Three Premier League matches take place on Sunday with a double-header up first at 14:00 BST.

Chelsea host Crystal Palace in west London, while Nottingham Forest meet Brentford at the City Ground.

Eberechi Eze starts for Palace despite transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Oliver Glasner makes just one change from the line-up he used against Liverpool last week. It’s an enforced alteration, too, with Daichi Kamada missing out. Will Hughes comes in.

Tosin Adarabioyo is absent for Chelsea after picking up a “small issue” in training, so Josh Acheampong partners Trevoh Chalobah at the back.

Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro make up the front four.

At the City Ground, Morgan Gibbs-White is available for Forest after missing the final pre-season friendly to attend the birth of his child. He starts in a No 10 role.

Dan Ndoye is the only new signing in their starting XI, but Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha are on the bench.

Caoimhin Kelleher missed Brentford’s final pre-season friendly but he starts in goal.

Mikkel Damsgaard and the wantaway Yoane Wissa are both absent, but Kevin Schade is fit enough for a place on the bench.

Rico Henry gets the nod over Aaron Hickey at left-back as expected.

LINE-UPS

Chelsea XI: Sanchez, James, Acheampong, Chalobah, Cucurella, Caicedo, Enzo, Neto, Palmer, Gittens, J Pedro

Subs: Jorgensen, Gusto, Fofana, Hato, Essugo, Santos, Estevao, George, Delap

Crystal Palace XI: Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Guehi, Munoz, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell, Sarr, Eze, Mateta

Subs: Benitez, Lerma, Clyne, Esse, Edouard, Sosa, Rak-Sakyi, Devenny, Cardines

Nottingham Forest XI: Sels, Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams, Sangare, Anderson, Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Wood

Subs: Gunn, Morato, Awoniyi, Jesus, Jota, Yates, Jair, Boly, Abbott

Brentford XI: Kelleher, Kayode, Collins, van den Berg, Henry, Yarmoliuk, Jensen, Carvalho, Milambo, Lewis-Potter, Thiago

Subs: Valdimarrson, Hickey, Henderson, Schade, Onyeka, Ajer, Peart-Harris, Roerslev, Arthur

Brentford will be better next week.

Damsgaard, Ouattara, Schade and Henderson will all start.

Palace are very well set up and difficult to beat. Most teams will struggle against them. Just depends how they look post Guehi/Eze.

Think Guehi will stay to see out his last year with World Cup coming up, unless Liverpool bid big

I'm getting the urge to just have a rotation of five 4.5s to get a Salah Haaland draft.

fair. although the beauty of dc is fixtures matter less, you could just save money and play week in week out. cbs with goal threat, helps makes sure you never miss one of their random goals as well

Eze play the #10 at Spurs?

    1. F4L
      • 11 Years

for sure. although if frank uses 3 CBs in tough fixtures like vs psg, im not sure how it'll work. Kudus up top and Eze in a midfield 3 doesnt seem like playing to their strengths

If Joao Pedro is not nailed, and players like Wood/Semenyo/Kudus in a similar price bracket nailed and have good fixtures, I think there will be need to reconsider decisions in not a long time. I see Delap and I feel like Maresca would have gone to the dressing room thinking he should have started him in this game over Pedro. There will be games when Delap will start, and depending on form, might get more min that Pedro. Its early but its a huge possibility having watched them today.

Dammnnm Anderson ends on 11 DEFCONs. Hoping Opta recalculates and finds the extra DEFCON to get the 2 points

Cucurella insanely forward positioning and not slowing down even at 90 + 6 minutes. Looked like a great pick. I had him in for GW1 BB team but Im keeping on WC.

But what did your bench yield? I’m all done on 71 but (genuine) bench accounted for 20 points so that’s a win for me in a single GW.
