After England’s stunning UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 triumph, the FA Women’s Super League (WSL) continues this Friday, along with the biggest Fantasy game in women’s football – Aerial Fantasy.
Here, last season’s world number 30 and five-time top 100K Fantasy Premier League (FPL) finisher Jono (@FWSL_Jono) provides an analysis of Gameweek 1 and reveals his Gameweek 2 team.

The WSL kicked off over the weekend with plenty of goals, drama and standout debuts. Here’s a look back at the Gameweek just gone and a look ahead to the upcoming round.
I had a great start to the season, scoring 71 points and am currently ranked 184th.
For anyone down about their Gameweek 1 score, in my first ever week playing the game, I scored 15 points and eventually finished 76th overall, so there’s loads of time left to pull off a great rank!
GAMEWEEK 1 REVIEW

Ornella Vignola (£4.6m) and Melvine Malard (£8.1m) were the stars of the opening weekend, scoring a hat-trick and a brace respectively for Everton and Manchester United. Elsewhere, Arsenal’s record signing Olivia Smith (£9.5m) announced her arrival with a stunning debut goal.
In my team, Maz Pacheco (£4.1m) picked up two assists and bonus in Everton’s 4-1 Merseyside derby win. She looks to be a strong early-season pick with good fixtures ahead.
Ella Toone (£9.0m) top-scored with 13 points thanks to a goal, assist and maximum bonus. The England star was the heartbeat of Man Utd’s 4–0 win over Leicester City. In the same game, Elisabeth Terland (£11.0m) delivered as my captain.
Worryingly, Lotte Wubben-Moy (£5.5m) didn’t start with Katie Reid (£4.5m) preferred at centre-back for the Gunners. A risky gamble that didn’t come off, she’s now a rotation worry. Matilda Vinberg (£5.0m) is also a concern; she was a surprise absentee, with Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Ho revealing “she’s likely to return soon”.
Michelle Agyemang (£6.0m) struggled to make an impact in Brighton and Hove Albion’s opener, while Rafaela Borggrafe’s (£4.0m) fitness status is an unknown at this stage.

GAMEWEEK 2 TEAM REVEAL

In WSL Fantasy, there is no rolling of transfers. It is very much use them or lose them! That said, it’s not the most thrilling week on the transfer front. It feels more about plugging gaps than chasing big hauls.
Fortunately, I’ve already got Liverpool coverage in place ahead of their plum fixture with Leicester in the form of Marie-Therese Hobinger (£8.0m) and Grace Fisk (£5.0m).
One option I’ve looked at is to downgrade Agyemang to Iman Beney (£4.5m) of Manchester City to save money. However, my favoured transfers are currently Wubben-Moy to Reid and Vinberg to Vinola, leaving £1.5m in my bank for the next week.
Watchlist
- Ellie Carpenter (£7.6m) – DEF
- Lauren Hemp (£9.0m) – MID
- Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw (£12.0m) – FWD
- Aggie Beever-Jones (£10.0m) – FWD
The big, exciting moves come after Gameweek 3, when Man Utd face Arsenal. That’s when the real upgrades will be made; until then, it’s about steady points, patience, and keeping options open.
The Gameweek 2 deadline is Friday, 18:30 BST – good luck!
