Saka wasn't at 100% against Bournemouth or later versus Lens, and he won't be at 100% for Man City either, even if he makes it. I thought it was stupid to start him on Saturday (https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2023/09/30/villa-v-brighton-team-news-mitoma-estupinan-start/?hc_page=14&hc_sort_by=comment_date#hc_comment_26141030), and I haven't changed my mind after he scored. He could be subbed on at the end for a few minutes if they genuinely cared about a club record of consecutive PL appearances.

Now he was taken off twice due to different injuries in four days, but people will still write nonsense about how he should start on Sunday no matter what. The manager gambled with his health in the last week, and as a result, he may not play in the most important match of all three. So silly and entirely avoidable. Feel free to disagree with me, but it would be better to lose a few points instead of one of your best players.

I agree. Not an Arsenal fan but thought Bournemouth away was a match that could've be won without Saka. No need to risk him when he only trained on Friday & wasn't 100%.
I have a feeling he'll play vs city (after painkilling injections) take him off right at the end with an injury & rest for international bream
But if arteta does carry on flogging him then it wouldn't surprise if Saka got a serious that keeps him out for a prolonged period

yeah but they needed saka on to delegate penalty duties, it think next up it was gabriel, he probabaly needed a pick me up after being dropped early on in the season

Are you going to be so bitter for the rest of the week? You're just extremely frustrated because Liverpool were robbed and lost in the last minute, Saka didn't score an imaginary hat-trick you'd want to see, and you got Udogie off the bench instead of Andersen. These are just three things that have ruined your mood in the past few days, among others.

Take it out. Take it all out. I think a short break from FFS would do you wonders, but do what you think is best.

lol are you actually arteta? so protective. youve chosen that avatar. AGAIN i repeat: i dont really care about fpl , i enjoy it but not like the obsessives on here. can you deal with that? its not about saka getting a hatrick and a huge haul. dont care., im a football fan first and it just looks like a bad idea to do what they are doing especially at only two nil. even hardcore gunner troy townsend on football weekly said the same.

      Agree.
They should be beating Bournemouth and Lens all day without him (and as you say, if this appearance record means anything then give him a few mins at the end)
Now possibly gonna miss (or not be fully fit for) one of the most important matches of their season.

Does anyone know if Tottenham’s defence is relatively settled? Will Perišić return disrupt anything, for example?

Perisic was used at LW anyway. Initially there were some fears that Ange might rotate Porro for Emerson for extra defensive solidity in games like ARS/LIV but evidently that's not his style. Both Udogie & Porro look equally nailed now so I'd go for Porro. Can't see Ben Davies or Emerson getting a look in (Sessegnon perhaps has an outside chance of feauturing when he recovers)

If Son or Cash rise even once I can't do Estupinan + Saka to those two. Do the transfers now or wait until UCL and Europa games have been played? I usually wait until deadline day to make my transfers. Thinking Pau Torres as my Cash back-up if I'm priced out.

Always have a backup. Early transfers with all these unforseen injuries happening is a pain.

If I did not decide to go early on Chilwell > Botman last week, I could have been better of not having to take a hit.

He was a good ball playing goalkeeper in a slower league that doesn't high press.

He's always looked dodgy to me when it comes to the goalkeeping basic of keeping the ball out of the net. How he went down for the Icardi goal was laughable.

he had a great champions league final against one of the the best pressing teams in the world. players dont forget how to play football all of a sudden, theres various reasons for it. personal issues etc, thats out of united's control (to a point) but doubts about ownership, scandals left right and center, a defence that never plays with the same back four and an overall bad energy around the club isnt going to help a players confidence either

This is pure revisionism - it was widely agreed he'd put in a quality performance. On socials, I saw that clip of him stepping into midfield and playing Lukaku through more than the Rodri winner.

He's having extremely yin/yang performances at the minute. Look at the Bayern game - some brilliant saves, but ultimately an awful howler that cost the result. The defence is stitched together at the minute, which is nightmare fuel for a keeper - especially one that likes to sweep. I assume it's down to lack of communication (or maybe even tactics) why he seems glued to his line recently.

People seem to have forgotten how bad De Gea was in his first season (when we were title-winners) and some have definitely forgotten how bad he was before he left.

That Icardi attempt was like prime Gordon Banks compared to whatever it was he was doing against Awonyi? in the Forest game where he just sat down.
The fact that he cannot pass out either is hilarious.

"Onana explained that he had accidentally taken his pregnant wife's medicine by mistake and would appeal the decision."
Just utter clown car stuff, but hey he shouted at Maguire one time so he has credit in the bank with Utd fans still.

Hoping to avoid wildcard this week if I can as I would prefer to play it next week. Assuming Saka is out what do you prefer:

    A) Saka > Diaz (play Morris)
    B) Saka & Baldock > Diaz & Porro -4 (bench Morris)
    C) Saka & Fernandes > Anderson & Salah - 4

    Current team:
    Onana
    Trippier / Colwill / Estupinan
    Saka / Son/ Fernandes / Neto / Mbuemo
    Haaland / Watkins

    Turner / Morris / Gvardiol / Baldock

Sterling has a virus didn’t he?

& no love for Liverpool with those fixtures?

True, but without him they actually managed to score some goals.

No issue with Liverpool, if Diaz was the Diaz that first came into the league would have him in a shot, but not back there yet.

Bowen over Diaz. Minutes and form plus great fixtures.

It looks like Saka is going to be flagged every freaking GW, what a pain to own him now.

Saka is becoming a minutes risk now. He very well will start vs City but if his fitness issues are serious and keeps on being played, soon he may be out for the forseeable.

    Pickford Turner
    Estu Trippier Udogie Botman Baldock
    Odegaard Maddison Saka Rashford Mbeumo
    Haaland Alvarez Morris

    1FT, 0.4 ITB

    What to do...?

Who should I include on WC??

    1) Saka, not fully fit against Man City
    2) Fully fit Maddison against Luton

I guess 2) is pretty obvious but I really don't want to go without Saka. What should I do?

With Saka's fixtures for the next couple and his injury concerns, Maddison is the better option. You could always leave the money in the bank to get Saka in GW10 or 12 if it turns out the injury isn't as serious and he's back to being fully fit.

This. Also on WC and taking a 2 week punt on Diaz probably, with enough funds itb to switch to Saka in GW10 (assuming he's fit). Otherwise can stick with Diaz for a few more weeks with those tasty fixtures ahead.

Make a plan to bring him back in GW10 or GW12...

Already used WC. Got Gordon suspended, Bell flagged and only Estup (LIV) to cover Saka. Should I be transferring one of Saka or Gordon out even if short term?

I’d originally planned to sell Mbuemo although wouldn’t surprise me if he hauls against a very poor United.

Morning all, on WC and with Salah it means I can only have 2 from the following. Who are the priorities?

    A) Trippier
    B) Maddison (have Son)
    C) Watkins (have Diaby)
    D) Bowen (have JWP)

Yeah I think so - United so bad, but no harm in giving him another OK fixture

I would - would hopefully give clarity over Saka and you can build in some WHU/Brighton for their fixtures from GW10.

Yeah have saka too but Maddison and no Son and that's a huge worry not having Son v Luton

    Help very much appreciated -
Would you take a hit bringing in Cash for Botman, or go with either Estu/Bayer for GW8 and possibly 9 (and which one?)

Would probably just play Estu for now. Not sure a hit for defender worth it

Cheers - that's where I'm leaning. I ended up with a -1 across my back three last week (Estu, Diaz, and Beyer auto for Botman)

Thoughts on WC idea? Benching headache with JWP, but he's available if Nunez game fails. Can also shift Nunez out and upgrade JWP to Bowen or Saka later too.

    Areola
    Tripper Cash Udogie
    Son Maddison Diaby Luis Diaz
    Haaland Watkins Nunez

    Subs: Turner, JWP, Andersen, Lampety

      Happy going without Salah?

Per my post above, I think it’s Diaz and the 4 I list or Salah plus 2 of these.
