    Merry Christmas all.
    the pondering hasnt stopped.

If Jota starts where does Darwin play?

      Darwin wont play

Seems out of favour but has still played every second game.

You think Diaz starts out left? Gakpo has played 3 games in 7 days

I don't think Jota is ready to start. Nunez up top and Diaz left winger looks more likely.

You're gonna want to bring in TAA at some point soon anyway and there is a huge upside for this fixture. He scored 24 points against Leicester on Boxing Day a few years back and he's likely to get a big score again this week.

      It's worth the hit

I’ve gone odegaard as Saka replacement.
Was thinking Bruno but already have Amad and don’t want to double up. Also adding Saka’s 0.11 xA per start to Odegaard’s Xgi makes his stats better than Bruno’s with the better fixtures (IPS, bre, bri). Considering Arsenal’s reliance on set pieces, and assuming Odegaard will take most of them now, he is the standout for me.
Also when Saka was out the end of last season, Odegaard got 24 points in 3 games (including City)

    1. JT11fc
      • 7 Years

Interesting, had narrowed to Diaz, Bruno, Martinelli but Odegaard does have appeal.

People don’t want Diaz because he’s rotation risk, fair enough. But then go for Foden? Makes no sense. Yeah I know Foden has started lately, but it’s Pep. And City in relegation form.

    1. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 15 Years

I think Foden is way more nailed than Diaz. Way more. When fit he's started every game for City.

They also have a lot fewer reliable options in the attacking positions.

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 11 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

I think they're similar i.e. both very important but both likely to be benched every 3-4 games

          • 15 Years

I don't agree. I think Foden starts every game over the next few weeks when fit. He plays 3/3 games while Diaz is benched in at least one.

      2. mookie
        • 12 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

Agree with this 100%. A tired Foden is fitter than a rested Gundo, KDB or Bernardo.

Foden is way more nailed than Diaz tbf
Issue with Liverpool is they have two options for every position bar Salah

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 11 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

I think Fodens a 90 minute man when he starts which Diaz isnt but if you dont think Pep rotates him out every now and then I think thats a mistake. Pep does Pep things which nobody can rationalise.

    3. Tonyawesome69
      • 7 Years

The mins are there for Foden, issue is City/Foden form and too much of a gamble for me. Sure, fixtures breed form but rather see something first before going there

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Right, on to the important stuff...replacing Saka..after much thought i narrowed it down to:

    A - Odegaard
    B - Luis Diaz

    Opinions and justify please.

    1. The Tonberry
      • 2 Years

My choice is between Foden and Martinelli but leaning towards the Arsenal attacker as they are coming up against the weaker defences in the league this year.

Given the choice of Odegaard and Diaz, I'd go with Odegaard as Diaz is too much a minutes risk

      1. ΒAZEΛOS
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 11 Years

Diaz certainly more explosive and able to get a haul (when he starts) than Odegaard, but i agree, the minutes risk is what i'm also worried about. Cheers

    2. Sir Michael Taker
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Very different options. Suspect Odegaard is slow and steady, reliable. He won't be Saka as he doesnt have that open play threat. Diaz could be explosive but highly likely to be benched every few games where he seems to struggle. Not part of the equation but I'd rather take a punt on Maddison if it was a mins risk player as benchings dont seem to matter to him as much. Sorry that wasn't part of the question. Depends on your risk appetite and if you will be ok with the benchings for Diaz which are a certainty.
