    That second Newcastle penalty was nothing short of embarrassing. Gordon milked it big time and the officials bought it. Why can't the officials not see that was bought? He came into Phillips from behind as he was kicking the ball.

        Just saw the highlights and couldn't believe my eyes. The quality of the officiating is insanely bad. Anyone could see there was no intent from Phillips unless he has eyes in the back of his head.

          Sometimes I see this called when a forward sneaks in from behind the defender and pokes the ball away; and I can see how that could sometimes get called as a foul…but that wasn’t what happened here— it was clear in this case that Gordon just stuck his foot in the way intending to get kicked.
