There’s not a Liverpool or Arsenal player in sight in the Scout Picks for Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 3 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Robert Sanchez (£5.0m) gets the nod between the sticks ahead of Chelsea’s home match against Fulham on Saturday. The Spaniard has conceded just once in his two matches so far (an effort from 25+ yards, to boot), and given that Marco Silva’s side haven’t really impressed from an attacking perspective this season, a home clean sheet could well be on the cards.

I’m completely torn between the options to replace Palmer this gw.

    Bruno:
We could see a United bounce and we should beat Burnley. But unlike last season when Bruno was central to all our good work, there’s a fear that FPL points will be spread. Sesko may even start! Our attack isn’t fluid either atm and a resolute Bunlebmay keep us to 2 goals.

    Elanga:
We haven’t seen the best of him yet (2 difficult opening fixtures) but he has the pace and goal threat to hurt an attacking Gubmunsson tomorrow. Plus it would be nice to have an interest in the teatime kickoff. Gordon is out and The Toon need a talisman. Good home game in gw4 with Wolves going to St James’s.

    Neto:
The continuity Chelsea replcement. Was terrific against West Ham. But Fulham are no pushovers.

    What’s your thoughts everyone?
    Any feedback would be great.

Definitely not Neto. I’d go with Bruno as there is more certainty.

There doesn’t seem to be much love for Neto on these pages. I just have this notion Elanga is going to really step up I the coming weeks with no Isak or Gordon.

Neto has had mediocre stats across multiple seasons.. Elanga could go either way. Their attack is too up in there to invest in my view.

      This GW - Neto
      Short term - Elanga
      Long term - Bruno

Personally not sure that I'd buy a United attacker. Points will come but iffy fixtures after Burnley, and there's no guarantee that even goes well (see: Grimsby). Having said that I do have him and will most likely captain. May well offload in GW4 though.

Neto - from a Chelsea fan's perspective. It's a punty pick. He's a good player but not the focal point of our attack. Chelsea vs. Fulham games are usually tight. Lots of competition for wing space so could randomly not start whenever. Personally wouldn't go there.

Elanga - also punty but fat more nailed. I feel he's missing a proper forward up top to help covert chances. A return not impossible - but the fixtures are a mixed bag afterwards.

Bruno is good if it’s only a 1 GW punt. But elanga better medium term.

I’m personally torn between elanga/harvey barnes or Sarr for the next 3 GWs …. With GW6 WC in mind

On wildcard currently, any changes here? 1.6m in the bank..

Cucu - Gabriel - Van den Berg
    Semenyo - Gakpo - Cunha - Kudus
    Haaland - Wood (c) - Pedro

    Dubravka - Reijnders - VDV - Gudmondsson

You wont need one long term. Its a groin niggle. He will have had about a month off by the time gw4 comes

  9. Takamba
    • 11 Years
    10 months, 23 days ago

Is it too early for Eze, if on a W/C?

It looks highly likely he starts tomorrow, and against a less than convincing Liverpool defence it’s very possible he has an instant impact.

Of course you’d then have him for GW4 too, where attacking Arsenal coverage at home to Forest looks desirable.

    1. Sir Michael Taker
      • 12 Years

Hes not predicted to start on here fwiw. Might hinge on if Odegaard makes it or not

These Arsenal fans desperately defending the Eze signing over Simons’. Eze is proven in the PL apparently. Guy had two league goals until GW30 last season. Go check if you don’t believe me.

Eze is possibly the most over-rated player going.

    1. x.jim.x
      • 11 Years
      10 months, 23 days ago

It is quite funny that Spurs have seemed to bait them into signing him, only to go and get a better, younger player for a lot less.

    2. MJF
      10 months, 23 days ago

Totally disagree. He’s a special talent.

      1. MJF

And I am in no way, shape or form an Arsenal fan before anyone suggests it.

    3. NoOneCares
      10 months, 23 days ago

You were begging him to come to Spurs and were upset when it didn't look like it was going anywhere. Don't start acting like that isn't the case as it is cringe induction.

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 12 Years
        10 months, 23 days ago

They've both got something to prove. Simons in the league. Eze in a top 4 team and in Champions League. Both could flop yet

      2. have you seen cyan
        • 6 Years
        10 months, 22 days ago

Lol begging, get real. Not me. He would have been a good signing for Spurs, and the reason we lost out on him was annoying. But he was never the best option.

I never have Eze in my FPL team because I just don’t rate him. Same thing every season with him, does nothing for over half of the season then comes alive at the end.

        1. NoOneCares
          10 months, 22 days ago

You do realise people can look over your comments to confirm what I am saying don't you? Stop talking utter gibberish.

            10 months, 22 days ago

Yes. You are literally talking gibberish. Show me one comment where I begged for Eze, you'll find find in my comments that I said he is over-rated and IDC if we sign him. Only thing i said negative about it was Levy out.

You should learn to read, and go buy some tissues.

Really fancy double Arsenal defence this week. Going against the grain:

    Sanchez
    Saliba - Gabriel - Cucurella - Porro - Milenkovic
    Kudus - Anderson
    JP - Wood (C) - Ekitike

    Dubravka - Gakpo - Semenyo - Reijnders

Love the 5 at the back. Not sure about double Arsenal defence and Ekitike up front in the same team though

Debating between Ndoye and Dango for a £6m mid slot (already have Reijnders)
Next 6, I'm thinking Ndoye edges this:

    GW3: Ndoye: WHU (H), Dango: SUN(A)
    GW4: Ndoye: ARS (A), Dango: CHE (H) - bench both, play Isak/Ekitike
    GW5: Ndoye: BUR (A), Dango: FUL (A)
    GW6: Ndoye: SUN (H), Dango: MUN (H) - can bench Dango, Gakpo - CRY(A)
GW7: Ndoye: NEW (A), Dango: MCI (H) - bench both, play Reijnders BRE (A)
GW8: Ndoye: CHE (H), Dango: WHU(A) - bench both, play Reijnders EVE (H)

    thoughts?

Purely playing the fixtures it has to be Ndoye but Dango is the more attacking player and I think hes better for minutes probably. So I havent helped at all lol. Depends how much stock you put in the fixtures.

    Which option for Saka:

    A) Sell now for a -4, and who for.
    B) Keep & assess in GW4 who you want to replace him with

Diakité is my first sub, and I already have 3 Spirs players & Fernandes.

if none of the potential replacements stand out to you, b and hope diakite can get 3 points or so. when you sell post international break you might end up wanting to upgrade another spot as well, so funds itb from selling saka might matter alongside the replacement

        Yeah that’s what I’m thinking.
I do have Bijol on the bench too, but he’s not 100% certain to start vs Newcastle.
