Reluctant to getting rid of Salah for Haaland this week, apart from that, maybe keep FT?

    Martinez
    TAA/Porro/Gabriel
    Salah/Son/Saka/Bailey
    Watkins/Alvarez/Solanke

    Turner/Palmer/Taylor/Lamptey

Getting him on WC, City haven't impressed defensively but so hard to ignore SHU and Burnley at home in next 3 and an impending double. City also tend to begin to pick up their form around this time of year

They tend to pick form in December. I think this year is different, they don't have squad anymore. Kdb is 32 and haven't played regularly since may. It will take time for him to get up to speed.

I don't disagree, I'm probably just saying this out of hope from an FPL point of view, but still KDB is close to returning, Doku shouldn't be far away, Stones is back, if they can avoid any more significant injuries they should be well capable of turning things around

GTG? Saving FT. Nothing in the bank.

    Dubravka
    Porro - Gabriel - Zinchenko
    Salah - Son - Saka - Palmer
    Haaland - Watkins - Solanke

    3.9 - Gordon - Branthwaite - Taylor

Current wc draft… money itb for Son to KDB.

    Raya Turner
    TAA Porro Saliba Gusto Branth
    Son Ode Bowen Palmer Garnacho
    Nkunku Haaland Solanke

    Thoughts?

Is Saliba worth the extra over Gabriel?
Garnacho seems a bit kneejerky and could tempt you into playing him.
Nkunku is a bit punty at this stage. It’s a very dysfunctional team. I wouldn’t want an attacking double up on them.
I’m just picking holes really. Looks good.

If haaland is fit for GW20 seen a lot of content creators & folks on here planning on Salah & their 3rd forward to Richa & haaland

Is there anyone like me that plan on keeping Salah for one more GW & get haaland in GW21?

Hoping Sheffield utd park the bus vs city & haaland returns are limited to 1 goal whilst newcastle match is more open

For a team battling relegation I expect them to go for it at home versus a relegation rival.

City away is a different match for Sheffield utd. They know its tougher & they wont be expected to win so I expect Sheffield utd to play more defensively. With wilder they seem more defensive

Newcastle look exhausted. I expect them to improve after the winter break

Making optimal moves isn't the sole purpose of content creators. They want to create engagement as well, especially the popular ones.

So don't take their words as gospel. Do what's best for your team. I might not get Haaland till GW 22..

Doing exactly as you've said - my thought process is very similar - after Sheffield Utd result yesterday I expect them to be very resilient next week and Salah V's Newcastle is more appealing to me

If Salah was playing arsenal away in GW20 then I'd be more than happy to get rid but Newcastle I just don't fancy it

It could massively back fire on me as I think it will be the more popular move, but I held my nerve & kept watkins in GW14 when masses sold for Darwin.
Also held my nerve & kept bowen through his injury & that's worked.

Guess we all just go with our gut & play our own game

I'm planning on benching on keeping Son & feeling Salah
Salah to Gross/Rhicharlison & semenyo to Haaland in GW21

        Gives me attackers of
        Saka/bowen/palmer/Richa/
        Solanke/watkins/haaland

        Defence
TAA/porro/Gabriel/Konsa & lacelles who had lost his place but got FT to change to him to a CP or wolves defender in GW20

Good team.... although I believe South Korea are favourites to win the Asia cup....so expect Son to be away for 4-5 GW's..... Egypt also usually do well but I don't expect them to go all the way....so expect Salah to be back before Son

I'm not sure which defense from Newcastle or SHU I would thrust more atm. And when you include transfers I don't get it. Sound like Fomo without realizing that you're just going from one great asset to another one.
And City plays Newcastle away 13th January so will have had a rest. Captain Haaland away at St James
      ?
And effectively you change a striker (Watkins, Darwin, Solanke) in the process.

Only thing that puts me off Porro is that I will depend on attacking returns as Spurs defence is injury ravaged and awful. Plus Romero may even be missing. Colwill is another I am looking at instead.

City score 6 & its all different scorers. I had alvarez & haaland that match & nothing from either ( yes I remember haaland went off injured half time)

Getting him on WC, Brighton finally getting a bit of respite with fixtures easing a little after this week and he's been more advanced of late. Only worry I have is him getting shifted to RB here and there and the impact of Mitoma heading off for the Asian Cup (although he hasn't been great anyway), however Estupiñan returning should be big for the side in general

Bought Son at 9.0 (now 9.9) and Salah at 12.7 (now 13.3). Would you sell both from GW21? (I don’t have Haaland)

    1. Dammit_182
      • 4 Years
      1 year, 11 months ago

Morning, so from that it looks like son will drop in your selling price on a 0.2 drop and Salah a 0.1. I don’t know enough about which one is more likely to be out for longer but the league cup still has Liverpool in it so there is a chance Salah misses a game for the final for that too. You should be able to get to Haaland through selling just one of them I would imagine and though my selling prices are different I’m leaning to selling Salah.

    2. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

I've had Salah since GW1 and Son since he was 9.1m and am selling both for what it's worth. Not ideal but being on WC means it'll be wasted if I don't utilise those spots and funds. The hope is both will minimum drop 0.2 and I'm happy enough. Don't forget with the right picks you could well accumulate most of the lost value back from whoever you bring in and then sell to get them back

Yeah it's far from ideal, my only saving grace is moving Son to Kulu so I'm still with Spuds at least. Honestly if I could keep Salah and bench I think I would but it'd mean losing TAA and that seems silly

The only real complication is getting Salah out before Newcastle at home, an earlier wildcard it was easy to keep him so just accept that and use the Haaland info and you're in a decent place.

At least the main game didn't make everyone wildcard gw19 which is the halfway point that other games applied.

Utilising 1st wildcard and getting good replacements in one week early to start accumulating return transfers (least that’s my thinking)

This. Would happily keep both another game but if using WC, keeping 23m locked up is pointless. I think I will hang onto Kudus however as he's a far easier hold at his price

I've seen a few WC drafts that have kept Salah and/or Son then book a transfer the following GW losing advantage against non-WC teams

I agree you've got to wildcard to get one step ahead.

I got Gross when I cashed in on Haaland after Luton away.

It helped that Gordon was flagged but you want 1 or 2 differentials per position if you can.

Egypt have cape Verde, Mozambique and Ghana in group stage so unlikely they will go out before knockout. Then the tournament has extended from 1/4 final to a round of last 16 so likely they ll get a weakish opponent then. can't Salah coming back before

Also take into account the Carabao Cup Final (potentially) and FA cup 1/4 finals and he might miss a lot more games than people think

      This...

People will tell themselves it's just a few games like with Haaland to justify holding onto him...

Then sell later having lost funds etc.

Agreed. I’m probably holding GW20 and then selling and not getting back for loooooong time.

I’m getting Haaland and Gross in for Darwin and Gordon this week. Bit early to pull the trigger but those are my moves for now.

Is Gross the only Brighton asset worth having for their good fixtures?

    Wildcarders...

Are you all selling Son and Salah this week, regardless of their decent form and average fixtures?

    Hello from Kuwait
    Appreciate your advice!
    ITB 0.2 and 2FT

    Areola Dubravka

    Gabrial Cash Guehi Lascelles* colwill

Martinelli Son Salah Gordon Hee Chan

    Haaland Watkins Mateta

Please, What do you suggest to do!!

You have one more week with Salah and Son, maybe use 1FT this week so you have 2FT next gameweek and you can bring in two from Saka/Ødegaard/Richarlison/Kulusevski/Jota

For now maybe look at Cash > Udogie, Gordon > Palmer/Garnacho

Never noticed until now how bad the overall points are for Brighton defenders. Shockingly low, I guess all that gung-ho football and heavy rotation has killed them defensively.

Is Garnacho now an option if he stays on right, with Rash on left...

His shot count is significantly up on his averages

Worth a punt with some good fixtures. United so hit and miss but at least Garnacho has a go and for the price could be worth especially for a Gordon downgrade and raise funds in the process.

Villa's defensive high line played into United's tactic of quick counter.

They play Spurs and Villa again in their next four matches, could benefit against that style of play again.

Fair comment...looking for a Haaland enabler.

Would allow me to keep Alvarez, and basically swap Jiminez for Garna and play ahead of Gordon next gw
