Will do Haaland/Johnson —> Isak/Salah for free now.

How’s the team looking? Does it need the WC this week?

    Henderson
    TAA VVD Saliba
    Salah Palmer Mbuemo ESR
    Isak Cunha Wissa

    Fabianski Rogers Robinson Barco

Or maybe, "If you've missed the boat already, GW12 could be the perfect time to wildcard"

The perfect time was during Arsenal's and Pools great run of fixtures, when "everyone" got their defenders, even doubling up.

Looks good. I've got similar as I'm sure lots WC'ing will have but have the Bruno slot is an enabler and one of your enabling strikers is Nico Jackson for me currently but could be Watkins or Havertz or whoever. Already have Isak with them, he's cemented his place provided he stays fit over the IB. There will be a lot of similar teams its just whether you go for Bruno or Mbuemo in midfield and two enabling strikers or you have two enabling mids and two more expensive strikers with one enabling striker. One thing I'm not overly keen on is Verbruggen in goal. I've ended up with Van Hecke in defence and it feels a bit icky, Brighton concede a lot of good chances, just a fixture pick at the moment but I'm not sure a Brighton defensive option will remain for me by GW12 start.

Very good. I can't afford Bruno & Semenyo in mine so your TV must be decent!

Same front 3 and Salah Saka Palmer, with Mbuemo & Rogers.

Prefer Gvardiol to Gabriel, and not sure if Dalot injured?

They love that shot stat about Semenyo. Trouble is and its rarely mentioned, his XG per shot is 0.08 and I don't think he's a particularly elite finisher. Evanilson gets half the amount of shots as Semenyo per 90 but they are from much more promising positions and he's starting to look really confident and like he is adapting well to the league. I don't have a spot in my team for Evanilson but if I did I'd be taking him over Semenyo, particularly given the yellow card situation for Semenyo who is still a nice pick in isolation with the fixtures.

Cunha Isak Pedro are the strikers to go for.

yeah that's fair. Not sure on Pedro yet I knew he'd be very popular because he was in pre-season. If he's as important to them as he sounds like he is then I can see them going gentle on him through this busy period.

I'm staggered by the rank considering they wildcarded Haaland out after Ipswich but before West Ham, they've buried JP on their bench since the injury and held onto DCL. Some very unusual moves for such a good rank

      1. Hazz
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Clearly my decision to hold DCL for so long was a great decision, unlucky outcome. That's the excuse I'll use anyway...

      2. mookie
        • 12 Years

He says that he has very little time for FPL, so probably makes data based decisions. I would assume the data is with with no context, as in, no Arsenal RCs, no Odegaard...
Based on his history it's working very nicely.
I sold Haaland after West Ham and kept an injured Pedro for 5 GW's without him playing a single minute for my team. I can see how some of the decisions made sense and I'm not an analytics guy.

        1. Sir Michael Taker
          • 11 Years
          1 year, 5 months ago

Yeah but he sold Haaland after the Ipswich game. Its worked out fine looking at the rank but why would you sell the guy after a hat-trick?

          1. Sir Michael Taker
            • 11 Years
            1 year, 5 months ago

I think he's got more time than he's letting on for FPL. Look at his rank history, you can't be that good at FPL without putting in a fair chunk of time surely? Not finished outside the top 28k in 5 previous seasons.

            1. mookie
              • 12 Years

Not everyone is a firm believer in Nitzsche's doctrine of eternal recurrence aka "time is a flat circle" and whoever did well last week, will keep on doing well over and over again-forever.

          2. mookie
            • 12 Years
            1 year, 5 months ago

Probably because based on data it was unsustainable. I sold him after 2 hat-tricks and Ben Crellin sold him after 2 hat-tricks and a brace.
It's not about one player but about the team and not about one fixture but about the mid to long term.
e.g. Haaland team with X transfers over 6+ GWs or Haaland-less team with Y transfers over 6+ fixtures.

            1. mookie
              • 12 Years

If he would've kept Haaland on his WC team he would've sold him anyway after WHU or BRE based on data and splashing the money would've cost him a bunch of FTs.
He also sold Gvardiol in GW10 after 10 and 9 pointers when everyone was buying him.

    1) Solanke

    4) Joao Pedro

    Sels // Fabianski

TV hasn’t mattered that much in the last few seasons. With so many viable budget players this season - and underperforming premiums - not sure it matters that much.

Sold him on a WC. Main reason isn't necessarily to do with him bar his price, the options outside of the premiums in midfield are scarce whereas they are plentiful up front so I'd rather have the bulk of the budget in midfield at the moment. He'll score and I'm fine with that, feel like the team is much more balanced without him and also I've got at least 2 other good captaincy options in Salah and Palmer.

    A) Keep solanke for 8 gameweeks
    B) Buy havertz for 8
    C) Buy N. Jackson for 8
    D) Buy Watkins for 4 then Havertz for 4
    E) Buy Watkins for 4 then N. Jackson for 4

Which one would you go for?

Neither. Cunha, Wissa, Raul all better. Gun to head, Havertz.

    Sanchez | 4.0
    Gabriel | Dalot | RAN | Faes | Greaves
    Salah | Bruno | Palmer | Mbeumo | Son
    Jackson | Wissa | Cunha

How would you solve benching dilemma going forward in upfront 8? Jackson to Pedro?

You can drop Son. Bruno will be droppable after couple of weeks as well.

Jackson to Pedro is a big no from me

To solve benching headaches buy the cheapest playing mid or fwd. I’d be doing Son to Winks and using the change to get Isak and a better defender than Faes.

Palmer got more points in GW6 than GW7-11 total. Chelsea are playing well, sharing around their attacking returns. Has Maresca made tactical tweaks to reduce his FPLness? Are his returns justifying his price when cheaper mids are in better form? One to sell ad buy back when his form picks up? I have Salah, Mbeumo, Saka, Palmer and Semenyo and considering selling Palmer for Bruno.

He could/should have had somekind of return vs arsenal, but he is playing deeper more, so could be tactical.

5 tricky fixtures during that period with only 6 goals scored by them. He was involved in 2 of them. I wouldn't worry much about him at this stage.

Foden to Palmer and Diaz to Salah needs to be done. How much cash will that require?

    Pedro or Welbeck?

I would say Pedro now that he is back fit. He has already showed his impact for Brighton. Welbeck still a great option and will tick over for the duration, I just feel that Pedro will be more of a threat. It’s close though.

I'm keeping Welbeck because I already own him. If buying now, I would probably risk it with Pedro.

Should I keep Havertz because of fixture ticker or should I go for someone who is more consistent/reliable?

Not sure if he get lots chances in current model but like him as differential. Considering him on WC but currently on Bruno+chipper forward(Cunha, JP, Wissa or Larsen)

I think he'll become more of an option now Odegaard is back and he can go back to being that man in the middle again. Plus the fixtures get better and he's tended to struggle against the better defences. He's on my radar as one to monitor.
