      Going by the rules.

      It’s a shot on target and saved by Mbeumo, ball ricochets out heading towards to Carvalho.
      Defender tries to tackle/intercept as Carvalho collects it and scores.

      So no assist or Mbeumo.

      Tbf Bruno was given one nearly exactly the same as that yester year.
      But having seen it NOW, I agree no assist at all.

      People don’t like my opinions clearly, but one I stand by is moving to Opta assists plus points awarded for set pieces won that are scored.
      Too much grey area otherwise.

    Replay for Carvalho goal. Look at the last angle at around 36seconds. It does look like a Wissa kicked to Carvalho. Not fussed either way as a Mbuemo capper, I’d lose two points only.

      Possibly, hard to tell, either way probably not enough to deem as a pass or intended target of Carvalho.

      It’s funny though isn’t it, the rules, because in reality, fpl aside it’s Mbeumo who has made that goal, so if anyone should get it it’s him.
      I think no assist is the right decision using their rules though.

        Your use of intended target is strange. That only comes into play following a deflection. If he kicks the ball directly to Carvalho and he scores, it’s an assist regardless of if he intended to give it to him or not

          But there is a deflection, the defender definitely touches it, so therefore if Wissa got there first then it deflected off the defender to Carvalho, so intended target logic will apply.

                Look at the angle the defender is coming across from even. If he kicks it and Wissa doesn’t get a touch then the ball is going wide in the opposite direction

                    Yes - you just don’t expect the Leicester defender to try and control it in that direction, but when you notice it that’s what they will probably favour in respect to it being close

                  What makes the tricky is the Leicester defender’s movement, he bizarrely turns and faces the direction the ball goes to, I.e right in front of Carvalho.

                  You could be right though.

                  The only way this can ever be consistent though is using Opta assists, but they probably revel on the noise and moaning about it.
