Our Roshn Saudi League (RSL) Fantasy 2025/26 team previews continue with a look at three others: Al Khaleej, Al Fayha and Al Okhdood.
Whilst we don’t like to label any team as ‘makeweights’ before a ball’s even been kicked, it would be fair to say that staying in the division with a lower mid-table finish would be target number one for these sides.

Al Khaleej
Last season’s 12th-placed side scored 40 goals and conceded 57. Poor at home, they had a much better away record. With some key players retained, Al Khaleej can expect to finish lower mid-table once again.
In fact, their fax machine has been kept very busy throughout the summer, such is the number of new signings. Arrivals include Anthony Moris (5.0m), Ahmed Asiri (4.5m), Bart Schenkeveld (4.5m), Paulo Fernandes (5.5m), Georgios Masouras (6.0m), Saleh Al Omari and Joshua King (6.0m).
However, two of their better attackers have departed – Abdullah Al Salem (5.5m) and Saleh Abu Al Shamat (5.0m).
They played four friendly matches against credible teams and scored in each, notching one win and a draw. Then again, the early fixtures look tough, going against Al Shabab and Al Qadsiah in Rounds 1 and 3, though they sandwich a favourable meeting with Al Fayha.
Out-of-position Mansour Hamzi (4.5m) is a defender in the game but plays in midfield, which has potential. In a more orthodox midfield slot is Konstantinos Fortounis (7.0m), the side’s key set-piece and penalty taker who scored nine goals and assisted five.
Last but certainly not least is former Premier League striker King, known from times at Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Bournemouth, Everton and Watford before stints in Turkey and France. 2024/25 brought six goals and three assists for Toulouse.
Al Fayha
A comparatively safe 13th-place finish took place in 2024/25, despite being the lowest-scoring team (27 goals).
They will hope to have improved their offensive fortunes with new signings Yassine Benzia (6.0m), Alfa Semedo (5.0m) and Remeseiro (6.0m), but this is counterweighted by the loss of forward Renzo Lopez and full-back Faris Abdi (5.0m).
Their opening RSL games could bring a solid start, facing Al Fateh, Al Khaleej, Al Shabab, and Al Najma, which is one main reason for considering their assets.
Goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera (5.0m) was ranked fifth-best for saves last season and stopped two penalties, whilst centre-back Chris Smalling (5.0m) was strong for defensive interventions and dangerous at set-pieces.
In midfield, accurate passer Otabek Shukurov (5.5m) is a solid budget option, whilst Semedo offers great numbers for defensive actions (averaging 10 ball recoveries per game) as well as offensive contributions. He secured five goals and three assists for Neom in the Yelo league.
Junior Fashion Sakala (8.0m) has a steeper price tag, but is the team’s main penalty taker and scored eight times last season.
Al Okhdood
Meanwhile, this team narrowly avoided relegation during an epic final few minutes of 2024/25, beating Al Khaleej with goals in the 95th minute and a penalty soon after, while Al Wehda lost in the closing seconds.
Al Okhdood have reinforced with some European faces, with the aptly named Samuel Portugal (4.5m), Koray Gunter (4.5m), Gokhan Gul (5.5m) and Blaz Kramer (5.5m) arriving.
But if they’re going to pull off another great escape, opening matches against Al Ittihad, Al Taawoun, and Neom don’t look good. Despite this, they do have a few Fantasy options worth considering.
New signing from Portugal, um… goalkeeper Portugal is expected to rack up plenty of save points. Juan Sebastian Pedroza (6.5m) promises strong defensive actions and accurate passing, whilst midfielder Christian Bassogog (6.0m) and striker Kramer are interesting budget differentials in attack
The former netted six goals and an assist last year, whilst the Slovenian could be a surprise package.
