chelsea just need a goal scoring winger, Leao or Gnabry type of player. they have some solid foundations to build on otherwise

    1. x.jim.x

They need a complete overhaul in every area of the pitch. Not one world class player to show for that billion.

hmm. not sure, tough to write off young players, gusto/dsasi/caicedo/fernandez/gallagher are all decent. caicedo has underperformed but he was too good at brighton to have completely lost it

obv palmer decent and jackson has the movement and strikers instinct, just lacking in a few departments, but again young player and inexperienced with time who knows. nkunku is quality and should have an impact next season

their wingers aren't influential/good enough though imo

        1. x.jim.x

It’s a team full of mercenaries, managed by a perennial bottler, ran by a football-illiterate lunatic. To say they only need a winger (to challenge I assume?) is pure madness.

top 4 challengers, not title material. agree about boehly, but bit harsh to call the players mercenaries given most in their first season at the club. gotta give them a chance to prove themselves

        2. RichardNixon

Also had plenty of injuries with James, Fofana, Lavia, Nkunku out all season. Colwlil and Chilwell also for large chunks. These are players who would be starting most games. Not easy to deal with when trying to build a new team with young players who haven't played together before. We have improved throughout the season and will continue to do so. Long way to go to reach top four levels though.

    2. jacob1989
      • 4 Years

R u saying their defense is rock solid? And they have a world class striker in jackson? And caicedo is really worth 115m?
Were it not for palmer, they would be 15th or lower. Would only stey up bcoz the 3 promoted teams are terrible

      1. F4L
        • 11 Years
        2 years, 1 day ago

😀 they're not title contention material, but top 4 next season would be a realistic aim. i dont go in too much for just stats but expected points have them 5th right now, they haven't been that bad all season.

      2. RichardNixon
        • 9 Years
        2 years, 1 day ago

James, Fofana, Colwill and Chilwell injured for large chunks of the season. Lots of hyperbole but remove Saliba and Gabriel from Arsenal's back four and they're not so flash all of a sudden. Look at Man Utd's defence, with the injuries they've had. Or Newcastle after they lost Pope.

Anyway, Chelase is at the early stages of building a team and are miles off the standards the club aspires to. We'll keep improving imo and over time we'll weed out the deadwood like Mudryk.

    3. RichardNixon
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 1 day ago

We bought Mudryk, Sterling, Madueke and Fofana for that purpose. Now we have no money left 😀

      1. F4L
        • 11 Years
        2 years, 1 day ago

im sure theres some money left somewhere 😛

if dont know where most chelsea fans stand on James but if you could find a European club that would buy him (from the outside Gusto should have that RB spot) + sell Gallagher there would be some funds. although not nice to see academy products sold off

        1. RichardNixon
          • 9 Years
          2 years, 1 day ago

The future of both James and Gallagher are highly debated in Chelsea circles. James needs another season imo. I think he'lll always be injury prone but he's good enough to get another crack. Gallagher is decent and he's had a good season but he's the obvious route to raising funds.

They have purchased potential but need to invest team with 'experience'- similar to what Arsenal
have done over last couple of years & paid millions over the top for some average players.

Youth team (Excellent) don't need potential

Season not help with on going injuries worst that majority of other teams.

I feel Jackson gets a lot of criticism as escapte goat but players like Enzo go under radar,
he does not seem to want to play with Caicedo - no Enzo & with Gallagher looked a different team,
      Chelsea six-nil win against Everton

Four players - Goalkeeper/Left Back / creative midfielder / Forward (priority for last couple of season)

A.) Left back cover for Chilwell -
      1. Let Lewis Hall go on loan - will be sold for £28 Million in the summer - why?
      2. had it with Ian Maatsen (brilliant at Burnley last season let go to Borussia Dortmund on loan - Why?

      ---
Midfielder - (massive mistakes made by Todd Boehly did it himself instead of getting a Director of Football in at the start & not keeping some of the original Board through hand over period.

      A. Enzo Fernández £117 Million - sold for £8.8 Million to Benfica (23rd June 2022) overpriced massive profit for a season
      B. Moisés Caicedo Corozo £115 Million(price bumped up due to a bidding battle with Liverpool)
      C. Roméo Lavia £58 Million - injured (price bumped up due to a bidding battle with Liverpool)
      D. Mykhailo Mudryk £70 Million (deal possible up to £89 Million with bonus) (price bumped up due to a bidding battle with Arsenal)

Could for the same money with more experience gone for
      1. Jude Bellingham £88 Million
      2. Declan Rice £100 Million
      3. Harry Kane £86 Million
