GAMEWEEK 39 SCOUT PICKS

Goalkeeper
The reliable James Trafford (G) is our selection between the sticks this Gameweek, as he looks to break defensive records with Burnley. This is a must-win game for Burnley in their goal of the Championship title, and Trafford is expected to deliver. He is the highest scoring keeper in Fantasy EFL with 262 total points and now faces a Millwall side whose attack ranks bottom five in the division.
Defenders
Junior Firpo (D) has been in stellar form and is the perfect defensive option for this weekend. He has recorded 34 Fantasy points across his last three matches thanks to three clean sheets (+15), a goal (+7), assist (+3) and two tackles (+1). He now averages 7.3 Fantasy points per Gameweek, and has a highly significant fixture against 23rd-placed Plymouth Argyle (A). There is no better opportunity than this for Firpo to display his versatility and Fantasy dominance. If unfit, wing-back partner Jayden Bogle (D) is the obvious choice.
The highest-scoring defender [337] in Fantasy EFL, Macauley Gillesphey (D), has earned a spot in our final scout team of the season. He boasts three double-digit hauls in his last four matches, largely as a result of defensive contributions. Burton Albion (H) are his opponents this Gameweek, the seventh-worst offensive side in the division, and have secured survival. With little to play for, the Addicks will be looking to turn their form around heading into the play-offs.
Midfielders
Ossama Ashley (M) has been a surprisingly overlooked option in midfield this season but is our top pick this week. Despite averaging 8.8 Fantasy points per game since returning from injury, the interceptions master has an ownership of just 0.7%. He has recorded a stunning 70 interceptions in 32 matches and now faces Carlisle United (A), a side who are set to be relegated. Provided the Ammies win, they will get into the Play-Offs, which should spur them on.
Partnering him is Reading’s Lewis Wing (M), who rounds off our midfield as he looks to extend his incredible form and end the season strong. His versatility is unmatched, with 48 interceptions (+96), eight goals (+48) and nine assists (+27) this league campaign. He is the second-highest scoring midfielder in Fantasy [285] and faces a defensively weak Barnsley side. The Reds have conceded in 39 of their 45 games so far. The Royals must win and hope Leyton Orient drop points to make the Play-Offs, spurring them on in front of their home faithful.
Forwards
Conversely, Leyton Orient’s Charlie Kelman (F) has impressed thoroughly in his incredible breakout season, and we back him to return in his final game. He has netted 21 times (+105) and assisted eight goals (+24), making him League One’s top goalscorer. His average of 5.1 Fantasy points per game is exceptional for a forward and he now faces a Huddersfield Town (A) side who have lost their last five league games. Orient have won five in a row, are unbeaten in six, and are expected to grab the Play-Off spot with both hands.
Completing the VII, Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season, and the EFL’s top goalscorer, Michael Cheek (F), takes the final spot in our Scout Picks. His tally of 23 goals (+115) is the most in the EFL this season and he has coupled this with six assists (+18) to truly demonstrate his dominance. His Gameweek 39 opponents, Cheltenham Town (H), concede 1.5 goals per game and have nothing to play for.
Club Picks
Leyton Orient are our first club pick, as we back the O’s to win their last game of the season. They have won each of their last five games, scoring 2+ goals in four of them. Their opponents, Huddersfield Town (A), have lost 11 of their last 14 games and have struggled massively recently.
Completing the final regular Gameweek 39 Scout Picks, Bradford City are another side who we expect to win their last game. They must win against Fleetwood Town (H) in order to be promoted. The Cod Army are out of promotion contention, and have only one victory in their last five games. The Bantams may be out of form, but in front of a sell-out crowd, we expect Graham Alexander’s side to get over the line.
A maximum of 20 points are up for grabs if both sides haul.
