Brentford v Liverpool team news: Salah starts, no Isak

A later-than-late Premier League match is still to come: it’s Brentford v Liverpool, which kicks off at 20:00 BST.

TEAM NEWS

Liverpool boss Arne Slot makes three changes from Wednesday’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Slot is forced into two of them, as Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong are injured.

Andrew Robertson also drops to the bench.

Conor Bradley, Milos Kerkez and Mohamed Salah are brought into the side after their midweek absences.

Ryan Gravenberch hasn’t recovered in time, so he misses out again.

The Brentford team news is more straightforward: they’re unchanged from Monday’s win over West Ham United.

    Liverpool last season were amazing against Real Madrid.

    There are many factors at play here, but is anyone mentioning the signing of Isak for £100m+, when they had a striker (Ekitka) performing, kinda unsettling the team? Cohesion is a big deal and with all the baggage, gotta be a factor?

      Absolutely. It also sounds like the Sporting Director or others in the board are telling Slot to play Isak even though hes not match fit or in form yet.

      This really isnt the same transfer strategy that made Liverpool succesful. More like something Man United would do.

      set mbeumo up for a big chance and had 2 good chances himself today as well (1 of which was very good). the attacking returns are coming. and look at how high his bps was today, saw people surprised he got 3 bonus last week with 1 assist. thats just his bps baseline

      Some of the stoppage time involved Brentford goal celebration plus they add more time for the long throw delays. Has happened for the other Brentford game I watched

    "The new Liverpool" - got some lucky overtime wins/pens, but it wasn't/isn't sustainable. Kerkez scoring is just another layer, TAA was never the best defender but the attacking contributions were enough because the other parts worked. Slot, find a solution
