Following the Scout Squad submissions of Marc, Sam, Tom and Neale, we have finalised our Scout Picks for Gameweek 9 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

As ever, we are limited by certain restrictions.

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 9 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

3m team news:

Newcastle United’s clean sheet prospects look as good as any this week. Nick Pope (£5.2m) has already produced five clean sheets in 2025/26, the joint-most of any goalkeeper. He’s also banked save points in each of his last three home matches. Fulham, meanwhile, are in the bottom five for shots in the box and Opta-defined ‘big chances’. That lack of attacking threat, combined with the fact that Newcastle are one of the top two defences in the division, makes this a decent opportunity for Pope to secure his sixth shut-out of the season.

      I did this earlier just so I could enjoy watching Ekitike play. Worth the 4 points and even if he doesn’t haul you have to imagine he’ll pay you back in the weeks ahead.

            They were the definition of scrappy - but from a confidence perspective these things often spark something. That said Wolt in great form and I think A is better combo medium-long term so probably just go for it if you're planning it

              He's looked like a Championship player from the off. He's playing in a very good team so things you can't miss like Tuesday will come about. But he's struggling in the Premier League with the pace just as Nunez and other players from Portugal have done.

      Thats 4 transfers you'd want to make right there.

      But Salah might actually do something v Brentford. Pedro has a decent fixture and Palace play Arsenal. Id maybe stage it and do Salah to Saka this week and rest for free next.

        Thank you. Yeh I’m set on that transfer plan but torn on Salah to Saka now vs waiting - does he come back firing after the benching, or is that wishful thinking? The others I agree I think I wait on until next week (even if that involves inevitably taking another Pedro 2 pointer on the chin)

    People will double or even triple up on Arsenal defence for the easier fixtures and they will start conceding.

    Arteta will take the handbrake off and try to score some goals from open play not just corners and they will concede.

    Same as last season at home against mighty Leicester and Southampton.

        No doubt.
        Because Arteta is an ultra defensive manager when playing against strong opposition.
        My point is that against weaker teams he will try to play some football and they are likely to concede.

          I have 2 FTs and tired of Reijnders. (1) Transfer Reijnders out for Rice (feel free to suggest another similarly priced mid) or (2) roll FT and play Reijnders. It’s not imperative that I get rid of him this week but I do want him gone ASAP.

          My mids are Saka, Semenyo, Caicedo, Stach, and Reijnders.

            Rice is actually a decent pick, very accurate corner taker and concedering CK are Arsenal no.1 way of scoring, decent pick that will tick along.

            Because you have Saka, getting Rice would limit you to one Arsenal defender, and they are the best defense in the league. Do you like Rice as a pick, may be better value than Saka.

              I have taken into account only one Arsenal def (have Gabriel) if I get Rice. That definitely weighs on my decision. Though in past I have been generally averse to having multiple defence from same club.
