    Just putting this out there.
For 3 years on the trot many of us on here played a charity football tournament for charity in London. This was all pre Covid. We all had a great time and so many of us are still in touch and are in a big mini league.
We had people coming from all over including, Manchester, Southampton, Birmingham and even Newcastle.
It was 4 teams of 11 a side and was quite competitive. There were awards for best player and hardest worker.
The charities included MIND, testicular cancer and ocular cancer, for a member on here who sadly lost his battle with ocular cancer, his name on here was Absinthe.
I photographed the events and played in 1.
Would anyone on here be up for the same thing? I’ve met many of you IRL in many countries around the world and will even be meeting Walkman666 in New York in December.
I would get the help of some of the OG mods if all goes well. Mark Sutherns and Jonty came to them so was also a good opportunity for true FPL geeks and those that just want to meet. Players of all levels welcome and we'll go for a couple of drinks afterwards.
There would be plenty of notice, ideally in the Spring of 2025.

    Just comment here if interested.

Actually I'll have a think about it & see what I can do. I still travel to the UK a few times a year to visit friends/family so maybe I can incorporate it into a trip if the dates work out

Ok I will do. I'm just going to put this up a few times. I won't spam it but would be really nice to get it back to an annual thing. It really brought a lot of people together. I have many people part of WhatsApp groups that haven't even used this website that chat to people who are on here all the time.

Refereeing is safer for me. I can no longer take part in the game after being subjected to several vicious two footed tackles last time.

      Hi Rupert,

Brilliant idea! They were all great fun, from the football to the socialising afterwards, I wish I was still living in the UK, I would love to come along.

I found this article reviewing the first tournament with a collection of your photos https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2018/04/09/ffscout-charity-cup-review money donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation.

The second tournament raised money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2018/11/21/goals-galore-in-latest-ffscout-charity-cup

And the third one from 2019 raised money for the Stroke association (I still have a box of their t-shirts tucked away, could perhaps be used for the next tournament?) https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2019/08/04/scout-users-and-staff-raise-money-for-charity

A special mention to former Hall of Fame number one Peter (aka MyPrettyPony) for all his hard work organising those first three events.

Not sure which route to take, so many options.

    Raya
    TAA, Ait-Nouri, Gabriel
    Palmer, Mbeumo, Foden, Semenyo
    Haaland, Cunha, Wood
    4.0, Dibling, Mykolenko, Greaves
    1FT, 0.2 ITB

    A - TAA -> Gvardiol
    B - TAA, Foden -> Gvardiol, Bruno/Garnacho (-4)
C - Haaland, Foden -> Welbeck, Salah (-4), leaves money for Dibling -> Saka in GW12
    D - Foden -> Bruno/Garnacho

what about TAA & Foden > cheap defender and Salah?

feels like salah should be the priority here

        Or this

    2. Atimis
      • 9 Years

Honestly it's tricky with the defs while selling Haaland this week for a hit can backfire...Foden to Bruno now and maybe Haaland to Salah next week -4?

  3. Atimis
    • 9 Years
    1 year, 5 months ago

Gabriel or TAA worth transferring out this week, especially looking at Gvardiol, Dalot or RAN in? Just means a hit to get Palmer next week (otherwise for free).

      • 10 Years

I mean Wolves defence looks a tad dodgy, but Ait Nouri good for attacking returns but nearing a ban..

Yeah, one yellow and I'm cooked, Gab and TAA not looking bad for GW12

I think with no teams really keeping clean sheets this year, Gvardiol is the most important defender in the game. I'd probably just go for it.

      1. Atimis
        • 9 Years

Even if it effectively costs me -4 next week to get Palmer?

I wouldn't waste transfers on defenders especially prior to international break. None of the defenders are keeping clean sheets at the moment and you are better having more transfers in case there are injuries

I would keep, especially if that means no hit next week. TAA has two good fixtures so I would keep him for those.

      1. Atimis
        • 9 Years

Probably wouldn't like to take a hit to sell Gab or TAA so maybe it's right to just sit tight

Thoughts on Joao Pedro minutes going forward? Apparently back in training but he didn't make the squad travelling to Liverpool. Do you think he could be back for the game against Bournemouth in GW12? There is international break in between so quite a high chance imho.

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 7 Years

Difficult to say as the landscape has changed with the long injury and both Welbeck and Rutter have done well. I think he'll be eased in and take mins off Rutter

      1. Sgt Frank Drebin
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 5 months ago

Yeah, I think it's between him and Rutter, tbh. Think Welbeck is going to compete with Ferguson, but not quite sure about that. But anyway, Rutter has done well recently, so there is no rush, but with both 100% fit, I think it should be JP with higher starting priority. Not sure when JP is going to be completely fit, though.

Finally got the "four premiums" in my team and Mbeumo. Defences aren't keeping clean sheets, so not overly concerned about my defence. Most have RAN and Lewis, so probably just missing TAA, but Kelleher temporarily can cover a CS. Can switch to a playing 4.0 Fabianski when Allison returns.

Yea i think its just TAA not returning and not looking like keeping CS with his price is pushing me to dump him and then may as well make use of additional funds. that and price rises!! Appreciate the input though

I have 3 ft atm and have been steadily rising into top 200k after a gw4 wc from 5m or so where I had a nightmare start so I'm in good shape mostly tbh! Just don't see any taa hauls incoming and would fancy arsenal or city to have better returns for next 10 or so.

Not a huge fan of investing into United players. Uncertainy with how he fits into Amorim setup.

Also I don't think using a transfer on a Spurs player is best long term as I expect folks to jump off Spurs players from G12

Tbh I'm leaning away from this one a bit. I had a look at Garnacho preseason and he really didn't look like much. Low attacking numbers, average returns. I was hoping he'd look really good vs Chelsea but he was only okay.

I think B or D is what I'm thinking. Getting Saka early seems decent and sets me up quite well.

If I do D, I could do Salah + Watkins/Jackson in for Haaland + Johnson in GW12 on a hit which would give me:

        Salah, Palmer, Saka, Mbeumo, Rogers
        Jackson, Strand Larsen, Raul.

B but how does upgrading Dibling to Semenyo then Saka transfer in the following GW impact the rest of your attackers

I have Rogers as 7th attacker atm. I kind of want him to be 8th and rotate him around considering the fixture congestion.

Feels like it boils down to Salah v Haaland from 12 onwards

D and then see if you want to do Johnson to Semenyo or Garnacho later.

Good shout. Was thinking maybe Mazroui or Martinez from United for the next few. Then Hall after that? But maybe I should go with Hall straight away?

More importantly, is that Mirandinha in your grav?

    A) Son + TAA to Salah + Hall (anyone up to 4.5) next week for free
    B) Haaland + Semenyo or Rogers to Solanke(?) + Salah (-4)

    Fabianski
    TAA Gabriel Lewis
    Palmer Son Mbuemo Semenyo
    Haaland Wissa Larsen

    Sanchez Rogers Mykolenko Greaves

    Haaland to any other FWD

DCL is a priority sell unless you can bench him. I wouldn't take the hit or sell Johnson v Ipswich this GW

How come you spend so much on keepers when you’ve got so much experience?

You can have 12 years of continually growing experience to become what you are or you can have 1 year's experience continually repeating the same mistakes each season.

        A common misconception.

Anyone interested in Bruno? Next 3 for United is crazy. United have been creating a lot of chances(let's not talk about their finishing) and Bruno is on pens, set pieces, almost central to everything they do.
