      They play on Monday so I say yes, just don't C him if you're nervous about it and C KDB, he played plenty of mins to say hes really back now.

        I didn't see the end of the Man City game, was there anything on the eye test to suggest he's not fully fit and recovered from the issue?

          Nope, looked normal when he came on, made the same runs as normal, just snatched at a chance when normally he wouldn't, that's my only take from it.

              I did it and just see it as being ahead in transfers now, itll have to be done sooner or later, rather do it early to gamble on a gain before he becomes a defensive pick.

              We have one more round for that before hes in every team again.

                True,

                I've got 2 FTs again so I will do it today most likely. Don't normally go early but with it being the Monday game there may not be much pre deadline.

                Pep may do the press conference on Friday, probably not tho as today is a rest day and Friday, Saturday and Sunday are likely the training and travel days. If so media duties could be on Saturday lunchtime.

                Ironically, I was benching Alvarez in my bus team but I will just have to think about the 8th attacker to bench a little further.

                Watkins could still be the strongest captain call.

                Good luck.

      Gross will probably tick along so maybe worth giving him some time before ditching him. Gordon does look good for the fixtures, but both him and Olise (and Gross) will almost certainly blank in 29 so you might want to keep an eye on that if you don't plan to FH.

          How come?

          Despite 2 goals for Alvarez he dropped in price, but most could probably absorb that first fall of 0.1m

            I am debating whether to do the move or not....Alvarez taken off on 80 mins and Haaland just coming back. Not beyond the realms of possibility that Alvarez starts again....tough one because whichever way you decide to go, it could be severely punished.

                Probably... As good as Man City are as a team basically you want the guy player most central and closest to goal.

                It's nice for Alvarez to score twice to show people he has it but I suspect Pep is itching to get his big man back in the swing of things...

    Terrible night, took out Toney for Haaland because he felt like the one who'd cause the most pain, turned out he caused the most pain (if you look past Darwin missing a pen, getting booked & hitting the post 4 times)

          Thing is this is too typical for him. You look as a non-owner at so many games and think "wow, he was so unlucky, a big haul is on the way". Then you see his game against Newcastle or Chelsea yesterday and realise that - at least until he refines his shooting - this is far more regular than him having a good day

      Not unless Trent becomes a mid full time which seems unlikely this season (maybe next year under Xabi?) Also takes away a more guaranteed for minutes Liverpool spot.

      For others in that bracket, I was looking at this a couple of days ago trying to squeeze an extra 0.1 or 0.2 out of my squad. My findings were as follows:
      van Hecke seems fairly nailed, but as we have just seen, Brighton do concede a lot;
      Gusto as you have mentioned, but not 100% nailed and Chelsea pretty leaky too;
      Trusty is a starter at least and so, probably is Baldock when he's back (and only 3.8), but they play for Sheff Utd;
      Branthwaite seems sensible, nailed and Everton solid-ish;
      Chris Richards at Palace has been playing, mainly OOP for the last few weeks, but I think he was only a stop-gap and Palace have just signed a new right back and a young DM from Blackburn so I'd think his days were numbered.

    Gw 25 triple captain

      I just hang around here until someone tells me what to do, but looks about right.

        A good score in a poor week can do wonders for relative rank rises.

        60 points in an average safety score week of 30 will boost you as much as a 90 pointer in a high scoring 60 week safety score.

        It just depends when you can take a relative advantage tbf.

        Opportunity exists in blank weekends as well as doubles.

          Actually, the net 30 points is a more powerful rank boost in a low scoring week.

          It's 50% net extra compared to 33% in that example.

            I'm not doing this v well.

            In that example it's 100% isn't it, 60 v 30 points.

                I get what you are saying. It does make sense. Like there could be plenty or points to be had in a blank GW and if others don't go for those points could be great for your rank.

      I think that’s what I’m going for, don’t need to FH in 25/26 & don’t want to use transfers preparing for 29, feels the easiest path for my team.

      People will say there’s low upside in 29 but the upside comes from the weeks either side of it when you’re not wasting transfers on fillers for that one week.

        This as well.

        It helps if there's say 4 or 5 games on with a few decent teams or differential match ups etc.

        The prevailing view might be to hold a FH for a big dgw but other chips work there too.

      Don't know what I'm doing but have seen this strategy put forward:

      TC DGW25
      Dead end BGW29
      WC 30/31 Salah?
      BDGW34 FH to avoid blanks and increase doublers
      DGW37 BB

      But I may BB soon instead as there's more depth without Salah & Son in the team now.

        TC25 might be too soon if it's for Salah.

        On Man City it might not be two high scoring games.

        There's a large element of risk/luck with the triple captain chip.

      It's not recency bias saying this but Alvarez is the best third City option for me.

    I don't think the Haaland or Alvarez equation is necessarily as straightforward as people think. How many games did they start together earlier in the season? Appreciate KDB was injured during that spell but KDB is not going to be starting every game for the rest of the season given his age etc and I think because City have coped fine without Haaland they'll be a bit more careful with him too although it was a different injury and he's 10 years younger nearly than KDB too. Basically Alvarez is in the same pot as everyone else in midfield bar Rodri but he's also the only other striker option if they want to rest Haaland or do something different.

      Champions League will also change the horizon in 2 weeks or so but that eases in.

      Pep values Champions League/Premier League the most highly.

      Plus the FA Cup so rotation will feature if they progress.

      I bet we end up with double City because of it.

      Pep hates it when his players don't have the "rhythm" of games, so Haaland will get solid game time ahead of CL.

      Alvarez has an insane amount of minutes in his legs (enforced through injury) so is at the most risk of rotation IMO. Similar with Foden.

    If I told you there was a nailed 6.9 million third highest scoring forward in the game that has returned in 12 of 22 games with 16 returns in total and has only blanked in two consecutive games just once, playing for the champions of England and Europe and on some set pieces, with a double gameweek soon ... surely you would buy not sell 😉

      Or get Cunha?

      Or Toney.

      Or Adebayo.

      So many options and the budget will become material again with Haaland and Salah/Son back in a few weeks.

      FPL is back ...

      He’s not nailed he hasn’t started the last 5 UCL games. With KDB back there are many avenues for him to get rotated going forwards especially when other competitions become a factor

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 11 Years

        Surely though people stumping up the money for KDB have taken a bigger punt (to quote Toney) than those on Foden or Alvarez. They are all as likely to be rotated as the other. KDB isn't going to be nailed because he used to be the main man, he's getting old and Julian is the future for them.

          Could KDB be preferred to the Champions League and Alvarez for the Premier League when both are in full flow in March and so on?

          Alvarez scores 2 goals in a game for the first time in the PL this year and all of a sudden the narrative shifts to him being future what am I seeing

            I guess if you're trippled up on Man City he's the easy pivot to Haaland...

            Especially with just 1 FT.

            Will Walker start on Monday is also pretty pertinent?

        The fact he doesn't start in UCL is a positive, surely ?

    I was so busy sorting out the front 7 that I forgot to take a look at the GK position... so I managed to play Turner instead of Leno. FML.

    After 10 years of playing FPL, and still rookie mistakes happen. God give me strength.

      I might. I have 4 GW26 blankers so one needs to be sold and it's not impossible with the right transfers before that he becomes Jota or a City mid. He's still very cheap and I have Olise as a route back should Palmer be playing GW29 and Olise not
