    GW8 - roll
GW9 - Estupinan to Cash or Schar (have Botman)

GW 11 - Mbeuno to Gordon or Doucoure

Hi, all. I used my Wildcard last week and my free transfer this week; I like my team fine, although my midfield is too thin. My instinct is to exchange Eze for Gordon next week, although I'm slightly considering a -4 hit. I'm also not sure about what to do with Mbeumo in W8 or W9: I think I can get up to Maddison, but am open to other suggestions. I'm also undecided as to whether I should start Ederson or Areola. Any help appreciated, thank you!

    Trippier Schar Cash (Estupinan) (Udogie)
    Salah Mbeumo Diaby Ward-Prowse (Eze)

Bailey seems to be injured so it'll either be Cash or Zaniolo RW. Looks like Zaniolo was the straight swap last night (?) but I didn't see it. On a closer look, with Diego Carlos still out, I'm not sure they have enough options at the back to move Cash forward; doubt he'll start Chambers RB or Pau & Lenglet CBs

But if Konsa plays RB, he has only 2 other CBs (Pau & Lenglet), both lefties, neither with the physicality of Konsa... doesn't seem like a good balance. I think he'd need Diego Carlos in the middle to enable Konsa RB & Cash RW

I think the key if you get Salah is too captain him some weeks and I don't know if I want to captain Salah over Haaland so I will have to think about it.

Fair enough. I captained Salah in GW2 and there are a couple of weeks coming up when I’ll do the same - but understand your view

  13. PascalCygan

Latest wildcard idea. I’m keen on Darwin as I know a few others are - but I’m happy to wait until GW9.

I don’t want to sacrifice Salah but I think I’m willing to sacrifice Trippier to make it happen.

One potential option is to wildcard to a squad with enough money in the bank to upgrade Morris to Darwin.

The money in the bank could also be used to upgrade the placeholder/enabler in midfield. Doucoure in this case, who is a decent bench option and a potential starter next two weeks.

Whatever I choose, I want to save a FT in GW8.

Does keeping money in the bank for a potential Darwin upgrade make sense, or would you just upgrade Doucoure right away and use 2FTs to bring in Darwin in GW9?

I'd advise against Doucoure, as a Toffee. He's among their best offensive options at the moment, but in real life is wildly inconsistent from game to game. I also suspect Luton might be a trap game. I'm high on Darwin, but think you can wait a couple weeks.

Thanks. Reluctant to back an attacking Everton asset for obvious reasons but thought he might suffice as bench cover for two weeks. Might look elsewhere though. Thanks for the input - good luck in FPL and the actual PL!

I'm bringing in Darwin this week (don't have Salah yet though). I think if you do WC now just stick him in. The next 2 fixtures are tough but not especially impenetrable defences. Think the Darwin-Salah combo could be huge - its expensive & requires sacrifices but I keep looking for ways to get there. Wouldn't bother with short-term punts on Morris & Doucoure

Agree on the fixtures. International break might be a fly in the ointment but potential could be huge.

If it was Bowen and Morris for two weeks, worth considering and bringing in Darwin after that for 2FTs?

        1. The Mentaculus
          • 4 Years
          2 years, 2 months ago

Bowen doesn't quite swing it for me either. A pretty good option generally but if its only 2 GWs & one is Newcastle (A) then you're basically hoping for another SHU capitulation. With Bowen scoring in all the away games, and SHU's evident weakness being defending set pieces, I think JWP might be the play there. (Although tbf Bowen's header at the weekend was much more impressive than the Luton one).

But if you really want to wait a couple weeks, its not really a big deal. Just hope you don't run into a bunch of other IB issues

    Turner (Johnstone)

Trippier - Botman - Beyer - Udogie (Chilwell)

    Rashford - Bruno - Saka - Maddison - Mbeumo

    Haaland (Jackson - Osula)

    0.7 ITB - 1 FT

Chilwell, Jackson and Saka are problems. I might just roll since my favoured replacements for Chilwell (Cash) and Jackson (Watkins/Darwin) don't have good fixtures this week and another week of info can't hurt. If Saka is out, then I'm leaning towards selling him for Son since Son's the highest ceiling option out of him, Cash and Watkins/Darwin and I can play Jackson next week before replacing him in GW9, I'd change Chilwell for Cash next week. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

Word of caution for potential Darwin buyers.

He plays Brazil 2 days before gw 9 fixture vs Everton which is a Saturday lunchtime kick off.

He doesn’t usually start after IBs and this is an even short turnaround. Plays Spurs and Brighton before that.

Watching Brighton and Spurs not defendung and how well Liverpool attacks, not sure that's reason to not advocate buying Darwin. The caution for the quick turn around is a good reason. But he will play in that game and if he starts vs Spurs and Brighton it could be ugly. They can't defend, or rather, they don't want to defend..

    RMWCT

    Areola - Turner
    Estupinan - Schar - Cash - Burn - Kabore
    Salah - Son - Foden - Bowen - Gordon
    Haaland - Watkins - Archer

    0.4m in the bank.

    Plans ahead -

    GW 8 - Foden ➡ Maddison
    GW 9 - Save
    GW 10 - Maddison + Gordon + Schar ➡ Martinelli + Mitoma + Brainthwaite for -4
    GW 11 - Burn ➡ Gabriel

Not thinking beyond this. I know things may change but it’s better to have a plan to catch all the fixture swings.

This WC and future plan helps get players with good fixture blocks for the next 15 gws or so. Thoughts? 🙂

I'd drop Bruno for Saka in a heartbeat, but I don't think I can afford Salah Son Saka Maddison (+ Diaby), so at the moment what I'm considering is a short hop-off from Saka to at least have Salah for GWs 9-11

Seems like everyone on a WC is going for A over B and I don't get why. Trippier has had attacking returns in one game and is a good option but for 6.5 you can do a lot. Watkins has better fixtures and minutes than Alvarez.

    A) Alvarez JWP/Gordon and Trippier
    B) Watkins Bowen and Burn

Did you spend a lot of time trying to figure out the obvious error / conundrum ?

      A
      B
Forget C. He's one yellow from suspension

Depends how many GWs you are looking at. I wouldn't let Gordon on 4 YCs put you off as long as you have bench cover for his 1 match suspension

Any West Ham viewers that can say is more attacking between JWP and Bowen? Logic says Bowen should be a better prospect

No. Paqueta/JWP (or maybe Benrahma if on the pitch)

He said they’re alike. Not exactly the same in every single way.

Think he’s referring to their positions in any case.

From open play, Bowen has higher goal threat. JWP more likely to get returns from set pieces
