Ok this feels borderline template but any thoughts appreciated.

    Flekken
    Burn Gvardiol Gabriel
    Palmer Foden Rogers Salah Johnson
    Havertz Isak

    Turner Muniz, A.Moreno, Harwood-B

Turner to Valdi if you want to be more safe 😉 but you're right, this is pretty much the template

So no Haaland, no Saka, no Bowen, no Watkins. Other than Salah, literally not a single guy that is a sure thing for points and has been proven to deliver year after year other

You need at least 1 or 2 of those 4 in your team. Isak and Havertz is a weak, temperamental front line. And despite sacrificing those big names you still somehow only have 3 midfielders and flekken in goal

Man you must be fun irl. I’d say moreno is a no go, but literally every other player you can make an argument for, but because it’s not the established template they must be criticised!!!

That's fine. Make sure you back that up tho and go in with 2 out of your front 7 as johnson and rogers.

For someone who has 15 years experienced you are remarkably inflexible based on other comments.

Anyone going non-template should be applauded. Either they are making a mistake - great, or they are a step ahead - well done and fair play.

I don’t get your attitude at all.

Maybe you have a similar team to him or something. People are posting RMTs and Im giving my advice. You're welcome to take it or ignore it. Attacking it as you're doing means you're the inflexible one and unwilling to listen

Hahahaha - you gave me a right giggle, lack of self awareness always amuses me as it’s a choice.

“He has to”, “you need at least” and the zinger the unnecessarily aggressive “make sure you back it up” - they are the inflexible comments and only one of us said any of them.

My current squad literally shares 3 players but I enjoy seeing different squads - particularly when I can see logic for them.

Scroll down theres comments offering no insight, one reply to a RMT just says "trash". I'm the only reply on this page with an answer longer than 1 sentence trying to strike up a conversation. And you've chosen to attack me. This is why every response to every RMT on this site now is just "B", "template team" and "no keeper". It's a real shame

                    Be honest with yourself.

You have no interest in striking up a conversation- you want to prove that your opinion is better than everyone else’s.

Striking a conversation is - “what’s the logic for no Haaland or Salah?”

Criticising others is - “you have 0 out of 5 of the players you need to be looking at”

That latter which is a direct quote adds nothing to a “conversation” but criticism.

Hahaha - I’d suggest you stop making yourself look a bit silly.

Yes I strongly disagreed, still do. But “disagree” immediately suggests subjectivity and an opinion open to challenge. Rather than a presentation of factual criticism implied by “have to”, “need to”, “better do”.

The fact you can’t tell the difference says more about you than me. I don’t want to repeatedly call you out, but I don’t like self importance, particularly over a game,

Yeah I am here to express an opinion and try to justify it, absolutely. But I express my opinions as opinions, not as fact and opportunities to criticise others.

Yes I’m criticising you, as I think you are a tool. My opinion - open to challenge, see how that works?

Rash is a streaky player whobis able to lose his form for far too long periods. I won't have him until I see him being good old himself. After two consecutive goals it's probably time to get him in, not a minute before.

True, but don't forget that mids get an extra point per goal and clean sheet, which he won't get this season now he's classified as a forward. If he was classified as a forward last year he would have scored 151 points, which would have put him 8th in the striker list, below Alvarez, Mateta and Solanke, who are all cheaper than he is.

The FPL Scout have Havertz in their 11 for gameweek one though.

You're not far off my team. Sacrifice Salah to Saka, upgrade rogers and isak and your team starts to look real nice.

I've tinkered a bit with Haaland + Salah but having both is not viable.

You're just using confirmation bias here. That was his 22-23 season and his other 2 seasons in the last 3 years have been 182 and 206. People are picking Eze who's max is 159

I've played FPL for almost 15 years now. I always put the guys in my team that I know will deliver.

You quoted four years. Not me.

The 4th year was 141 points.

I'm not saying don't pick him. Go for it. But I'd say there is a better "must have" player in a top 5.

Like I say. By week 4 I guarantee he's in your team after he knocks a couple in and you look at a fixture run of fulham, chelsea, brentford, ipswich. I'm not letting one difficult fixture (city) out of 7 deter me from a guy that scored 182 points last season so that I pick Eze instead.

Ok first RMT since game launch and few weeks of tinkering:

    Areola (fabianski)
    Gvardiol L.Martinez Burn (Barco) (Harwood-Bellis)
    Salah Nkunku Gordan Rogers (winks)
    Haaland Isak Watkins

TBH, I wont decide on Wood until close to the deadline as there are other good options around his price. But, he finished last season strongly, is doing well in pre-season, and has good fixtures. I have more faith in Wood delivering than MGW.

              I swapped Andreas for Smith-Rowe.

Appreciate mids have suffered somewhat of course, but think nkunku could be value pick of the season and can always downgrade fwd / upgrade a mid if it’s not working out. Better that than trying to get Haaland after he scores his first brace. Haaland and Salah both fully rested over the summer

        1. have you seen cyan

Nkunku is the very definition of a wait and see. Every season without fail there will be a Chelsea player, normally new, who is apparently a must have.

Its reaching meme territory now, honestly.

      1) Double Arsenal defense is a gamble, I'd downgrade White to Munoz
      2) Double Spurs midfield is another gamble, as we don't know who will definitely play. I'd drop Maddison and bring in Eze.
      3) Double Liverpool attack is yet another gamble as there could be a lot of rotation. I'd sell Gakpo for either Wood or Muniz and swap Jota for Palmer.

Realistically the choice is Nkunku. If you don't want double chelsea (I wouldn't want double chelsea) then go Saka+Nkunku and free up the 0.5m to help out the Defence/GK everyone is ignoring

basically square peg round hole really. You just want spurs cover for that price point. You are better off looking for a player that gets consistent minutes at that price point and is good. Johnson will be rotated and early rested, if its a punt for 3 weeks or so ok, but longer, you will get frustrated.

So many options at 6.5. Bailey?

Haaland to Watkins doesn't afford Andreas to Salah.

          Reasonably simple maths.

So what I'm suggesting is a different combination.

Watkins, Gordon and a choice of Palmer/Foden/Saka/Son.

You could even do you and keep saying Bowen again.

            Current draft is

            Carlos
            TAA, Saliba, Gvardiol
Salah, Son (could easily be Saka), Eze, Nkunku
            Watkins, Isak, Wood

            Bentley, Rogers, 4.0, 4.0

Was considering swapping out Salah, Watkins and Nkunku for Haaland, Gordon and Andreas but not sure which is stronger.....

            What?

Haaland to Watkins frees up 6m. That's 5m to upgrade Gordon to Salah and Andreas to Nkunku. Simple maths. Why would he also willingly choose a mid-priced midfielder and budget mid over Salah (premium). Simple logic.

It's a shame I've had to explain the joke because that was one of my more golden replies for a while

I think Gordon is all but a must. Hence I left him in the selections. You can disagree.

So the 6m goes towards Andreas.

Foden/Saka/Son/Palmer are not mid priced. Simple maths to calculate the median.

If he really wanted to he could go Watkins, Bowen and Saka. Which ticks three of your "must have 5". Right?

unlikely to be any unless an injury. Bad idea to take a highly owned one. People ditching him may cause a price drop. If no 4.0 starts, pick a low owned one.

Except you also have to consider that one with too low an ownership will also suffer a price drop, so it's a bit of a tricky business sometimes.

Avoiding casual pick is the jey here. Many more serious pick the least owned and keep until WC, so price drop risk is smaller there.

Want to keep haaland till after Ipswich gw2 and then reassess ideally with 2ft. Thanks

I'd say this is pretty much as good as it gets with Salah & Haaland.

Defence seems pretty optimal regardless. Can move to any of the 4.5s.

The 6.5 mid can be the one that emerges from pre-season.

Don't love likely having to play Muniz each week but something has to give.

Thanks. Muniz has lovely opening fixtures

Nkunku could be a forest mid

Livramento a nice 4.5m if tripper goes. Thanks

I agree. But these teams may struggle if Haaland is not worth the money after gw2 and Salah isn't at his best. I am in only Haaland camp now.

Almost there. I'd look to improve the GK and defence though, maybe Palmer to Bowen and Eze to Gordon. That can get in guys like Saliba etc.

Don’t agree with this one bit. Palmer to Bowen is a massive downgrade… probably two points per game on average. You will not get that back by upgrading any of your defenders, expect maybe Davis (more on that next).

RN is correct that the defense is poor, but you can simply upgrade Davis to someone better, like maybe a Konsa or an even an Anderson or a Van De Ven at the same price point.

That's fair. Currently got the following:

          Raya, Turner
          Saliba, Gvardiol, Konsa, Andersen, 4.0
          Salah, Palmer, Bowen, Gordon, Rogers,
          Watkins, Havertz, Joao Pedro

Got 3 out of my 5. Still tinkering, considering downgrading the keeper and rogers to free up cash to upgrade joao pedro or even bolster the defence more

These pages keep echoing with the news that Joao Pedro is injured so do with that information what you will. It's a pretty good draft otherwise, but I think I would move Raya to a 5 and Pedro to Muniz/Wood.

Currently on this for whatever reason. Would ideally want a 4.5 GK but none appeal, and also worried about not having a route to any other midfield premiums in one transfer (without sacrificing Salah of course). Thoughts?

    Pope, Ward
    Gvardiol, Maatsen, Andersen, Castagne, Faes
    Salah, Gordon, Eze, Hudson-Odoi, Rogers
    Haaland, Isak, Muniz

Yeah, it looks a bit lopsided, but it could work very well. There are lots of midpriced midfield options. There's also plenty of value in the 4.5 defender bracket, so you're not badly placed to respond to emerging form.

        • 3 Years

Yeah they're liable to change as we get closer to the deadline - have had Van de Ven, Chelsea defenders, Konsa (before choosing Maatsen), Burn (before choosing Pope), Mykolenko in and out a few times, so at the moment they're basically placeholder names.

I know this is not template, but do you really think this is risky with the amount of talisman nailed penalty taker premiums I have?

    GK: Areola | Fab
DEF: Gvardiol | Mykolenko | Andersen | Konda | Bellis
    MID: Palmer | Saka | Son | Foden |
    H.Odoi
FWD: Isak | Liverpool striker (Darwin/Gakpo) | Muniz

    Muniz and CHO

Not risky at all, the only flaw might be Palmer, Saka, Foden getting brought back slowly from the Euros. Son is a good differential pick though.

Looks sound. Who knows, could top score in GW1.

There's reason to doubt some form and fitness, but it would be no surprise seeing these players haul.

I guess the risk is that, while you have a raft of talismanic premium players, you might only get a week's bragging out of that when everyone else jumps on the bandwagon, but if the Haaland or Salah wagons start rolling, it's a good bit harder for you to jump on.
