The opening three Gameweeks of the 2025/26 campaign have sent many Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers into the international break unexpectedly contemplating how many Everton attackers is too many Everton attackers.

From Jack Grealish (£6.7m) to Iliman Ndiaye (£6.5m) to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£5.0m), the Toffees – much-discussed in pre-season for their defensive potential – have looked uncharacteristically electric going forward, with the arrivals of Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall re-energising a team that looked stale in front of goal for much of last season.

With plenty of FPL bosses now activating Wildcards and Free Hits or considering doing so, we’ve taken a dive into the Members Area in the hopes of providing some useful data to inform your decisions with regards to choosing between Everton’s three most in-form attacking assets.

THE SEASON SO FAR

It’s two wins from three for David Moyes’ side so far from outings against Leeds United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Here are the passing maps and some key FPL stats from each of those matches.

GAMEWEEK 1

Everton looked set to hold off Leeds in Gameweek 1 before succumbing to a late and – depending on your allegiances – slightly dubious penalty, awarded for a handball on defensive contribution (DefCon) monster James Tarkowski (£5.5m).

The Toffees offered little in attack during that match, with Dewsbury-Hall and Ndiaye both playing 90 minutes but contributing zero shots between them and just one created chance each.

Grealish came off the bench for his debut and managed one shot, from inside the box.

GAMEWEEK 2

The second weekend of the season ended much more positively for the Toffees, who started Grealish on the left wing, Ndiaye on the right and Dewsbury-Hall as the ‘10’ in their 2-0 home win over Brighton. Ending the match with two assists – one for Ndiaye – plus the most advanced average position of Everton’s starting XI, Grealish created three total chances, contributed 11 DefCons and earned two bonus points, repeatedly linking up well with fellow summer newcomer Dewsbury-Hall down the left flank.

Grealish had one shot and Dewsbury-Hall didn’t manage any – but did rack up four created chances, including one Opta-defined ‘big chance’ – while Ndiaye, who lasted just over an hour, converted his one big chance when tapping in Grealish’s low cross.

GAMEWEEK 3

As seen in the Statsbomb passing network below, Grealish operated a little deeper in Gameweek 3’s 3-2 victory at Wolves but again registered two assists, the first a header leading to Beto’s (£5.4m) opener and the other for Dewsbury Hall, who drifted more towards the right flank this time and himself had earlier assisted Ndiaye’s close-range goal after receiving the ball from Grealish’s clever reverse pass.

As well as his assists, Grealish tallied eight penalty box touches and two shots from inside the area, one of which was tagged by Opta as a big chance. Ndiaye had another of those – assisted, as mentioned, by Dewsbury-Hall, who registered two big chances created in total and earned all three bonus points thanks to the Gameweek’s highest BPS score – with his only attempt of the game and scored it, as well as creating two more chances for his teammates.

I'm planning to BB GW8 when all the promoted teams have good fixtures but EVE play mci that GW. Does anybody know if Grealish is eligible to play against his parent club that GW?

Very slim. Didn't even get onto the pitch for Sweden last night.

Djokovic outdone by Alcaraz yesterday. As a Sinner fan, I honestly think Alcaraz will win the US Open on Sunday for whatever reason.

Sinner is the better player overall. Alcaraz would have to play the match of his life to beat him on hard courts in a best of 5 at this point

Djokovic didn't stand any with his physical limitations at 38 sadly

Head to head Alcarez leads Sinner 9.5. Im not sure Sinner is the better player! Yes, he beat him in the Wimbledon final but Alcarez beat Sinner in the French open final. There is very little between them tbh

Gyokores has had 2 shots all season, both in the LEE game, 1 was off target. So why do the models love him so much? Is it just the subjective opinion of the person that runs it?

It's just obvious guesswork, but it depends on the player in question being actually good when that is up for debate. Use your eyes on new signings, not a spreadsheet.

  8. MJF

Wonder if a 4-x-x formation with quadruple cheap DEFCON merchants is the way forward. Whenever I tried 4 at the back in the days of Alonso, Cancelo etc it always ended up not working, but these options so cheap you’d still have the flexibility in attack.

I think the defcon situation coupled with the promoted teams probably not being that bad (compared to the past two seasons) makes some of those 4.0s look very interesting and I dont think its that crazy to say Dubravka is the best sub 5m keeper either if we're talking about value. Hes not going to be much worse than the 4.5s I dont think.

      1. MJF
        11 months, 3 days ago

Yeah agree. If I need 0.5 on WC I wouldn’t rule going for two 4.0s out, although I do think Burnley will be worse than Leeds & Mackems.

Remember the glory days of Pickford and Grant both being starting 4.0s and Sunderland and Stoke?

          • 12 Years

Yeah I agree they are worse but at least the keeper is the same price as the defenders. Roefs and Perri will do well too I think but its hard to go there when there are 4.0 defenders

Unfortunately have Watkins, but not selling.

I think you can just about field an 11 probably. I can see 10 pretty much certain and a couple who might play. I think its a bad week to wc if you can put it off as theres a few teams we just dont know about and we might not until gw5 or 6 to be fair

I would yes. Cunha/Sarr injured, Watkins/Wirtz poor form, Dorgu not starting, Forest defensive double up not necessary (One is enough). Better options than Reijnders (GW1 hype but it was Wolves). And Guiu is a waste of a striker spot.

    d. Senesi (BHA)

C or D probably. This is where the defcon situation gets tricky because A or B on paper far more likely to clean but potentially at the expense of defcon. I just think you cant bench a defender at home to a promoted team

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Yep, having trouble weighing up the defcons too 😆

Tosin probably has a really good chance of a clean sheet. Aston Villa had 77% possession against Brentford, so Chelsea should get similar. But 0 defcon potential...

        1. space mercenary
          • 6 Years

Check the numbers - Tosin is averaging 10 defcons per start.

    3. The Son-dance Kid
      • 8 Years
      11 months, 3 days ago

Ignoring potential bonus and attackig returns, my predictions are..
A will get 2 or 6 (prob no defcon against sunderland)
B will get 2 or 6 (as above)
      C will get 2 or 6
      D will get 4 or 8

      I'd probably bench Tosin.

Utterly perplexing how there is no mention of Dibling, however. Given the fee and how much effort Everton went into to sign him, he's a real threat to one of the three's starting spot.

Everton under Moshiri had a knack of signing £20-30m players and then doing nothing with them. Dibling might be an after effect of this possibly. I'm not even sure he's higher than McNeil in the pecking order

Pino's got an ankle issue unfortunately. It doesn't sound major, so monitor news, he might be available. I do like him. https://x.com/SpainIsFootball/status/1844389112314581020

But probably Grealish atm. Xavi could be a fun punt if you think he'll start though.

What would you do with 1 ft?

    A) Bruno to Salah

    B) Guiu to Pedro/Gyokeres/Etikite/Isak or other forward

    C) Watkins to other fwd

    Have Haaland
    5.8 mill in cash

B - JP would be the safe bet but Etikite might be a decent one week punt v Burnley whilst Isak not fit

He might be more than a one week punt, Isak didn’t get a single min last night, he might not be fit to start until after the next International Break.

True but I’d expect Isak to be making appearances off the bench and eating into Ekitike’s minutes

B Pedro & then consider C to anyone in form

Those with Salah only and option to go for Ekitike/Isak or Gakpo, what are you doing? Sticking with Salah only for now as there's too much uncertainty?

I've got Gakpo as well, he seems to be doing well as opposed to Wirtz, and I think Ekitiké's attacking returns have been in quite opportune situations I'm not sure'll come every week. Sticking with Salah till I see the necessity of making the switch for Haaland (or Isak).

On the topic of who did and didn’t play for Sweden last night, worth noting Gudmundsson played the full 90. I’m mentioning it as he was yellow flagged after the Newcastle match, but happily he seems fine.

Maybe somebody can correct me if I’m wrong but I think he’s the joint leading bonus points scorer this season, level with Pedro on 6. Not bad for a 4.0!

Contemplating going four at the back. Bench Semenyo or Enzo? Or simply bench Porro and stick with three (Chalobah, Senesi, Lacroix)?

Hmm tough one that, Im playing a 433, Id bench Enzo or Senesi
