Best midfield option 5.8 or below please (got Palmer).

Thinking perhaps Rodri with the double in mind?

Willian, Tavernier, Kulivert, Doucoure, Garnacho, Neto, and that Villa guy that's on pens if you must.

        Plus Curtis Jones.
And yes, Rodri is a good cheap pick.

Think he could be of interest at that price - see how he goes for a few weeks, take a punt at the double despite the bad fixtures, and hold through BGW to a wildcard after. Most likely in too busy trying to get Salah/Haaland/Trippier/Kdb all in at once

Apologies for my discourteously. I will defo come say hi once the real football starts again. My main issue is you guys are fresh as a daisy in your time zone. Yeah I am UK so normal in FPL I guess. Just my unhealthy lifestyle on a weekend means I tend to interact more with those from Down Under than those on my time zone. Which team wins this week:

    Team not Saka(C):
    - Zinchenko
    - Martinelli
    - Jota
    - Darwin
    +13 points

    Team not +13 points:
    - Gabriel
    - Saka(C)
    - Solanke

    It's a skillful question, I know...

But i plan to be on that wagon, sharing a common tissue with FPL legends to wipe those tears (although will be wary of infection spread so will have a 50ml bottle of Cuticura). He will be boom or bust. It will be a rollercoaster - will be fun but there is a risk that someone at the top of the rollercoaster vomits and i will get it in my face when my carriage is at the bottom. I think that is enough metaphors for one night. Apologies and good weekend all!

'Mohamed Salah will miss Egypt's vital Africa Cup of Nations Group B game against Cape Verde on Monday with a hamstring injury.

The Liverpool forward, 31, has also been ruled out of a last-16 tie should Egypt qualify'.

"Tests on Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egypt national team, proved that he suffered a hamstring injury and will miss the next two matches of the team at the Afcon," the Egyptian Football Association said.

That's not true at all though. He could end up making GW22 and GW23 should certainly be a decent chance. The latest Egypt's R16 game could be (if they progress) is Jan 29th, and Liverpool's GW22 fixture is on Jan 31st so there's a chance he could make that going on the timeline given (particularly if Egypt don't make it through, but even if they do they could play as early as the 27th). You'd think if he's back at Liverpool and misses that that GW23 (Feb 4th) is a likely return date as both potential QF dates are before that

Not sure I can "build a narrative" when I'm giving you the literal fixture dates. A player not being ready for one day but being ready 2-4 days later isn't anything unusual. But no I don't have Salah and doubt I'll be going for him until I see him return for Liverpool.

You know he has a hamstring injury right? You also are aware of the date today and how many days that is until Feb 4th?

He doesn't have a hamstring injury, he has a muscular injury (back), and has been ruled out of a game on Monday (Jan 22), and another game that will take place between Jan 27-29 - if Egypt make it. Liverpool's GW22 game is Jan 31. What don't you get about this?

Posterior muscle, his arse then lol. Had it been hamstring then you would have to agree with me, when does a footballer come back in less than 2 weeks with any kind of hamstring strain, must be an absolute rarity that one.

FYI I think the waters are a bit murky on this reporting but "posterior muscle" may well equal "posterior (thigh) muscle", which would be the hamstrings.

Greg is still being a bit rude though. Nate's not necessarily wrong either.

But what do I know 🙂

True, I just assumed back as it was reported by some as hamstring first but later updated to say posterior muscle but it generally means back from my own experience, but who knows here as he was definitely holding that area of his leg

FPL aside, does anyone else find the Toney stuff nauseating? Even Franks comments about him starting and being captain?

All the Twitter stuff from Brentford like he’s coming back from a serious injury. I know he’s had his punishment but then he even has the nerve to suggest he’d be interested if a big team came in for him?

Hope he misses a pen and gets sent off personally!

Brentford are interested in bigging him up to build up his fee I guess. I see a lot of comments about his lack of respect and how Brentford have been so loyal to him. True, he has been pretty disrespectful, but it's not like Brentford had much other choice is it? Terminate his contract for gross misconduct to save less than a million in wages (I heard he's on 20k per week)? Or pay him through the 8 months, keep him fresh and fit with training and playing time and get a big fee for him once he's back and reintegrated with the squad.

    3. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

I get it for Frank and Brentford, he's a big character in the dressing room and I can understand there's some vehemence there on all sides regarding how this came about (remember Toney suggested there were certain people out to get him and targeted him with this specifically at the time of England call-ups) and particularly given he was labelled as a bad egg and given no support, while a few months later Tonali was labelled as being misunderstood and having been misled and needing help.

However he certainly hasn't helped himself with his touting himself to other clubs or the fact that he lied about it to authorities initially. I get him leaving in the summer for a big fee will likely suit all sides as it's part of Brentford's model, but he could be a bit more respectful in the public eye. However I am beginning to think there's a bit of theatrics on too as Frank seems to be engaging in it too (going from "he's not being sold now" to "99% staying but you never know if a crazy big offer comes in" in pressers this week). By all accounts from within Brentford it has been quite trying for Toney and he is certainly more vulnerable than he ever puts on

The other nauseating bit was the original ban getting reduced because he's got an addiction. Call me a cynic but to me obviously he was going to say that to get the ban reduced. I'd probably give him more credit for that if he'd turned himself in rather than getting caught. I'm not a Bees fan but if I was I'd feel badly let down by a man who continued to get paid (probably the highest earner) while effectively being banned from what he is paid to do. He owes them big time.

          "(probably the highest earner)"

If we go by the predicted XI which is expected to start vs Forest, he is joint 10th for wages. Earning same as Roerslev.

He definitely owes them, and tbh this isn't the first time he's been caught acting like he's a big fish in a small pond, he's touted a big move a few times before and I thought I saw a video of him a while back chatting someone up and when asked about playing for Brentford he said something like "small club but I won't be there for long"

I would roll it since you're not going be able to afford Salah, KDB & Haaland so a bit more info on their respective recoveries / fitness levels is needed before you start locking into a structure for DGW25

Spread market projections for the rest of season goals.

Solanke, Darwin, Toney and Watkins all on 8 goals then Saka, Alvarez and Isak etc.

Good luck. KDB being back could push Foden to the right and Bernardo to the bench. With a Saturday Tuesday turnaround in the double, I don't he gets 2 starts either way. Bernardo is getting on a bit now whereas Pep has said that Foden is one of the best players he has when it comes to recovery and playing every 3 days.
