Spurs will be without Bissouma, Maddison, Van de Ven and Romero for Villa, it’ll be Spurs on the end of a battering.

I'm still likely captaining next week, Villa will give away too many chances. May be a sell afterwards though

I'm giving him next game week at least, Villa not the same force away from home particularly in the crunch games, they took a good tonking from Liverpool and Newcastle.

As above, I feel like he's a strong captaincy candidate against Villa. If he looks quiet and isolated again in such a perfect fixture for him, then I'll start to consider alternatives. Hope that Ange will play Lo Celso / Bentancur in a more Maddison-esque role to get someone a bit closer to him

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
        • 5 Years

I wonder why Lo Celso wasn't used yesterday, especially when I thought I read he was being used in his role with the rest of the first XI in his spot in training a few times in recent weeks when Maddison wasn't training. Maybe another fitness issue and was only available for a few minutes

          • 4 Years

Yeah probably fitness was the issue for both. I'm inclined to trust that Ange wants to retain that Maddison role but perhaps just didn't have the right personnel available yet

He can drop 0.1 and it doesn't matter for me. He plays home vs Aston Villa, I don't feel like selling for Saka. And I can afford selling Bowen to Saka also. With Arsenal you never know who is going to haul, they scored more last season imo. But hopefully we get article and are going to be spoonfed 😉

Think it is time to abandon ship, yes. Spurs looked hopeless.

Villa will be very keen to exploit their weakness, especially in midfield.

Will be sold by many. Maddison out is going to weaken attack, but not as much as many think. Romero and Udogie back will help a lot also in attack as problem yesterday wasn't just Madd, but the total changes in the team. Villa home is a good fixture regardless of injuries, but then I think it could be a case to sell. On the positive note, he's on pens almost with 100% certainty while Maddie is out.

Selling Alvarez to bring in Gordon ( and a plan for Mbuemo) is going to hurt me isn't it. Poor FPL management from me in hindsight. I deserve punishment

The decision making process was alright. You knew Gordon would play and knew he might play up top, and knew he was playing one of the worse defences.
It was only the outcome that failed, so don't be too hard on yourself.

I sold Alvarez for Nketiah 😉 Alvarez underlying stats vs Burnley were good, but before that really not. Also I have feeling that he has started play deeper than he used to, but didn't bother to check heat maps. I am still uncertain of correct formation.

It was meant to be quite short term punt to attack Burnley defense. I have quite strong squad which is basically 5-4-3 where Nakamba is 5th mid. All defenders are naturally not fixture proof though and Tsimikas is biggest liability and Andersen concern after yesterday.

During first 6 matches Alvarez had only once xGi below .49 (vs New) and after that only vs Burnley did he have it over that value. Easy to calculate more precise numbers, but fixtures aren't getting better either. If people have been able to sell Haaland, Alvarez is hardly more important.

Thanks, that’s a helpful breakdown. I like to stick with season keepers but as you say, I’m not sure Alvarez is that, with his output seemingly tailing off in recent weeks. Let’s see how he goes today ( if he plays) but Watkins is my preference and I’ve just got to take the plunge at some point

        Not even Haaland in 16?

Son and Salah failed there. Bowen got a pretty lucky goal when he scored there earlier this season. I have watched all the Luton home matches bar when Wolves played there.

I need to get Haaland back first but no, once he is back, I won't be capping Haaland away to Luton. Doku is the type of player you would want to triple cap for that match. He is going to steam roll the Luton defence.

I think they are. They still give up plenty of XGC and are still conceding at least a goal a game. They've shown they're capable of conceding three and four goals three times so far. Kasminski can't keep bailing them out for ever.

      1. FOO FIGHTER

Luton have a small pitch which means they can keep things tight at home and they make it really diffucult for the opposition playing a fluent passing game.

There is every chance City can go there and wipe the floor but I would not bet on it.

Most weeks my team doesn't look that bad in paper, but not doing well! 50/50 transfer/C decisions wrong

    GW8 Son 3 C (Salah15 VC)
    GW9 haaland 8 C (Son 14 VC)
    G10 Salah 8 C ( haaland 16 VC)
This GW captained Salah & VC haaland so..

Anyway 1.7 mil rank. I've not taken a hit, but do I do a -8 or -12 to sort out team below & go back to 3-5-2?

    Areola/Turner (1.7 ITB)
    Cash/Gabriel*/tsimikas*/lascelles/kabore*
    Salah/Son/bowen/diaby*/ahamad*
    Haaland/Watkins/Alvarez*

He was never really going to go to ManUtd let's be honest. If Levy wanted £100m from Bayern for him, he would have demanded £150m from ManUtd. He was desperate for him to not go to a rival club, so much so that he managed to get a buy-back clause inserted so that Spurs can match any bid that any other PL club makes for him that is accepted in the future

Rumour was going on a free summer 2024 with agreement in place, until United purchased Hojlund.
Don’t forget Levy screwed him over going to City & pay backs a bitch, oh & the buy back is not factual Kane mentioned it in an interview.

            • 5 Years

Then why did Levy confirm to Spurs fans that the clause exists (as well as Sky reporters confirming it)?

Bayern will notify Spurs is all ‘gentleman's agreement’ but if you remember the agreement Kane thought he previously had with Levy good luck 😉

“If they have proposals or bids, specifically from Premier League clubs, Tottenham will receive a formal call from Bayern to be informed of the situation. Tottenham will then have the possibility to match any proposals, but nothing changes on the player side, because ultimately Kane will be the one who decides his future, not Spurs or any other club. It’s a kind of gentleman’s agreement between Bayern and Tottenham to give them the opportunity to match beds in the future, but, again, only if Bayern decide to sell the player.

“So, to repeat, there is a possibility, but not a guarantee for Tottenham to bring their former star player back in the future, as the final decision will be with Kane.”
