Manchester City booked their place in the EFL Cup final with a 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday evening.

The Cityzens prevailed 5-1 on aggregate.

It means that City’s Gameweek 31 clash with Crystal Palace will be postponed. The EFL Cup final falls on the same weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s side and Palace won’t get a Double Gameweek 26, however, unlike Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A new date for Man City v Crystal Palace has yet to be announced. It’ll probably, but not definitely, fall in Double Gameweek 33/36.

The only way it could potentially stay in Gameweek 31 is if both sides are eliminated from Europe before the quarter-final stage or if City bow out of the FA Cup before the quarter-finals of that competition.

That could give Man City and Crystal Palace a free slot in early April:

Besides getting rid off Saka and Schade ofc.

    Roefs-Dubravka
    Gabriel-VanHecke-Tarkowski-(Dorgu-Gudmondssen).
    Saka-Cherki-Bruno-Rogers-Schade
    Haaland-Eki-(Guiu)

Saka to Rice probably. You’ll miss him in DGW 26.

Honestly I’d focus on your defense before Shade. Hill for Dorgu? Nice few fixtures for Bournemouth. Not into VH either really. Brighton seem to neither be keeping clean sheets nor bagging many goals. I’d hold onto Schade. Decent run of fixtures once he’s back from 27-35. And decent differential.

Im first in my league, i have Mbeumo everyone else behind me have Bruno.

At the moment I’m unsure who to captain btw Pedro, Enzo, Gabriel and Mbeumo, the chasers will most likely C Bruno…

Would you do a -4 to bring Bruno and making him Captain, for Mbeumo?

    Y o N?

Show me your team. If I were you I would almost certainly C Bruno to block them, but keep Mbeumo, even for a hit. I am planning to have both, without Saka, Palmer, Gordon. Watkins etc it should be affordable. Mbeumo was just unlucky in last game. His minutes look better now. There simply has to be better way.

    GW 25 locked

    Verbruggen
    Gabriel - Timber - Richards
    Palmer - Bruno F - Rogers - Mbeumo
    Watkins - Ekitike - Pedro

    John - Reinildo - Gudmundsson - Saka

    GW 26 - Saka + John ➡ Raya + Semenyo

    Thoughts? 🙂

      Decent for now.

Feel like doubling up on Rogers and Watkins is a tough one though. Can’t bank on them both hauling, and then you get stung when you put one on the bench. Would lose Watkins asap if I were you. Bowen or Thiago with his solid run of fixtures would be my bet if you’re staying away from robot.

Short to medium term. Is for a draft, presently have Buendia and Barnes but considering 'Jimmy' as an option.

I like Barnes as an option (particularly with Gordon going off injured last night) so am debating bring in Summerville for Buendia as I wonder if the latter has peaked.

I think I would get Mbeumo this week over Wirtz, but not bad idea. I am not sure about having Rice over Raya is the best idea. It's close however. Midfielders are easier to sell and buy depending on opposition. However players like Rice and Anderson are difficult to predict.

Kelleher has 3 double digit hauls, Dub only one. I can live and smile if Kelleher loses with 4 pts, but taking concecutive 9 points in the chin would affect me mentally 😉 I go with my gut now. Mathematically the difference with expected points is minimal again. However, starting Dubravka is objectively better choice 53/47% or something like that.

After last week (I started Dub) and watching Newcastle today, I am going to forget that Dub has/had 0.2 more expected points. Gordon screwed his hammy and if Wolte is not on the pitch, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelleher pen save and haul. Bowen will score a pen. Burnley may play home, but both are going to concede imo. If Dubravka beats Kelleher, so be it.

Yes, but has he improved so much that he can handle MCI? I am getting Mbeumo now. Better entry point. Next week is time to reassess or sell the injured mid for Wirtz/Semenyo. I have historically been burnt too often by making the "clever" long term transfer.

Pedro has very limited amount of good fixtures and higher haul potential. However, I own him and Kelleher, so with my luck J P blanks and Thiago hauls.

However, since you don't have 3 Arsenal, can you still do A next week without a hit if you get injury or two.

Wanted some more opinions on this. Which combo is better in preparation for DGW26?

    A) Raya & Hill
    B) Dúbravka & Saliba

Saliba is waste of Ars slot, so A. But I know nothing about Hill.

Waste? He's almost guaranteed a CS and some bonus points.

Should I bring Mbeumo in before the price rise?

I will. You never know when that 0.1 is going to be needed or you have to take a hit because of it. Esteve or VvD can get me 3 points from bench if he gets injured. And will we even know that in advance.

Anderson or Rogers to Mbeumo? (Selling Anderson blocks me from Guiu to Ekitike next week and means 3-5-2 formation for long term).

    Kelleher / Dub
Gabi, Timber, Andersen / VvD, Esteve
    Bruno, Rice, Enzo, Rogers*, Anderson*
    Haaland, J Pedro, Guiu
