsea haven't looked solid at the back and he offers little attacking threat. Also could be some risk of rotation when Badiashile is fit.

Id also keep Estu if possible.

I have a selection dilemma this coming GW:

I am not making any transfers, so have to play Flekken NEW(A) or Areola MCC(H) in goal...

If you think about it, it is a tough decision, can anyone give me a good reason to pick one?

Both will concede. I don't see West Ham conceding too many for it to be a really bad score for Areola. Can benefit from all those saves though.

Thanks, that's my thinking at the moment, the only downside is if City are on song, those SOT saves could all be goals. 😀

City likely to be more clinical I expect. Brentford should have a higher xCS % too. I'd definitely go for Flekken
