The new Eliteserien Fantasy season continues, with Gameweek 3. Our contributors are here to share their early thoughts ahead of the upcoming deadline.

In this article, they reveal the teams, along with their captaincy choices, potential chip strategies, and the players they believe can make the biggest impact this week.

NOTES

  • I’ve activated the wildcard. I was mostly happy with my initial squad, but once Bodø/Glimt were confirmed to have a double in GW4, I didn’t like how the team was shaping up.
  • To prepare for the upcoming doubles and blanks, I’ve built a squad with 15 likely starters. Blanks are expected in GW8 and probably GW11, and possibly GW10 as well, so it feels important to stay flexible and cover multiple scenarios.
  • With Bodø/Glimt doubling in GW4 and GW6, along with a strong run of fixtures, tripling up feels like an easy call. The difficult part is choosing which three. A lot of their players appeal, but I’ve gone all-in on the attack with Kasper Høgh, Jens Petter Hauge, and Patrick Berg, especially with home games against Aalesund and Start looking high-scoring. I’ve also looked at drafts with one or even two defenders, and I like those too, so this could still change before the deadline.
  • Tromsø also have two doubles and have started the season strongly, so I’m sticking with the plan of going triple defence: Leo Cornic, Alexander Warneryd, and Tobias Guddal.
  • Lillestrøm double in GW4 and GW9, so I’ve tripled up there as well with Thomas Lehne Olsen, Lars Ranger, and Pontus Dahlberg.
  • The fourth team doubling in GW4 is Sarpsborg 08, so with Sondre Sørli and Claus Niyukuri, I can field a full XI of doublers. They also have a great fixture at home to Start this week.
  • Emil Breivik has started the season well, so I’m happy to keep him. Molde don’t appear to have any blanks on the horizon either, which makes him a solid long-term option.
  • Teodor Haltvik has been a bargain so far – a 5.0m midfielder playing up front. His minutes might not be secure long term, but right now it looks like his spot to lose.
  • Henrik Udahl also offers great value at 5.0m if he keeps his place, and he looks first choice for now. Hamarkameratene did bring in another striker during the break, but I don’t expect him to displace Udahl immediately.
  • I’ve gone with Jakob Pryts as my backup goalkeeper. Pontus Dahlberg is likely to blank in GW10 and/or GW11, while Pryts should cover those weeks. He also has a double in GW6 when Dahlberg face Bodø/Glimt.
  • The chip plan looks like Park the Bus in GW4 and likely Two Captains in GW6. If I’d gone with a slightly different structure – for example Daniel Karlsbakk instead of Henrik Udahl – I could have set up for Attack Attack in GW4 instead. Both options look strong that week.

NOTES

  • The blanks and doubles forced my hand, so I’ve activated the wildcard. I’m setting up for Attack Attack in GW4 and Park the Bus in GW6, and the squad reflects that.
  • I’m still debating a couple of moves. I could switch Dahl and Lars Ranger to Eric Kitolano and Tobias Guddal. It’s close, but the rest of the team feels locked.
  • Good luck all.

NOTES

  • A poor GW2 and a red arrow after benching Alexander Warneryd, but we move. GW3 arrives and the wildcard is active. In goal, I’m on Pontus Dahlberg and Jakob Pryts. This pairing gives me a double in all three DGWs we know so far, all for just 9.0m. I could drop Pryts to a 4.0m option and bench every week, but only if I need the extra 0.5.
  • In defence, I’ve gone all-in on Bodø/Glimt and Tromsø. Every defender comes from those two sides. With both doubling in GW4 and GW6, it keeps things flexible for chip strategy. The plan remains Attack Attack in GW4 and Park the Bus in GW6. On top of that, these players offer strong attacking threat and clean sheet potential.
  • In midfield, I’ve gone a bit cheaper but kept the focus on doubles. Eric Kitolano from Lillestrøm and Sondre Sørli from Sarpsborg 08 both come in for their DGW in GW4, although I’m not fully locked on those spots yet.
  • Emil Breivik stays for his excellent fixtures and strong start – goals in both matches so far. Then it’s budget enablers. Teodor Haltvik continues after scoring in both games at just 5.0m, while Hammer fills a bench role. He starts, but I won’t rely on him unless things go wrong. Up front, I’ve invested heavily. Kasper Høgh, Daniel Karlsbakk, and Thomas Lehne Olsen lead the line. All three double in GW4 and speak for themselves – each one acts as the main goal threat for their club. Captaincy feels straightforward this week. It goes to Høgh.
  • Good luck everyone!

NOTES

  • While most are wildcarding, I’ve stuck with two transfers this week. I’ve brought in Kasper Høgh, selling Dino Islamovic and Elias Sørensen in the process.
  • Captaincy moves straight to Kasper Høgh. He scored 17 goals last season and looks like a top asset, especially with two Double Gameweeks coming up.
  • With the Blank Gameweek out of the way, Thomas Lehne Olsen comes back into the starting XI. That opening-day brace already justified the move, even with the blank before the break.
