Looks good to me. You have the right Newcastle defender. Surprised not more people going livramento over hall. I think isak won’t be far behind haaland at the end of the season so he’d be the big omission for your team. Hard to afford them all I suppose

Livra seems like a good choice now that Trippier wants to leave. I like Hall too, but Livra is probably the better option now.

I think being new is an advantage . A decisive manager won’t be faffing around with new signings , they will go straight in. The problem is for the players he hasn’t sanctioned

I think for those going without haaland have a lovely opportunity to have 3 of the best 4 strikers without damaging the rest of the side. Every now and then haaland will go wild so have to be prepared to accept that .

    1. Sir Michael Taker
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 6 months ago

Thing is a lot of the Haaland teams can still afford at least one of those strikers too so you aren't up by much. That isn't the game, its Haaland vs Salah and then whatever you can do with 2.5m

      1. Frank Bruno Guimaraes
        • 1 Year
        1 year, 6 months ago

If haaland teams have one of the other big strikers then they are likely to be scraping the barrel with smith-Rowe, Nkunku et al.

        1. Sir Michael Taker
          • 11 Years
          1 year, 6 months ago

Salah teams probably in same boat. The strikers aren't the issue as Watkins at 9m is the next one down, still a good chunk cheaper than the next down from Salah mids. The 2.5m is hard to use I found in my drafts, its not enough and doesnt exactly get you from Nkunku up to Palmer for example.

I’d rather have Haaland over Havertz this week by far, and will probably sell him Watkins next week.

Other than Salah, there’s no one I feel like I’m really missing out on, and could easily get him next week too.

          1. Frank Bruno Guimaraes

Isak and Havertz will punish you over and over again. The question is can haaland compensate. Just my opinion and of course could be wrong

All I’m saying at 15m for haaland has been done for a reason. If forces weakness elsewhere . Unless it doesn’t and then I’m doomed

I've toyed with this WC team:

              Sanchez / 4.0
              TAA - Gvardiol - Robinson /4.0 - 4.0
              Palmer - Saka - Jota - Eze /4.5
              Haaland - Muniz - Armstrong

The duds in attack and not midfield, but could be the same result in the end 😉

              • 11 Years
              1 year, 6 months ago

As I said before I don't think the strikers will break the Haaland teams unless Watkins really takes off. Its what can you do in midfield instead of a Smith-Rowe or Nkunku. 2.5m on Nkunku gets you a Bruno F and change. 2.5m on Eze gets you up to your Fodens. Still very difficult in either setup to get to more than 1x 10m+ option.

Palace are trying to sign 3 CB's at the moment lol, Anderson is a great deal. Anderson wanted a big wage rise. we bought for £20m and sold for £30m. Anderson's wages have gone to 60k to 110k at Fulham.

We have 3 bids for three defenders on the table. Koussounou of Beyen L, Ajoura of Benfica and Lacroix of Wolfberg. Gosens, LWB from Union Berlin, a striker as Édouard may be off but Sarr can play there, Carney and Chaboloah at Chelsea, and Cherki from Lyon. are strong rumours
It is going to be chaotic 8 days. Liverpool are seriously considering Guehi. If they sell Gomez for 50m to Newcastle and Van der Berg to Brentford for 25m and they are after Gordon and they have Trent, Salah and VVD on the last year of their contracts.

I think i will hold Nkunku.

But Hall dropped to the bench for Robinson.

    Play 2

    A. Nkunku (a Wol)
    B. Pedro (H Man U)
    C. ESR (H LEI)

still 50/50 on TC Haaland (Man City not full first team, but Haaland fir and ready, but apparently not great against the older fashioned BIG and UGLY defenders like Greaves) ? 🙂

how many minutes he plays, I guess? If only a half maybe a match fitness thing?

even still there is doubt, I don't see any doubt with 2 and 3 (but ESR won't play 75 mins either.

Nkunku completed full preseason so match fitness shouldn't be an issue. Feels like more managing overall game time so he doesn't breakdown with a long term injury again

Muniz home game has a shade over Wood for me. Although Southampton are also porous.

I would agree! I am a manager of 3x top 4k finishes if that factors into your thinking. It is close but I would go Muniz

Preferred option here folks moving forward???

    A- Raya and Solanke
    Or
    B- Isak and 4.5 keeper

Could A be the way to go??!! No 4.5 keepers are particularly attractive. Are any one the 5.0 worth the extra 0.5?? Maybe Pope but Newcastle fixtures are so mixed

    Cheers everyone!!

I went Raya/Munoz instead of Hendo/Saliba as a Palace fan. But Solanke after this week, not sure? Mind you Isak isn't great either. I have Isak. I am sure he'll be OK.

Martinex for Villa is the only 5.0 I would look at, but I still prefer Maatsen at that price. Same with Pope and full backs. Robinson>Leno etc

Hello mate, yeah I did something similar i went Raya and Hall instead of Henderson and Saliba, worked well
So far, Martinez and Leno interest me too, Have Robinson so would probably lean towards Martinez there for my team
Yeah you’re right Isak will be fine always scores.only slight apprehension is 3 or Newcastles next 4 are away from home!! Haha they were a different team away from home last season

Hello mate. Haven't been here much so far. Happy new season!

You play BB, how did it go?

Yeah I had Isak 10 times and blanked 7 times, played 2, and benched the last game of the season, last year haha

Due to BPS, unless they score and assist regularly , I don't see much upside. I know Gabriel stats are better than Saliba, but I am going with Raya, then I can double up in defense or just have him as my defender.

Happy new season to you too mate!! Hope you have a good one!!

No BB In gameweek one mate just exploring options. Initial plan was to WC in 4, then in 3 and now I’m even considering doing it this week as there are lots of teams with 3 home games in the next 4 so could target them and till transfers and by the time gameweek 6/7 comes and People are using WC would be a able to do a mini WC

I’m on Both Raya and Gabriel atm, feel
Like this could be a good season to opt for a premium keeper over the usual 4.5 keepers, Raya is top of my list there I think, so many options this year!! Hard to know what’s best!! Haha

Isak will easily be the 2nd best striker this year, goals per game I think he can rival haaland. I hope people fall into the no Isak trap. I don’t get it , people put Nkunku in their team because he scored some goals in Germany about 3 seasons ago but doubt Isak who looks like he’s as good if not better than haaland at finishing in the premier league. Madness in my book. Each to their own I suppose

Cheers mate!!! Isak a great option, I thinks both him and Havertz if he stays as a CF can both rival
Haaland this year, Havertz especially if one I’m exited to watch how things develop

Could I grab some draft trade opinions please?

    A) Gordon and Daka (so Daka is being waivered for a garbage striker if not traded)

    B) Trossard and Nunez

For context I currently have no nailed strikers (Toney, Edouard, Daka)

      If Daka starts, A.

      Option B both don’t start

Of course. He missed most of last season with injury, so starting him three times in a week would be stupid.

Huge risk , if he plays he’s unlikely to do anything and that’s before the risk that maresca is on to him and wants him out the squad
