It’s time for our Fantasy Bundesliga Matchday 18 team reveals, as our experts showcase the best picks, top differentials, and smart plays for the week ahead.

@Big4FPL

NOTES

  • A second strong Gameweek of 2026 lifts me inside the top 600 overall and into the top 150 in the Second Chance league. Remarkably, Harry Kane was the only player in my squad to score under 200 points, underlining just how productive the week proved.
  • This round brings a heavyweight clash, with Bayern Munich hosting RB Leipzig in a repeat of the opening-day demolition. I do not expect a score line on that scale again, but I still plan to move on some Leipzig assets, with Romulo certain to make way.
  • Elsewhere, Wolfsburg face Heidenheim in a fixture that looks ripe for investment. As a result, players such as Dzenan Pejcinovic and Patrick Wimmer could come into consideration.
  • For now, Kane, Michael Olise and Alejandro Grimaldo retain their star status.

NOTES

  • Goalkeepers: Mio Backhaus and Diant Ramaj – Despite having spare transfers available, I have no plans to break up this goalkeeper pairing, particularly after Ramaj’s excellent midweek display. Both remain locked in for this Matchday.
  • Defenders: Alejandro Grimaldo*, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Nico Schlotterbeck, Miro Muheim and Leopold Querfeld – I make just one defensive change this round, even if it is not strictly essential. With RB Leipzig facing Bayern Munich, I opt to sell David Raum and bring in Muheim. He faces Borussia Mönchengladbach, who continue to struggle away from home, as highlighted by their heavy defeat to Hoffenheim last time out. I see no reason to move on my other defenders, though Rasmus Kristensen and Saël Kumbedi remain alternatives I like.
  • Midfielders: Michael Olise*, Malik Tillman, Nadiem Amiri, Christoph Baumgartner and Alexis Claude-Maurice – My midfield still raises a few questions. With limited standout options available, I am leaning towards keeping most of this unit intact after a run of steady returns. I am considering selling Aleix García to fund a move for Tillman in search of greater upside. While the midfield pool feels uninspiring overall, Ritsu Dōan also tempts as a punt over Patrick Wimmer.
  • Forwards: Harry Kane*, Luis Díaz and Haris Tabaković – Kane and Díaz remain non-negotiable picks. The third forward slot is less settled. A gamble on Benedict Hollerbach backfired after he missed out through illness, forcing another move. With Yan Diomandé back available, he is under consideration, but his fixture against Bayern Munich dampens the appeal. With many alternatives posing minutes risks, I am likely to take the safer route with Tabaković, who offers strong expected minutes and underlying data, even with Borussia Mönchengladbach’s poor away form.

NOTES

  • My plan for Matchday 18 focuses on prioritising players assured of minutes, despite the heavy schedule.
  • I am prepared to move on Edmond Tapsoba, Noahkai Banks, David Raum, Christoph Baumgartner and Alexis Claude-Maurice. RB Leipzig assets exit the squad due to their clash with Bayern Munich this week, while Tapsoba also faces a spell of two to three weeks out, having only been brought in earlier because of a postponed fixture.
  • The likely arrivals are Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Miro Muheim, Ritsu Dōan and Vieira. Hamburg stand out with an excellent fixture this week, alongside Stuttgart, making their assets particularly appealing.
  • Looking ahead to stars, I expect to back Mittelstädt, Michael Olise and Harry Kane for Matchday 18.

NOTES

  • Last week proved a mix of fortune and frustration. I planned my moves but forgot to confirm transfers after news broke that the Bayer Leverkusen match was suspended. That mistake worked in my favour, as I kept David Raum and benefited from his haul. I expect to finish the round on around 3,100 points, holding roughly 1,900 overall and 250 in the Second Chance league.
  • Rotation now looks likely, and midfielders have underwhelmed for several weeks. As a result, I plan to stick with 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 as my preferred setups.
  • Once again, I intend to target Heidenheim. I plan to bring in Maximilian Arnold, who continues to deliver consistent 180–200 point scores and remains on set pieces. Chris Führich also appeals at just 3.1m, having returned steadily in recent weeks. My other midfield move will come down to team news, with Wouter Burger or one of Farès Chaïbi and Ansgar Knauff under consideration.
  • In defence, Raum will make way for either Rasmus Kristensen or Maximilian Mittelstädt. Up front, I plan to replace Haris Tabaković with either Deniz Undav or Dzenan Pejcinovic.
  • I will commit to a 4-4-2 this week and push hard towards a top 1,500 finish, with the Second Chance league now my primary target. Good luck to everyone this round.

NOTES

  • At present, the planned moves are Edmond Tapsoba and David Raum out for Miro Muheim and another defensive option, alongside Christoph Baumgartner making way for Romano Schmid. There is also a possibility of upgrading Mio Backhaus to Péter Gulácsi.
  • Overall, the squad looks in a strong position, so the remainder of the team is likely to stay intact. That said, nothing is locked yet, with predicted line-ups set to play a key role in final decisions.
