Smith Rowe to Arsenal according to David Ornstein

The 5.5m midfielder bracket is looking good - ESR, CHO, Minteh, Adingra, Andreas, Hutchinson

Think CHO is the best of the lot but ESR with those fixtures looks good too. Certainly a better bet than Pedro/Armstrong IMO.

Start of the clearout. Talented and young but given Arsenal need to sell a few I’m surprised Fulham are willing to pay that.

My team is the perfect gw1 line up

    Henderson
    Robbo, Gvardiol, Mykolenko
    Salah, Saka, Foden, Eze, H.Odoi,
    Isak (C), Watkins

Salah and Saka rotating captain with Isak & Watkins also can be the captain.

My latest two drafts are really similar.

One with Salah and one without

      Areola Fab
      Robbo Mykolenko Andersen Konsa Harwood
      Salah Palmer Eze Gordon 4.5
      Isak Watkins Havertz

      Areola Fab
      Robbo Mykolenko Andersen Konsa Harwood
      Saka Palmer Son Eze H.Odoi
      Isak Watkins Darwin/Gakpo

I think I'm more and more sold on the no Haaland nor Salah team

Has anyone bothered to calculate how many points Havertz would have got last year if he was listed as a striker?

    1. Holmes
      • 12 Years
      2 years, 10 days ago

Quick look gives -13 for goals and -16 for assists. Probably 4-5 extra BPs. So net loss of 25pts which gives 155pts.

Thank you Holmes, this is great, in 2 minds whether he’s worth it over someone like Muniz but it’s hard to gauge as both really only got going for half a season each.

        1. Holmes
          • 12 Years

I guess Havertz' success would depend on whether they sign a forward or not.

Muniz' fixtures looks better for a start, even Wood and Mateta have got reasonable fixtures.

Ratcliffe is now moving to cut costs on the football side of things. First the women's team https://www.skysports.com/share/13160295 and now the academy coaches and staff: https://talksport.com/football/1980574/man-utd-academy-staff-told-redundancies/.

Systematically sucking out what little atmosphere is left at the club.

It was more a clearout at the top which has been underperforming for a decade on the footballing side of things that people were saying. I certainly was anyway. It would avoid stripping what little soul is left out of the club.

I mean the academy has been doing fine. Why would they gut that? Without it you wouldn’t have “the generational talent” that is Kobbie Mainoo.

They aren't closing the academy mate, they're letting 7 coaches go.

It's obviously always terrible when people lose their jobs, and I don't want to sound like I'm sticking up for a billionaire w*nker, but the club's obviously bloated, and even after cutting 25% of the workforce, we'd still be just behind Liverpool in headcount (the biggest employers in the league) and double City's.

This isn't 'news' to anybody who's worked in a mismanaged company with bloat before.

That is the problem right there, Jim is treating the football club like any other one of his businesses - it’s not, atmosphere is essential!

Sadly, football clubs are a business first-and-foremost these days. Doubt this will have any affect on 'atmosphere', either internally and on the terraces.

Avoiding all of them at the start -

Not me, I won't be picking them at the start.

Yep. I think the start of the season is going to be sluggish in general. Differentials might play a huge part to start with.

Arteta plays Saka like his life depends on it, we’ll have the CS game to see if Foden’s ready, and Palmer’s got City so no great loss if he doesn’t start

I doubt pep will play foden so it’ll be a guessing game for wk1

I think he will with it being a derby

If Jhon Duran (6.0) moves to West Ham he plays his old club at his new home on the opening day. Tempting.

Not really, as a Villain he hasn't exactly lit me up with excitement. It is time he moved on tho, possibly to the EFL so you could pick him out there in this 'thrilling new fantasy game'

As a neutral I always thought he looked dangerous, thanks for the insider view

    Second draft of the season

    Flekken (Valdimarsson)
    Gvardiol-Saliba-Burn (Andersen-Faes)
    Salah-Foden-Eze-Nkunku (CHO)
    Watkins-Havertz-Isak

Nice team m8, but why have CHO if you going to bench him Vs Bournemouth GW1. Too
good a fixture to have him on bench

ESR to Fulham looking likely. Such a shame he didn't get much first team action at Arsenal but I think he will be an exciting FPL option if getting regular game time which I'm sure he'll get there.

Excellent Willian replacement. Probably straight in my team for GW1

Genuinely curious - why is Andersen in so many teams? What exactly makes him the go-to Palace pick?

I think he's got a bigger goal threat than Guehi. That's probably it.

Plus he's cheaper than Mitchell and Munioz.

Guys is Eze on the move? I can't find any sources to back up this rumour.

He was linked with City, but I think that’s probably only on if De Bruyne goes to Saudi Arabia.

Think this Savinho purchase has kyboshed Eze to City. They're overrun with wingers... Taxi for Grealish?

I assume Eze would be a De Bruyne replacement with Doku and Savinho out wide

I heard Spurs are more in need of a striker, like Ivan Toney.
