When preparing a squad for Matchday 1 of UEFA Champions League (UCL) Fantasy, finding a fixture ticker is hugely important to managers.

In fact, as there are fewer rounds of action than in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), using one to formulate a strategy for chips and captaincy is crucial.

That’s why the brilliant TopMarx has provided us with a colour-coded look at the ease and difficulty of league phase fixtures.

Both ourselves and Fantasy Football Community will be providing managers with plenty of content throughout the season.

Any arguments not to pay 0.5 more for Munoz over Lacroix?

If you are asking about the defs, I always preferred the fullbacks

I don't even know if it's worth paying for either when you could go Richards for 4.5m. Depends on how you use the rest of your funds I guess..

Have funds for now, ain't attacking potential worth more?

Depends if he gets them. We only have a few weeks before WC.

So in those say 3 weeks we own this player, Munoz would have to score a goal to beat Lacroix if Lacroix got DCs every match. So you'd effectively be paying 0.5m more for 2 points pre bonus IF Munoz scores. If he doesn't, you could just be paying more for nothing.

I'd rather take the DC centre backs in the current state of the game for less money I think.

      The DC points.

I got Munoz though because he’s basically playing as a winger.

I think both are options. Munoz playing so advanced. Even if Lacroix matches him it's way more fun to have a defender who is playing as a winger 🙂

Free hit question. after haaland goals I'm scared to go without

    Better combo

    A) haaland/wirtz
    B) woltermade/salah

Both Wirtz and Woltemade seems like bad/very risky picks, I am sure there are other combos you can go for.

I'm def getting Wirtz on a FH. If he's to show his true colours at football - this is game to do it. Or he's dead to me forever.

Among the engaged managers it's closer to 10% imo. Everyone sold him last week. If he hauls against Brentford that's major points.

Palmer is going to be a factor this year I'm just not sure I want to bring him straight back after a groin injury. I'll take my licks if he goes off vs Brentford (which is possible) otherwise, I'll holed off until gw6 or after.

Contemplating the following WC team/first RMT as well:

    Sanchez - Dub
Calafiori or Munoz - Guehi - Rodon - Gudmundsson - Esteve
    Salah - Semenyo - Grealish - Reijnders - King
    Haaland - J. Pedro - Gyokores

I really don't like WC'ing now. Like really don't. We just don't know enough yet.

Just buy at least 2 Liverpool attackers, ride out GW4 + 5. FH in 6 and WC in 7.

    Cucurella Tarkowski Milenkovic Esteve Reinaldo
    Salah Cunha* Johnson Reindeer King
    Ekitike Pedro Wood

    1ft
    2.6 itb

Any ideas here? Foolishly already used wildcard so any transfer would need to be a long tern move

    A) Cunha to Semenyo
    B) Milenkovic to Palace defender and play King
    C) Save and play King
    D) Anything else

    WC activated. Thoughts?

    - Have kept £3m ITB to upgrade Mateta to Isak in GW6 if he's fit and firing by then. Also going early on Gyokeres to save a transfer later and Forest now looks tasty
    - Have gone for King as bench fodder and a stronger defence for DC.
    - Xavi is a bit punty but I feel like I want Spurs attack with those fixtures and I don't trust BJ's minutes or Kudus lack of shots

    Raya - Dubravka
    Lacroix - Senesi - Burn - VdV - Tosin
    Gakpo - Semenyo - Ndiaye - Xavi - King
    Haaland - Mateta - Gyokores

I really don't like it. Your WC should contain players you know are good for the long term.

In this team, I only see Lacroix, Haaland, Semenyo and the GKs that I'd consider long term holds. The rest are speculative, contain risky and the team structure is weird to boot which means it's very hard to bring in a player like Saka.

    2. Pumpkinhead
      • 11 Years

I like the punt on Xavi just to be different on the wildcard. My concern with this team is if you're going to go cheap at the back I would want Salah in for now. Burnley and Everton in the next two. I see the thought/strategy, personally I'd want either more money in the backend or Salah in this team.

Cheers for the input. My front 3 will ultimately be Haaland, Gyokeres and Isak which is where I'm spending the saved Salah funds. Two penalty takers and a proven PL striker playing for the three best teams in the league.

I know historically he's a beast but I'm just not sold on Salah with Pool transitioning their attack.

        1. Pumpkinhead
          • 11 Years

That is interesting because that is how I feel about Isaak right now. I've owned him many times and he has been great but now at 10.4 without penalties, I don't see the value like I did last year/the year before.

To play devils advocate; I also thinking holding 3.0 in the bank on a wildcard (generally don't mind cash in the bank) but if he doesn't find fitness in the next few weeks that money could serve you better in your starting 11.

Like I said, it's an interesting team and I don't want to talk you out of anything but just giving a different perspective to think about.

Understand the concerns about Isak with no pens. Liverpool have just broken the British transfer record and so I expect Slot to use Isak as the focal point in attack and despite not having pens he could be a shrewd buy at £4.1m less than Salah who may not be quite as talismanic as previous seasons with so much attacking talent around him.

Another option I have is to book in the Gakpo downgrade (to enable Mateta Isak in WG6) which would allow me to upgrade Tosin to Virgil (Or Gabriel and get Pope instead of Raya) and strengthen my defence.

I think Mosquera is a better backup then what they had last season but anytime you lose one of your center backs it's gonna be tough to stay solid at the back.

I'm sure it is but lets not forget the way they travel is not the same as us normal folk. They are in first class, in a pod with a dedicated flight attendant, it's just different. I would be way more open to traveling if it was always in first class with the ability to lay down and relax.

Nice - I would maybe try and fit in one more LFC attacker i.e. Ekitike or Gakpo.

Cheers. Considering Ekitike over Gyok, but Burnley at home will not be pushovers and Isak is a concern. Gyok v Ange def could be great.

Good to hold this week? 2FT, £1.5m ITB

    Sels
    Munoz, Cucurella, VdV
Salah (c), Gakpo, Semenyo, Kudus, Reijnders
    Pedro, Ekitike

    Dubravka, Wood, Gudmon, Esteve

Long term will look to drop Gakpo/Ekitike depending on who loses out to Isak.

I would definitely hold this week. You *may run into a few issues with this team moving forward. Gakpo/Ekitike minutes when Isaak joins in (to be seen, one or both could be minutes risks) and Wood (need to see what Ange does with the squad). Good team for this week.

A after this week but for now Gakpo's minutes will be better than Isak's.

      Isak won’t play imo

Wissa is back on Thursday morning only so will only have had Thursday and Friday to train with his new teammates. I saw that he was rumoured to be injured I believe but not sure on this
