FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 2: SCOUT PICKS

Goalkeeper
With an ownership percentage of just over 3%, Leicester City’s goalkeeper Mads Hermansen (G) is being touted as a top pick among experts.
He is widely expected to be the Foxes’ number-one choice this season, and his stock is on the rise amongst managers. While he only managed one clean sheet in 27 Premier League appearances last year, he kept 13 in 44 Championship matches the season before.
Leicester City face Sheffield Wednesday at King Power Stadium on Sunday, a team that continues to be plagued by off-field issues.
With just 16 first-team players listed on the club website, we cannot see the Owls causing an upset at the back. A shutout feels locked for the number 30.
Defenders

Mickey Demetriou (D) of Crewe Alexandra may not have hauled in Gameweek 1, but did make eight clearances to score four points.
This week, the Railwaymen face Accrington Stanley (H), who scored just 24 away goals last season, losing 13 of 23 matches.
Demetriou averaged 8.1 points, the highest scorer last season of every active player, and hauled on multiple occasions. A return look almost certain for the number five.
Paired with him is Sheffield United’s Harrison Burrows (D), a defender who was previously listed as a midfielder. Last season, he had a stellar campaign with 12 goal contributions in 46 appearances.
With his new position as a defender, his upside is huge.
He’s on some set-pieces, including penalties, giving the left wing-back multiple ways to earn points. In Gameweek 2, the Blades face Bristol City at Bramall Lane – a team they beat 6-0 on aggregate in the play-offs.
Notably, Burrows was a key player in those games, contributing four goals and scoring 24 points.
Midfielders

After his 11-point haul in Gameweek 1, Davis Keillor-Dunn (M) is a standout, backed by all experts.
Continuing to flourish up front for Barnsley, ‘DKD’ opened his goalscoring account (+6) for the season, making one interception (+2) and one shot on target (+1) in their impressive 3-1 away win at Plymouth Argyle.
The Tykes face Burton Albion (H) in Gameweek 2, who, although they won in Gameweek 1 at home, lost 10 of their 23 games on the road last season.
After securing the double-up on Blades players, a total of four experts added Gustavo Hamer (M) to their squads. Currently, only 4% of all managers have selected him.
Hamer was a crucial part of his team’s play-off run last season, winning the Championship’s Player of the Year award.
He tallied 18 goal contributions in 44 matches and 251 points, including an assist for the opening goal in the play-off final. He also found the back of the net in the semi-final against the Robins.
Forwards
Up top, we have another two further double-ups: Jordan Ayew (F) and Josh March (F).
The Ghana international has scored three goals in pre-season for Leicester City, and looks set to start up top for the Foxes. He has over 80 goal contributions in England in all competitions, including five goals in 31 matches – 18 of which were starts – last season.
Although we cannot judge the Owls for their record last season, given the off-field turmoil over the summer. According to the club website, they only have six current defenders listed. It could be a goal fest in Leicestershire on Sunday, and Ayew could be a route to points.
However, if there is rotation, other options, including Patson Daka (F) and Abdul Fatawu (F), are also viable routes to points.
Completing our starting seven, Crewe’s number 24 continued his good pre-season form, returning eight points in their 3-1 away win at Salford. The talisman provided an assist, two key passes (+1) and two shots on target (+2).
Backed by just 1.1% he’s a top differential, despite Accrington conceding 38 of their 69 goals on the road.
Gameweek 2 Scout Picks: Club picks

Mirroring our player picks, all five experts backed Leicester City as their standout option.
Under manager Martí Cifuentes, the Foxes have kept many of their top players at present and couldn’t ask for a better opponent than the Owls.
Unfortunately for Wednesday, the situation looks increasingly bleak. We’re predicting a shutout and a goal fest for Leicester.
While there have been some concerns about the Owls’ players protesting and refusing to play, the match is currently scheduled to go ahead. We’ll provide any updates as they become available.
Completing our IX, despite not having a player in our team, four managers expect Frank Lampard’s Coventry City to secure three points over Hull City.
After the former Chelsea star took over, the Sky Blues went from relegation candidates to play-off contenders. Despite a mixed pre-season, the team ended the last campaign on a high note, winning six of their last eight home matches.
Overall, they finished with 14 wins in 23 games, scoring 40 goals—the second-highest in the division.
If both sides haul, 26 points are up for grabs.
