What would you do with this lot 1ft, 7.6 ITB plan was to finally get rid of JWP but with Salah news maybe its time to let go?

    Areola
    Porro, Gabriel, Konsa, Beyer
    Palmer, Foden, Bowen
    Watkins, Solanke, Alverez

    Dubravka, JWP, Salah, Livramento

Based on the info we currently have, I would sell Salah and straight FWD swap to Haaland when fit to start. I wouldn't use 1FT and funds ITB to upgrade JWP this GW as it may lead to a hit to bring in Haaland later

Who would you bring in for Salah? I'll more than likely do Alverez to Haaland when he's fit

Please, any suggestion? While I don't really like some players e.g. Watkins, I feel like rolling the transfer, keeping the premiums. Any thoughts? (£2.2 in the bank for the record.) Thanks in advance.

    Leno / Areola
Gabriel, Porro, Estupiñán / Branthwaite, Robinson
Bowen, Foden, Palmer, Douglas Luiz / Salah*
    Haaland*, João Pedro, Watkins

Depends what team you can put out in 22 and Haaland’s fitness. I would be looking to sell Salah this GW to make your team more robust

He's running more into the box when Maddison plays, more goal treath, but probably loses some set pieces. Not sure he loses all though. I think holding until blank 29 is ok, if you can. Spurs fixture run after the blank is cruel.

    Pickford

      Looks good, all factors permitting.

Who to get rid of for Haaland is a key question. Same frontline as me and most. It feels counter-intuitive to get rid of Alvarez over Watkins & Solanke considering the dgw.

It doesn't seem a good idea to have triple Spurs & Pool but that's not going to stop me from tinkering to see if I can make it work.

Maybe sometimes we get too hung up on needing to field 11 every week & miss out on opportunities like this?

Having the same feeling myself. Very easy to just target doublers/those without blanks but it's a long way to go to completely ignore a side as attacking as Spurs. I've only scraped by with 10/11 available players for far more weeks than I had hoped in recent months so why not have some fun punts alongside targeting doubles?

  8. The Big Fella

Are the underlying numbers “he is playing too far wide”? He is a sell for me. Bringing in Palmer. Must be the only one without him.

I'm still Palmer-less too and I'll probably stay that way. Just being stubborn like I was a few years back when Jota continually hauled and I said "he can't keep doing it", but yes, he did.

😆 I need to sell Saka to get Haaland so need to bring somebody in at that PRICE POINT (I’ve said it everybody, deal with it). It’s either him or Neto and Neto hasn’t been back long enough for me to assess if he will kick on from where he left off

        Nate,

I enjoy your views more than most but you've gotta have the ability to change your mind and admit when you have got it wrong.

Over a decade ago I was flying and in a battle for a mini league where he had Cisse if I remember correctly. It was the last 10 games and I kept thinking he'll stop scoring soon but he didn't.

My team did well but I couldn't pip him.

I used to avoid Salah for some reason but that was a mistake.

Now I'm prepared to change my mind of Richarlison and ship in Jota too.

I think these boards are by far too cautious but I'm back to not taking hits so rolling a transfer is probably the strongest play when you can do it.

        Get Palmer in!

          • 4 Years

Everyone here said this to me about Alvarez not so long ago, I held out & now look at all the frustration with him...

I also still don't own Palmer. Its mainly a Chelsea thing, plus a feeling that he's not as effective on the right. I mean, I know he's not a bad FPL option by any means but I don't see why there's such an air of reverance/exceptionialism about him. With liv/mci/blank in the next 5, I don't actually see him as a better option than, say, Pedro Neto. Sometimes the hype/FOMO just sweeps away critical thinking / difference around here

I kind of like to go with the flow a little bit too. I mean form as much as fixtures.

Would you rate Jota or Richarlison higher for a transfer in next?

            1. The Mentaculus
              • 4 Years
              2 years, 1 month ago

Oh for sure, I get swept up in it too (ahem, Sterling...). And I take your point more generally, I do try to keep an open mind especially when circumstances change or from season to season, but sometimes its tricky to weigh that against sticking to your instincts even when the results aren't going your way short-term.

I have Richarlison & am quite likely to cap him this week - think the Brentford fixture is still a nice one to target & I hope Maddison might play some part. So I'd probably prioristise him over Jota if getting one this week. Although I think I will probably buy Jota this week - here's a clear case of admitting I got it wrong in asssuming Elliott would play RW - plus with Salah out for a while now I think he'll be their main goal threat for too many games to ignore

In what sense? 51st for points in the last 6 GWs at 4.3 PPG. I mean I rate him as a player but he was never as essential an FPL option as he was made out to be here

          • 5 Years

I'll probably get him eventually but not until after the blank. The things that hold me back are more significant than with Jota (still don't trust Chelsea yet, wastefulness from teammates, number of penalties and relatively lucky goals he's had, etc.) but I'm aware I should probably bite the bullet. But I find more fun in being different where I can and I feel people often feel like if you don't have X then you're always whatever many pts they got behind, but you're not because you have someone instead. I had Olise's brace when Palmer played Luton, and Estupiñan(C) wasn't far off Palmer(C) this week so I'm OK for now

Any thoughts on what to prioritise here? Thinking of getting KDB in, would still have enough to get Haaland

    Areola
    TAA Porro Gabriel
    Saka Palmer Foden Gross
    Watkins Solanke Alvarez

Dubravka Konsa Lascelles Anderson 1 FT 12.1 ITB

Getting KDB, playing him as well as the 4 midfielders you already have starting and benching either Watkins or Solanke in GW22 is worth considering.

I’d be priced out of Haaland if I do that. It’s Gross/Saka to KDB I’m thinking.

Ok, in that case I prefer Saka to KDB. I haven't had Saka for many weeks and have had a lot of green arrows.

The targets are sound. What's the strategy?

So Saka to KDB then? And who to Haaland?

Saka or Gross > KDB then
        Alvarez > Haaland

To get Haaland. I’d have Foden, KDB, Haaland.

Exact cash for these two transfers. Problem is KDB might rise in price tonight.

    Salah > KDB
    Watkins > Haaland

    Cheers.

A bit risky to do both of those before Man City play in the FA Cup on Friday, imo.
