Now that the sheep are getting rid of a player they’ve never seen play before (Nkunku) is it time to put him in? The answer is no by the way.

I don't have any Villa, Chelsea or Brighton players

my transfer this week is most likely Amad to Eze

I think those burning their wildcard to get Haaland and Salah in will soon regret their decision. However, I'll there is an equal chance I'm crying when Jota blanks again and Mo goes mental.

I have Haaland Salah & Jota since GW1

the saving grace was getting the captain call right

I have haaland and salah from gw1. did you suffer everywhere else knowingly? i was too drunk and fed up swapping things.

its worked out ok up to now (first time for everything 😉 )

Thinking about waiting until GW12 for the wildcard. In case multiple injuries dont force me to use it earlier. Not loading on arsenal for a 3week period, most likely Gabriel in as long term.

I'm sure there's a team out there that will try but I doubt they'll succeed. It's too difficult to predict and time hauls among the premiums that aren't Haaland + Salah.

So realistically, you'll fare much better by sticking to the template captains and getting on and off fixture swings from the right teams.

      1. F4L
        • 11 Years
        1 year, 11 months ago

yeah fair enough, but a team like:

        Raya (4)
        TAA (4.9) Robbo (4.4) Munoz (3.7)
        (P)almer-perma (13.7) Saka (6.5) Bruno (5.5) Gordon (5.2) Eze (5.1)
        Isak (5.7) Havertz (5.5)

is getting 64-ish points per GW for a fair estimate on what i've seen so far on the assumption everyone in the XI starts 34/35 matches (ok unlikely but there are other options when drastic loss of form happens/injuries). Aint gonna win FPL unless you absolutely smash out the park the timing on switching between 7-9mil mids/attackers but 64x38 + 90 for DGWs + 50 extra from chips is giving you 2583 points, that's very likely top 100k, likely top 50k. pretty easy going, dont have to worry about picking the wrong cheapies and seeing them blank, but pretty boring way to play the game granted

        1. MJF
          1 year, 11 months ago

ppg/points per start from previous seasons, initial underlying stats/last seasons underlying stats and general eye test. they're all established PL players (well at least 1 full season under their belts) bar Munoz so abit easier to predict

I’m on WC. Is it stupid to play without Haaland? I can have a perfectly balanced team without him.

    Raya (4.0)
    TAA - Robinson - Konsa (4.0, 4.0)
    Salah - Saka - Palmer - Mbeumo - Rogers
    Havertz - Solanke (Joao Pedro)

    What do you think?

Definitely not stupid to go without Haaland. Ok you will have to watch the hattricks but I still think without Haaland can be a better option . People who have him are feeling confident that they know what they are doing. Some won’t ,some will. I say do what you prefer and don’t be swayed either way . There will be a lot of terrible players will haaland and they are still terrible .

The question isn’t really about Haaland and how good he is. All the evidence is there , it isn’t clever to spot he’s good. So not picking him isn’t a lack of faith it’s a belief that overall you can score more points without him. People who believe they can do this are against the grain which some people struggle with. Think of the barrel scraping going on with the rest of some of the haaland teams to counter in some part the fear he will score 5

What do you mean by balance? Given City’s fixtures from GW7 I think no Haaland is ludicrous. Part of the reason I’m planning to WC GW12 is that I think that might be a better time to seriously consider no Haaland.

I kinda feel like it's a regression towards normality in all honesty. How often can we expect a nation like Belgium to dominate the football landscape? Furthermore, how often can they be expected to produce the likes of peak De Bruyne?

I think you pay a premium for security. There might be a 4.5m making him not worth but right now it feels pot luck who - I have Sanchez. Whereas Raya feels like pretty secure consistent points, so you pay probably 0.5m premium above his true worth for that security,

It's been 3 weeks and so many people playing the WC because they think they've cracked the optimal team...there's no pattern yet don't think salah and haaland will get double digits every week. Watkins might still be a good option with these fixtures and same as Isak who has been underwhelming. That's why it's probably better to use WC when there's a set of fixture swings or your team is objectively not doing well

Too risky at the back (WC)?

    Raya (4.0)
    TAA, Lewis, Robinson (THB, Mosq.)
    Salah, Mbuemo, Eze, Minteh, Rogers
    Haaland, Havertz, Pedro

1 of the front 8 to be benched each week, Mbuemo this week.

Minteh to winks, upgrade 4.0 defence to two 4.5 defenders, also Allison better option for next 9 game weeks.

    Allison
    Lewis Dunk Digne
    Salah Palmer Eze Rogers
    Halland Havertz Pedro

    Fabianski Robinson winks Greavs

Why are people suddenly saying Havertz is likely to play in midfield when he's proven to be a good forward? Odegaard injury can be replaced with other midfielders

Sold Smith-Rowe and loaned out Vieira

Talk of dropping Havertz back cuz of the Rice suspension and playing Jesus up front.

Arsenal fan and I don’t see any serious alternatives. Kai will play 8 and Jesus up top I reckon

arteta's pre-season quotes made it look like Havertz in midfield is still very much something he considers viable
