Is trent essential on gw20 wildcard? I get he’s been on a great run but fixture run coming up doesn’t look brilliant - is he worth getting vs having players like nkunku and odegard in the team?

fair enough. just going by the last 5 matches for liverpool which endo has started all of them and they look more solid having a proper 6 there. even if that player isnt world class.

      Yes IMO
When TAA and Liverpool are on form he’s the best asset in the game arguably
Today is a good example - not his best game but still walks away with 3 bonus

Thought the decisions for both disallowed goals were tbh. No angle/replay showed Darwin making contact with Taylor in the buildup to Gakpo’s goal. Taylor didn’t appeal either. Refs trying to make the game all about them as per.

dislike var so much now, killing my enjoyment of matches so stop start and just at the point you can hardly celebrate any goal.

      Senegal. 6/1.
      Algeria. 13/2.
      Ivory Coast. 7/1.
      Morocco. 7/1.
      Cameroon. 8/1.
      Egypt. 9/1.
      Nigeria. 10/1.
      Tunisia. 10/1.

      Japan. 5/2.
      Qatar. 5/1.
      Australia. 5/1
      South Korea. 6/1
      Saudi Arabia. 6/1.
      Iran. 6/1.

Not my opinion and I couldn't give you one as I don't watch them. However these are the bookies odds. Statistically they expect both to reach the quarters with South Korea more likely to go further.

Similar to above, if they pass the quarters I'd say they miss 24 anyway, irrespective if they make the final.

AFCON semis are both on the 7th, Salah's game is on the 10th. He'd have to play the game, finish, travel home and be ready 48 hours later.

AFC semis are on the 6th and 7th. If Korea come 1st they will play their semi on the 7th, if they come 2nd they will play their semi on the 6th, if they come third they could play on either day. Son would have one additional days "rest" compared to Salah if they make the semis.

Son vs Indonesia (assuming Korea 1st, Indonesia 2nd) in Ro16.
Son vs Saudi Arabia (assuming Korea 2nd, Saudi 1st) in Ro16.

        In seeding order;
Egypt vs one of Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Mauritania (assuming Egypt 1st and the respective teams all finish 3rd)
Egypt vs DR Congo (assuming Egypt 2nd and DR Congo 2nd)

one of them has a third place game, if they advance that far. I think it's AFCOM. ,, yes on Feb 10 at 3PM (maybe that's USA timezone)

You mean the semis right? Either way Salah doesn't make GW24 I reckon, be it because jet lagged from losing semis and coming home or having to play the third place play off on the same date as the PL fixture

No, there is a third place game on Feb 10th after the SEMI's to determine who finished third and fourth. The semi's are Feb 7th. The finals are Feb 11th and LIV might get jammed up with a blank game week near GW26 (I.m not going to look up the details of that BGW)

I hear you but what I mean is, even without the 3rd place play-off, the semi's are on the 7th, which are, in my opinion, too tight a turn around to get back for the 10th

Well. Currently on a -26% red arrow, after hauling myself up to 625K in GW17 I've been slapped back to reality in GW18 and this GW so far...

Areola to Dubravka turned out to be a completely unnecessary transfer last week as did Lascelles to Trippier. Tsimikas to Doughty this week to bench Doughty first. Also benched Semenyo (understandably) for his assist...

Captained Haaland and with a 37% EO around my rank means I will fly if he starts and hauls, if not get those Doughty points and Salah comes in (ugh, blank).

Porro, Gusto, Gabriel, Saka, Bowen left to save the GW.

Wizard move to have picked Doughty... good going. When I saw his spot on a team sheet with Doughty playing ahead of the back line, it reminded me of how Leverkusen is playing and leading the Bundesliga. I play their Bundesliga fantasy game... lots of fun to have 5 transfers per week. Anyway Doughty's slot is just like Frimpong or Grimaldo who are playing super as defenders.

It made a lot of sense to me and they seem to be going for it lately. Figured starting and C Haaland with him as first sub was most logical (as Haaland likely to not play) with Salah VC, just a shame about Salah VC. Need a huge Haaland haul now

Bit of a pants week so far.

    Areola
    Trippier Porro Gabriel
    Salah Son Gross Bailey
    Haaland Watkins Solanke
    Leno // Palmer Gusto Taylor

    2FT. 0.3 ITB.

I'm sort of planning to have 2 FT to deal with Salah & Son in GW21. It's the only thing stopping me from moving Trippier > Trent (although unsure I'd do that move this week anyway.)

Bit of a benching headache. You could say bench Bailey, but they're vs. Burnley... (Salah captaincy flashbacks.)

    Best use of a transfer(s)?

I'm not sure you read my post fully.

Not enough cash for a straight swap & clearly the only way 2 FTs would do it is by selling one of Haaland/Salah/Son, lol.

"It's the only thing stopping me" then continued to say that you wouldn't do it this week anyway, making it sound like even if you could do it in one FT you wouldn't. So my question was based on that, why wouldn't you do it, if you could do a straight swap?

                What do you mean?

I can't do a straight swap so it is not relevant anyway. It's not a straight swap because that would entail downgrading elsewhere.

Do you have a suggestion of a downgrade to make to pair that move up with?

P.S. "unsure I'd make that move anyway" is not me saying with 100% certainly I wouldn't do it - just unsure (hence why posting here, to see if others had good advice.)

Just a mis-understanding of phrasing. I'm toying with the idea of losing Ollie, but might be a bit too maverick.

                  Ollie & Trippier > Nkunku & Trent?

You would then have time before GW21 deadline to watch TWO of the three group stage fixtures for both Egypt and Korea (maybe one of their teams doesn't perform well or faces an upset) which could mean benching (so you don't struggle with value if you sell to then buy back shortly afterwards) or you take a -4 to remove both in GW21 Salah & Son > Bowen/Saka/Richar/Kulu/select midfielder here.

That move is 0.2m short. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Nkunku minute predictions aren't amazing from me atm. If only, but decent fixtures aside from being Chelsea.

        Cheers!

I did look at downgrading Trippier to someone 'intermediate' in order to upgrade Trent later.

Whether upgrading Taylor to Trent comes in GW21 as part of a -4 (to catch BOU), or after (CHE) is unclear.

Arsenal defense seems semi-sensible but bad memories lately - bit unsure of going for a double CB pairing!

I'd do Trips to Trent for a -4.
One is clearly doing well in FPL and the other is not.
Price rises and falls also coming into consideration.

The next fixture is LIV (h).
Newcastle will surely concede, hence why I'm benching Trips for that game.

What is the second part of the -4 you'd do?

I have 2 FTs so if I did it this week it's for free.

The -4 would roll over into selling Salah/Son though the following week.

Technically I can bench Trippier for Gusto potentially - although Chelsea probably concede too lolm

          Trippier + Gross --> Bowen/Paqueta + Saliba.
I think you can afford that.
Take out one of Salah/Son for GW21, then the other one GW22.

I am personally going to shaft Salah for Bowen, and you could probably do something similar for the Trent move.
And then Son for GW21 which solves the problem.

I can afford that but I don't need to sell Salah/Son for a WHU mid. I have 2 FT. Might as well just get Saliba, then sell Salah/Son week after?

            Unless Saliba is a typo?

Ah yeah sorry that should say Trent not Saliba.
I was suggesting Saliba for another move which was deleted.

The squad seems manageable without selling Son or Salah for 1 GW, like every other player is not that expensive and affordable.

Depends, I'll always make sure I'm in the position to bring him in, in whichever GW I'm in. If it can be done in 1 move, then 1FT, else rolling for 2FTs.

      I don't have a WC, but it would probably look something like this;

      Dubravka/Areola, Turner
      Trent, Porro, Gabriel, Gusto, Mengi
      Salah, Bowen, Richar, Gordon, Palmer
      Haaland, Watkins, Archer/Semenyo

      Leaves ~1.5ITB.
      Salah > Saka in 21.

Guys, do you think TAA is worth it?

I really can't see a single cs for them in the next 4 as they face 4 teams with great count attacks and that's how Liverpool usually concede.

Surely you can't expect attacking return every gw, especially without Salah?

There are so few.good defenders and we have so much money once Salah and Son are gone. It's more a question of 'why not' to me and I can't see why not.

When you compare him to the likes of Saka he is decent value

Yeah I guess you are right when you put it from that perspective. Saka could be sacrficed later when Salah and Son are back.

So should I catch the price rise tonight and sell Trippier? Or just get an Arsenal defender?

          I'm a Man Utd fan...

Arsenal are probably going to win the league, triple up no brainer.

Spurs are very attacking this year and their players are cheap.

Nkunku is just class, Palmer I tried to avoid but couldn't.

Everton are a bit underrated at the moment still.

Cunha could of been Wood I guess! He seemed the best option at the time of WC17.

            Taa Porro Gabriel guehi baldock

Have up to 6m to invest, but don’t see the point in investing all of that on the fifth mid and having a benching headache every gw. Rather spend up to 5m and keep some funds itb.

I sold him in 19 as a pure gamble. Wanted Saka whilst he's gone and thought why not just do it early and hope the dice roll my way. Benching Watkins was also mega dicey. Dropped in rank tonight but could be on for a huge green now.

Hey people - I have a little dilemma and I'm not sure how to solve it.
What should my moves be over the next few weeks?

1 FT 3.7 in the bank
    Raya Areola
    Saliba TAA Trippier Lascelles Baldock
    Palmer Son Salah Chan Bowen
    Nunez Solanke Osula

Due to me having 3 away in GW21 (Son Salah Chan)
Trippier out of form and terrible fixtures
Lascelles being injured and presumably not first choice now Schar and Botman are back
    Baldock and Osula useless

    I'm thinking
    GW20: Save
GW21: Son Salah and Chan to Saka Odegaard and Eze for a -4 to give myself 11 players.
    GW22 - Nunez to Haaland
