    Turner Areola
    Cash Trippier Tarkowski Udogie Kabore
    Salah Son Bowen Neto Diaby
    Alvarez Haaland Archer

Exact money for this. Worth downgrading Tarkowski to someone less than 4.4 to have more wiggle room? If so, whom?

Well, according to Zerbi (read the article above), Estu will be out for a long time but Lamptey can play instead.

Maybe not a must-have for Liverpool but could be an interesting player for around 4.0

After a bit of chopping and changing over the last few days - wouldn't mind some thoughts on the below WC team. Little bit different from the 'template' with Diaz over Salah and taking a punt on TAA who I think could be a great differential with Liverpool fixtures coming up.

    Areola Turner
    TAA Trippier Guehi Cash Turner
Son Maddison Diaz JWP 4.4 mid
    Haaland Watkins Alvarez

Thanks mate. He is pricey but I think he could really shine in this run of fixtures - I think Liverpool can start to pick up clean sheets and will have a lot of fire in the bellies after the Spurs game!

Yep. Liverpool's defensive stats are actually quite good considering the fixtures and the red cards they've had across a few different games.

I quite like it, I'm on WC and thinking I want at least 2 Liverpool players. It's just which of the other forward players are nailed. How confident are you on Diaz? I like him as a player so if it wasn't for that I'd be very keen on it.

GW options this week are no moves or a hit but feel if I don’t lose Bruno now I never will:

    B) Bruno (BRE) and Burn (whu) if Saka misses out

I made early transfers this week that didn't even catch price rises, and still have estupinan. Absolutely amateur FPL stuff.

But now I am kind of stuck with him this week, i think I will .ost likely end up keeping him until he returns. He'll miss the Liverpool and man City games and I guess might be back for Everton and a good run of fixtures after that. Possibly even returning in time for Fulham.

To me a month "more or less" sounds like it'll be at least 4 games, especially given it's muscular. Take into account him likely needing a game or so to get fit enough to start again and I'd wager it'll be nearer 5

Considering a non-Haaland WC - hear me out.

A lot of WCs on here have Watkins and Haaland upfront. Using this as a starting point, I’m debating whether the 7m freed from switching Haaland to Alvarez is worth it.

    Assumptions:
    1. Haaland scores an average of 7.6 points per game. This happens to be his average last season and this season so far, and feels conservative enough to assume over a tougher fixture period.
    2. Alvarez scores an average of 6.1 points per game. He’s played an average of 85 mins per game this season. His average points per 85 mins last season was 6.1 and his average this season is 6.6. Again, feels appropriate to assume the lower over a tougher fixture period.
    3. Assume the comparison team perma captains Haaland, so gets 15.2 points per gameweek from him.
    4. The 7m freed from your Haaland -> Alvarez pick allows you to upgrade for example Neto to Salah.
    5. Assume our non-Haaland captain scores an average of 7.0 points per game. With Salah averaging 6.3 points across all games this season and last, and Son averaging 7.3 per game so far this season, an average of 7.0 from our rotating captain over decent fixture periods for both feels reasonable.

So Haaland(C) scores 9.1 more than Alvarez per gameweek. Our captain score 7.0 per gameweek. That means we have to make more than 2.1 points per game from the upgrade from Neto to Salah. Neto is averaging 5.4 points per game so far this season and averaged 3.5-4.5 per 90 in over the last 3 seasons. For me, it’s slightly better than 50/50 that Salah outscores Neto by more than 2.1 per game in the upcoming run. Convinced?

I am starting to seriously think about it. My WC is 3-4-3 so for me it's basically Haaland+Neto Vs Darwin + Saka (possibly with a 2 week punt on someone else before getting Saka back) - and a better bench. I could even get TAA, but not sure that is an upgrade.

So far this season, though Haaland + Neto has outscored Darwin + Saka. Can I convince myself that's likely to change over the next few? Fixtures support it maybe, but City are probably getting stronger as players come back from injury.

Don’t just use the Salah/Neto comparison in isolation. You can fit Salah, Haaland, Son, Saka etc. into a squad and not have to make huge sacrifices elsewhere.

I admire your gumption, I’ve looked into it a lot and, at the moment at least, have concluded it ain’t worth the hassle.

    4. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

I get the idea behind it but I'm just not viewing these fixtures as so difficult as many are suggesting, I think they'll mostly arguably suit City more as less of these sides are likely to sit in and defend deep. He does look a little off colour at the minute but he had a spell like that last season and came back again not long after it began. Another consideration you need to make is getting him back in if you've spread the money (especially if you're not wanting to lose Salah) and how problematic it will likely be

One of my issues with this, which no one really seems to be acknowledging, is that you assume you're getting the "same" Salah as last season... I don't think that's the case. He just doesn't really look like scoring from open play at the moment (the stats bear this out), and this is my major issue with captaining him. I'm not sure about your numbers anyway as surely we'd be hoping for more than 6.3 PPG from Salah (C) during this upcoming phase

Why would they make an exception for Liverpool now? And what would it mean for the future of football? How many replays per season could clubs even manage to play with the ongoing hectic schedule?

In a similar position, I assume you're team value is fairly close to mine (101.1), you might be a bit higher. If you're squeezing in Haaland, Salah, Son, Watkins and Trippier you're 11th man is going to be a bit shaky. Luiz is doing alright but is on 4 yellows, could go down to Hamer to free up funds? At least you have 4 bench players that will probably play so I quite like that.

This whole Salah debate is driving me insane. Already used wildcard and if I get him now it really effects the balance.

    Current team
    Leno (areola)
    Cash, botman, udogie (gusto, estu)
    Rash, saka, son, madds, mbuemo
    Alvarez, haaland, (archer)

Got to get a Def this week due injury's so.

    B. Estu and rash to trips and Bowen which allows me to go Watkins the week after

Honestly both are good options. It's a 50/50 call you are going to have to make at the end of the day - but would would you be selling for Watkins? (Archer?)

Mbeumo can move to Diaby/Bowen/JWP for you too eventually.

I have the Salah/Taylor option currently (Salah is hard for many to stretch to) but think the other one can also score just as well if not better.

Salah is a great way of using up the whole bank. I'm just worried how limiting it is to the rest of the team.
Having Salah means a fair few sacrifices to the rest of the squad.
Without Salah means he is the only sacrifice
