Who do you get if you already have Bowen?

Do you want Foden with KDB's potential return in January?

I would still get Foden because I think KDB will be eased in with being a substitute for a few games before getting starts.

Somewhere, some dude got Sanchez or Raya for the "fixtures" and "Clean Sheets".

Areola's 21 points is best two week haul from a Keeper I have ever enjoyed.

That's with a 13 point single game from DeGea vs Arsenal a few years back.

I took a 4 point hit to replace Salah and Son early to escape their price falls and the price rises on replacements. I know I risk getting later injuries but decided to save the cash which might become important later on when I will probably want to get Son, Salah and Haaland back. I’m not planning on getting Haaland back until GW22 at the earliest, so hopefully I won’t be forced into using my wildcard for GW21.

Captaincy for GW21 is a conundrum. I have those 3 players + Foden & Alvarez (NEW), Watkins (EVE), Rich (MUN). WHU’s match isn’t until 21 Jan when Paqueta could be back and improve Bowen’s attacking potential.

Not sure if it has value as a repost but:
A GW that was starting to get predictable and engaged managers would have done well.
Areola good news but owned by many.
    Palmer benchers hurt.
Not having Saka hurts but others covered his points.
Mr EO chicken went for Salah Cap. Playing safe worked.
Arsenal defender fail which hurt doublers and will not have those who only had one.
Covering Citeh assets a good call. Expect issues later.
Holding onto Salah/Son would hurt a few WCarders.
Kudus out Palmer off the bench anyone?
Villa/Porro/Pool defenders most had so net result OK
TAA failed which has an impact.
    AND HAALAND NO NEWS!
The "casuals "will start to fall away
A GW of extremes but expected.
If you got the positives and avoided the negatives this week well done!

Captaincy on Salah had nothing to do with EO for me. I have watched Newcastle the last month and they're away form defensively is second worst. I was expecting 16 and I was hoping for more, not a faint hope, but that hope that's actually realistic, which it was. The other captaincy options had the ceiling of 10 points. Foden got 12, the other 9 or below. Som maybe could have had one return more. Alvarez cappers got away with a bad choice. Bailed out by a Norwegian twenty year old magic. If you were surprised City didnt steamroll Shu I bet you didn't watch SHU under Wilder. It was as easy to predict as the Swizz clock.

The moment I said I'd had enough of West Ham's unknown starting GK situation, when it suddenly looked like it's Fabianski's spot to lose, and I finally moved on from the set of his awful performances, Areola became the best goalkeeper in the league.

You can't make this up. You just can't.

Well, if KDB and Haaland play versus Huddersfield on January 7 (FA Cup). Changes many things.

    (1) Foden is back to regular value and utility.
    (2) Alvarez is not CF or on Pens

Maybe KDB and EH will be eased back in. My preference is one more week without Haaland to make other needed trades.

I now hate owning Foden and Alvarez, thanks for the 100 point week, now feel like traps.

    Do we know if any price changes are imminent on these guys below;

    Bowen

They will definitely rise/drop within the next few days (Bowen should be tonight even), so if you're planning on making the moves early to catch the price changes then I don't see the point in waiting a day or two when the gameweek is so far away

  17. We Go Again
    • 11 Years

Have to do Salah -> Bowen with one of my FT to be able to have exact cash for Alvarez -> Haaland later without taking a hit. In this case, I would bench Son and play Gordon for 1 week.

Should I go ahead and do the move? If I wait I'll have to take a hit to take Son out to afford Haaland

    1. tommo-uk-
      • 13 Years
      2 years, 3 months ago

I’m in the same situation, more inclined to take a hit to sort out Salah & Son and wait 1 week to bring Haaland in with a FT.

Newcastle should be a tough game and even if Haaland plays will just hide behind the sofa and hope Foden explodes alongside him!

0.2m room for Son, Salah & Archer to Foden, Richarlison & Haaland.

I’m planning almost the exact same moves (have Semenyo instead of Archer) - really want those 3 as replacements (already have Bowen, Saka, Palmer) so yes, I think I would. Particularly if you have a strong bench (assuming Solanke first sub and a decent defender?)

I’ve weighed that up too. If Haaland is fit then -4 to captain him against that awful Newcastle defence with City gunning for the title and Haaland wanting the golden boot, and getting him at the best EO all season - complete no brainer for me vs playing Solanke away to Liverpool +4.

Foden is a trap isn’t he

Kdb Haaland Doku back so he will be pushed to the right and competing with Alvarez.

Bowen and Richarlison the way to go

You're not worried the guy with no shots in his last 2 games might be the trap?

Damn just saw that xg last 2 games but to be fair looks pretty good before that. Should have got Foden for GW20!!

I'd assumed for a while that he'd be one of my Salah/Son replacements, but glad I held off to see how they looked without Paqueta & Kudus. Think I might look at other options now

He's a short term option I guess next 2 (new, BUR) look great for attacking returns.

Bowen is a different proposition without Paqueta and Kudus. West ham looked toothless last night

I've had an incredible Xmas, albeit from a terrible starting point!

Going in to Xmas GW15 5.5m OR (24 point week 9.4m GW rank!)

    GW16 up 835k Son(vc)
    GW17 up 195k
    GW18 up 952k
GW19 up 314k (Salah in and (c) for Burnley)
    GW20 up 501k Salah(c)

Coming out at 2.798m. I was 1.6m in GW7 and feeling I was sitting pretty!

yea, just chip away. Time is on your side vs the vast majority, just not the elite. 100k finish still possible.

Played my WC last week and so my squad is pretty healthy. 4.8 ITB ready to bring Haaland back (for Alvarez) if we get positive news.

    A - Salah > Foden now
    B - Salah > Saka now
C - Wait until FA Cup games are over

    Areola
    TAA - Gabriel - Estu
    Bowen - Olise - Richarlison - Palmer
    Alvarez - Watkins - Solanke

    Raya - Salah - Gusto - Konsa

what can you do when mini league leader smashing it? Just watch and accept it?

I was leading until like GW15 or so. GW1 I ranked 7k!, but its hard to stay high. Gradually over time 2 guys caught me.

One I can handle. But the leader, he just always does so good. This week he got 107 points, gw rank 15k.

5 years ago this guy would be like 500k. IDK what changed, thinking he was copying a content creator move for move, but they mostly have bad scores. I guess he has jsut figured the game out and has some luck. But its very demoralising when you have a decent green, and still get totally wrecked by a rival.

Only 35 points in front. Two GWs basically.

I really do. Honestly. But ofc I keep an eye on mini league as want to win that.

My thought process is that if I do well overall, I will win my mini league without looking at it, but still, I cant help but look at it. Basing transfers on it would be very bad, I don't do that (I don't think).

Yeah, you're all good then. It is a pain when people pull away but unless it's a H2H league you're not playing a person you're just playing the game.

Fortunately I'm in a H2H league and I'm doing OK despite my terrible OR

ah I had a terrible week like 2/3 weeks ago and got deleted from many leagues so all my h2h are done and LMS etc.

My team seems very template on the surface, but some weeks its very odd and I will either get a very high scoring week or low scoring week when others don't. Last week for example, I ranked very high, but the week before I got 30 points when most had 60/70+. Its strange.

    Martinez* / Kelleher*

    Andersen* / Trippier* / Beyer* / Saliba / Estupinan

    Son* / Richarlison / Palmer / Bowen / Saka

    Alvarez / Solanke / Watkins.

1FT, plan to sit on my hands and await some Haaland news, have money to get him in for Alvarez. If no news I'll bin Trippier this GW and Son next GW, or just hold Son if he'll only miss 1 more gw...

Pretty obvious, isn't it? Take a -4 to remove Salah/Son/Hwang

Investing the 2FT in midfield will do the trick, right? You can use 1FT first on Salah/Son then the other closer to the next GW as you get a clearer picture of who's available.
