That’s clearly a skill issue. Also why would you take out Kulu with the possibility of a DGW next

I'm pretty sure I did the same in my first season playing - buying a player early & then selling for a hit within the same GW (Reece or Chilwell, maybe even both at some stage). Took upwards of 25 hits too. Ironically, that was still my best finish! I've reined in the price chasing a little since then but can't entirely quell the risk-taking since that's part of the fun for me

Would be funny if it happens. Surely not Robinson though. Silva AM would be a lock for me.

Why would you fance a Silva AM?
Ok nottingham is a tablefixture, but I doubt they will win it. Other 3 are not and could see them losing even 2 of those.

          Which 3?
Ange vs United at home and Fulham away(Ipswich away after if you want to stick)
Silva vs. Forest at home and Spurs home(Palace at home if you want to stick)

Silva slightly better odds vs Forest than Ange vs United as it stands. You'd expect Fulham at home to be favorites vs Spurs.

The only scenario that'll take me off Salah (C) vs Wolves is Palmer getting a DGW

      1. Tommy Template
        • 11 Years

One of those Palmer games would be ARS away and Palmer/Chelsea go into hiding in the big games so it may as well be a single GW

        1. Ze_Austin

...against Brighton, who've just conceded 7, and he's put 4 past them already this season

That was when Palmer's form was much better, though. So it's not a no-brainer. Just the only thing that can take me off Salah vs Wolves

Very good point about Brighton. If Tariq Lamptey is playing anything is possible even in a single gw. Probably the two worst defensive displays bar Southampton I've witnessed this season have been Brighton yesterday and the Chelsea reverse fixture.

If they get knocked out? None

Everything about the AM chip is based on the team, not the person of the manager. I guess they couldn't find a better name than that, so it makes sense

But AM is about the team, not coach

At the end of the Assistant Manager's 3 weeks, is their price refunded to your team, like it was a loan, or is it gone ? Also, if you switch to a less expensive manager do you have to pay again on top of what you paid, or is the difference refunded ? Can't find these answers on FPL

      1. FantaCity

Thanks, I had effectively missed this line :
"Once the three Gameweeks are completed, the manager will leave your team, and their cost will return to your budget."

It is still not stipulated what happens to the difference when you change down to cheaper, but guessing it will be refunded immediately

Are Salah TCers happy with result so far? Honestly even he blanks next game 16pts in the bag already, I'd have been pretty happy with that after 2 games

You'd have to be delighted with it and ironically the news Friday and more assmanning has meant you probably get more impact from it than without the double doubles. Word of caution though, 25 looks even better for Salah's prospects if it happens. Wolves and Villa are so leaky they have the plumber on speed dial.

Everyone who played a chip this week did fine, no big gains as it stands.
      Salah(TC) vs Salah(c) is 16 points, Moyes got 12 and Slot 10.

If you took a -8 to go from Salah(TC) to Slot AM, then yeah, you're probably not happy.

Obviously some did AM Moyes plus 3 Pool and they are very happy currently but could all change after 24 finishes. They could be miles better off or slightly worse who knows.

Many took atleast a -4p hit to go AM slot.
And they missed out on either Gakpo 5p or TAA 6p. So I reckon TC was the way to go.

Between him and Kluivert last gw, I chose to bring him in.
He is 2 YCs away from suspension but at least possible DGW coming.
Will surely move to Kluivert/Dango after gw 25/26.
Hat trick in UCL shows that he’s not that bad and he can haul vs Ipswich easily.

So far anyone who played a chip must be happy, just don’t think there will be another gw where your TC outscores the AM quite easily like Salah did over Slot and I have AM Slot, still 2nd game remaining but TCers must be very happy, they can play AM in 25 also

Everton look much better offensively under Moyes, but that could play into Liverpool's hands and open up more chances for Salah.

Absolutely. Some were planning Moyes > Emery in GW25 (if Villa double) but I'm not sure Emery is a great play after last night's showing against Wolves. Think many will take a -4 to get Slot (if Pool double) or go Silva.

    A summary of my season:

I played TC in gw9 on Haaland, dreadful decision gave me only 6pts despite Haaland having over 2xG

I played AM on Slot this gw, mainly because people were going to TC Salah so I thought if Salah is to do good then probably Slot will do good too so I will hedge the risk of not TCing Mo.

On 66k OR at the moment. I’m happy about my season. Just having one chip less than the others and AM is a strong chip actually that can destroy my rank if others deploy it wisely.

My current plan is having 11 players for 29, and rolling some transfers till gw31 because my team looks good, so I have at least 4 FTs the time DGWs are announced(gw30/31). WC right after that, using the free transfers to maximise doublers, BB33/36 and FH34.

Surely it's too early to hail which chip strategy has worked best? The EFL cup semi results and outcome of the Liverpool derby will give a better picture right?

The Merseyside derby for sure, a week on Wednesday.

Plenty of time to pivot AM for anyone active or anyone playing it after the semi finals finish.

Well yeah obviously. We’ll only know at the end of the season and you’d have to keep track of every game week.

Hard to say, not knowing if Liverpool will double or if Trent will play the second game.

If Liverpool don't get a second double, advantage is probably with TCers who can switch to AM in 25.

Yeah and what about when everything is in reverse? There’s a very long way to go before we know which was better.
I still have TC and will use it later down the line. And will have to compare that TC plus two games afterwards with AM in mind to get a true comparison.

Yeah of course, but points in the bank and all that.

We've all had our share of TC fails over the years. Sane's 3 pointer being a memorable one of mine.

Assuming we will have the most likely outcomes - Pool (still) and Newcastle progressing, which are your prime picks for the DGW25? Factoring in AM as well.

    1. Conners

I'll be using a FT on a Bournemouth mid regardless of the doubles.

If Trent is confirmed out, and Liverpool get a second double, I'll take a hit to bring in a doubler for Trent and activate AM Slot.

Most are loaded up on Pool, so that only leaves Villa assets.
With Watkins questionable and new signings it's a bit of a mess right now. Will have to see how they line up vs Spurs in the FA Cup next week.

I assume most teams look pretty good for next week as it stands.

      Newcastle players become a sell

Unless Arsenal rock up there and win, overcoming the two goal deficit.

That would chance FH29 outlook, in favour of holding it for gw34.

Yeah, especially if you need to free up an extra million for Slott.

Otherwise Diaz can probably go to a Bournemouth midfielder.

May as well sit tight till Thursday night.

Not necessarily... who do you mean by doubling defender? I certainly wouldn't want any piece of Villa defence right now, and not sure about e.g. TAA - Bradley given the blank coming up. 25 is nice for AM slot but also need a plan for 26/7. I'm going to TC 25 so still holding AM for later

      1. tbos83
        • 5 Years

Yeah - no obvious candidates. Will see how Thursday pans out then make a call. TC25 could work out very well

One other issue for me is I really don't like any of the fixtures in 27 for AM. Maybe Palace v Villa if bonus still applies, or Maresca v SOU if Chelsea rediscover some smashing form, but not thrilled with either

What do people think of Isak?
Value tied up on him make him not for sale but,
I’m a little bit worried other teams put 2 defenders on him to stop him and it works so far, Bournemouth and Fulham did it.
    Next 5 not looking good:
    Mci,Nfo,Liv,Whu,blank

    2. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

Don't forget how awful City have been defensively. Chelsea game didn't change much for me in that sense - looked so fragile when pressed & only relief came from Chelsea's cowardly attempt to defend their one goal lead. Isak definitely gets that game before I decide, and I'm pretty reluctant to sell Gordon either actually. Been looking at possibility of WC26/7, in which case I would consider offloading Isak for a few weeks but still none of the replacements are really screaming out to me

      1. Shark Team
        • 8 Years

True, he might do very well vs city and he has a good history vs Forest

    3. mookie

I think it's more about the lack of option than Isak himself. I'd love to take him on during that run but with who? Other forwards have either similar fixtures, or are not firing.

Ben Crellin was planning on doing Isak>Watkins before Watkins injury and Villa new signings.

Watkins is good but doesn’t fits my plan of no FH29 so I’m not going for him, I just like a fwd line of Cunha Wood Wissa

Keeping him alongside Wood and Gakpo for now. Have scaled back exposure to Newcastle elsewhere though (just Isak currently).

I also have Isak only, too many good mids rn ahead of Gordon and I’d be comfortable playing Hall again in gw 30 and onwards

Watching Cunha. Might return to him if Gakpo rotated as Pool progress in CL. Wissa tempting but feel happy enough with just Mbeumo for now. Watkins not value for money currently. Nor is Haaland.

Anyone else fall for DGW madness & the AM chip?

Removed Wood & Milenko for Ndaiye & Myko - 17 so far but Everton have another game so hopefully no pain.

AM Moyes started well & confidence is high for the Goodison fixture.
