FPL 2025/26 first draft team reveals: Is a ‘threemium’ viable?

Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) or no Salah? Salah and Erling Haaland (£14.0m)? Salah and Cole Palmer (£10.5m)?

Why not have all three?! Costing a whopping £39m, it’s not easy to fit them into a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) squad.

However, it could be worth it; the trio scored 739 Fantasy points between them last season, and that’s with Palmer and Haaland having significant patches of poor form.

In this article, I’ll talk through a hypothetical ‘threemium’ FPL draft and weigh up the pros and cons of such an approach.

Starting to come around to the idea of FH4 WC7.

Means can go Haaland over Salah until the wildcard but have Salah for the Burnley game.

Can also get more Arsenal assets in GW7 for their good run.

BB should become easy thereafter as we should know who the cheap assets are and who the whipping boys are to target.

Isn't the team in this article technically a four-mium (quadium?) because VVD is a premium defender?
Also, I don't like the GW2 captaincy headache. 66.6666% chance of picking the wrong captain.

I think if you want Palmer and Haaland, then the solution is having Wirtz instead of Salah.

Good team. Sanchez got 126 pts last season, Sels 150. However, Sanchez started only 32 games, but had one PS though. However, he has had pen saves during both previous seasons ago. Is Sanchez actually better option than Sels? I haven't been able to afford 5.0 gk even without threemium, is it actually time to forget Kelleher(?)

        but interested in your reasoning. Sels had a breakout season last year so V could. I just don't see anything in terms of a change in management/personnel to suggest that may be the case

        Bournemouth's back-line has been decimated and I think Brentford will really struggle without Frank, so I don't like those options. I don't really like Verbruggen either, but just going off the fact he's at least settled and playing for the best team of the bunch.

    Rogers is meh, Gordon/kudus rotation, amad plays for man U and awful fixtures, Rice and rodrinsolid but not really wow factor.

  I think you're on the right track already. Like Rogers, Kluivert (can always bench GW1 but in any case Bournemouth tend to go for it against Pool who may not have a settled defence yet), and MGW (maybe a tad overpriced at 7.5 this year but solid pick for opening fixtures)

  Minteh (£6.0m) 6 goals and 5 assists in just 1831 minutes. If he played full season it would roughly translate to value of around 31.7 but this is obviously speculative.
  Started 13 of Brighton's last 15 matches and has bagged in preseason.

Am I the only one who's not getting the Kudus hype? He plays for a Spurs team that lost 22 games last season, won't be nailed on to start with Johnson there, and hardly put up groundbreaking numbers with West Ham last season.

do you think the +2 bps for tackles (without net) will have a big impact? like most CBs with a clean sheet now will be getting 30+ bps etc so mids/strikers will get less bonus overall

      No offers yet, but the interest is concrete. Villa have Malen, and they've been linked with Calvert-Lewin as a backup option.
      
      Personally, I'd be looking to get Wissa, Mateta or Jackson in if I was them.

This draft covers all the top teams but it feels risky.

That 6.5m mid slot is really hard to decide on. Will probably go off feel later.

Foden and Gyokeres are big risks but very high ceiling. Let's see a bit closer to the date how I feel about them.
