He didn’t stand on his foot, their boots touched, it didn’t even effect the movement of the attackers foot, nowhere near enough to go down or for a pen, shocking that people think it is really.

    3. Brosstan

Because the ref is too chicken to card the golden boy for diving in a 4-0 game.

    Palmer + Watkins ➡ Wood + Kudus for -4 gives me -

    Raya
    Cucurella - Cash - Dorgu
    Mbuemo - Semenyo - Kudus - Reijnders
    Haaland - Gyokeres - Wood

    Dubravka - King - Reinildo - Gudmundsson

    GW 4 - FH
GW 5 - Mbuemo + Cucurella ➡ Salah + VdV for -4 (Need Salah for captaincy this gw)

Will get Pedro around GW 7 after Wood’s good fixtures are over.

Gives me a great core of Haaland, Salah, Gyokeres, Pedro, Kudus, Semenyo who are all talismans more or less. Plus attackers from City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal who are gonna score the most challenging for the title.

    Thoughts?

        I always planned that way

But plans can always change. We don't know how good palace will look without eze now.

Ur plan was to WC in week 2 but surely would have been better sticking with the week 1 team with one or two changes

Would have been on 25 points with duds in my team.

You were skeptical about the Gyokeres pick as well.

            Look how that turned out.

Always stay ahead of the curve and be proactive rather than reactionary is my mantra and that has brought me success.

Also, this season with 5 extra AFCON transfers and double chips, the waiting game and going slow with moves doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Don’t get me wrong. I have played slow as well in many previous seasons. But with the rule changes, this season warrants an aggressive approach.

Always planned the FH in pre season team selection. Set up with BB 1 WC 2 and FH 4.

Just that the Palmer injury is making me take an extra hit.

        Gives me a fast start.

That’s my WC above with Palmer and Watkins instead of Kudus and Wood

On 42 points with Mbeumo and Dorgu to go. So pleased to get on the Gyokeres train early. People won’t go there now due to fixtures.

Very happy with the team going forward. Just hope Salah doesn’t do too much damage.

Ye alright. When I looked at the fixtures I felt like GW1 and GW3 (home matches and opponents) looked good.
After my FH (54) with Dorgu and Bruno to go I'll go back to this before I decide when to wildcard. I also think this looks strong for GW3:

              Sels
              Porro - Tosin - Dorgu(Frimpong GW1)
              Palmer - Bruno - Wirtz - Kudus
              Watkins - Ekitike - Pedro

              (Bizot, Rutter, Struijk, De Cuyper)

Really only need to deal with Palmer if ruled out.
Will likely WC4 and might go TC Bruno next GW

I’d be worried about Wirtz, Ekitike.
                Watkins and Palmer

Don’t see any big scores for them.

I am worried about Watkins and Palmer. Think Ekitike/Wirtz are as likely to return as Gyokeres (especially if Saka/Ødegaard got minor or more severe injuries)

Will most likely just do Palmer -> Cunha/Mbeumo (-4) and field Watkins/Wirtz/Ekitike before hitting WC.

Also with 121 points and Dorgu and Bruno to go I am doing okay

    Bottomed…

    Bowen and Watkins frustrating me…

Use 2 FTs for Gyokeres & Wood?

Gyokeres is a poor pick for next 4 imo

Arteta very defensive against good teams plus gyok hasn't looked good at all

This is a fair assumption. If Saka and Ode are out, the only saving grace is penalties. Perhaps they’d have to find Gyokeres more often in open play too as he’d be the main threat.

Fair points from both. I’ve gone ahead with Bowen to Wood (to catch the price rise) but keeping Watkins for now due to his favourable fixtures…

          Eze coming in

          I’m not worried

Those two goals give Gyokeres all the confidence in the world

The only thing stopping me moving Watkins out (probably for Pedro, then add strength elsewhere) is some pretty decent looking upcoming fixtures for Villa. The smart play may be to hold for a while.

I'm just going to remain patient tbh. See if Palmer/Saka are long term and transfer them if so. Suck it up, plod along

Think it's fairly sensible to be patient this GW, feels like every team pretty much could do decent business still in the transfer market

I transferred out Palmer & Gyökeres > Anderson & Haaland last night to avoid price increase.
This is as a Saka owner...

Early thoughts - who to bench next GW?

    1. Gyokeres v LIV (A)
    2. Eze v LIV (A)
    3. Gakpo v ARS (A)
    4. Ekitike v ARS (A)

    Please help pick one please

If this Palmer injury is a niggle in his groin, reckon they could rest him up until after International break?

Yes. And that would make me do a -4 😉
But Unless ruled out I'm probably just fielding him with Rutter first sub. WC4 is planned anyway.

It's possible, I'm leaning towards him being fit for next weekend.

“Cole in the last four or five days was not 100%. Today he tried in the warm-up, but he felt something, so we preferred not to take any risks and make it worse, and we will see in the next hours if it’s something important or not.

“It’s a groin problem. It’s already the Palace game he was not 100% for, but he has tried to make a big effort for the club, for the team, for the fans, because he is really keen about the team. Tonight, he tried again but it was not very good.” – Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer

On WC, any changes? One of Bruno/Mbeumo will change after the Burnley game.

    Sels
    Cucu - Saliba - Lacroix
    Semenyo - Salah - Bruno - Reijnders - Mbeumo
    Joao Pedro - Wood

    Dubravka - Dorgu - Muniz - VDV

nothing wrong with the XI, but you're leaving 2mil on the bench that'll rarely get used. i would just downgrade it abit

well i guess i like cheap as chips on the bench, so do reinildo/rondon and a non starting striker. even if you dont see any obvious upgrades right now, that 2mil will sure come in handy at some point in the near future to upgrade the XI. you could keep one 4.5 defender if you want, probably vdv, just for better cover. muniz isn't a starter right now.

      Villa and him looked atrocious

Always planned FH in GW3, any advice on the below, bench is throw away and have 4.4 in the bank:

      Sanchez
      Cucurella/Milenkovic/De Ligt
      Gibbs-White/Cunha/Gordan/Reijnders
      Haaland/Wood/JP

Can’t see Palmer starting this weekend.

With the international break coming up and other attackers stepping up, I don’t see a world in which Chelsea won’t protect him from the International games. It’s just prudent.

Palmer would’ve then had almost a month’s break between GW 1 and GW 4 raring to go for the rest of the season.

Saka has also got a hammy issue. No chance he plays a high intensity game at Anfield. Eze waiting in the wings as well.

Thinking about selling Gyokeres, even if he was my captain this GW. Those fixtures are horrendous and I don't think he'll get many points in the next 4 GWs.

hmm would keep. today was his day to get that ppg up. now would be happy with maybe even just 1 goal in the next 4. then its go time. he'll be leaner and raring to go. if selling and re-buying ends up costing 2 FTs, you could even see that as 8 points lost

I do have Palmer and Watkins too, but I think I will play the fixtures with Watkins and let hin stay. Palmer is a bigger problem, but with 2FTs I could deal with Palmer and Gyokeres.

Evanilson is decent at the right time. Haven't watched him for a while, but last season I think he was being too selfless most of the time, distracting defenders and letting his team mates score. He is a great player, especially as a team player, but sadly that doesn't always translate to FPL.

Knowing when he will be a good pick is going to be hard to call. But probably in the second half of the season when he wants to up his goal tally, or when other goal scorers get injured.
