Weds team news: O’Reilly in midfield, Rayan on the bench

Double Gameweek 33, the largest of this Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season, is about to conclude with two matches involving lots of currently popular assets: Bournemouth v Leeds United, and Burnley v Manchester City.

Both kick off at 20:00 BST.

TEAM NEWS

FPL notes: “Amazing” Rayan, £4.2m goalkeeper starts + Summerville scores again

Apart from Burnley’s three adjustments that bring Josh Laurent, Bashir Humphreys and Loum Tchaouna in for Marcus Edwards, Lesley Ugochukwu and Florentino Luis, there are very few changes to the lineups.

In fact, by replacing the slightly injured Rodri with Rayan Ait-Nouri, Man City have seemingly moved Nico O’Reilly into central midfield.

That’s their only change, as Bournemouth’s one alteration brings in David Brooks for Rayan.

Opponents Leeds have the same XI from Saturday’s 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Therefore, centre-back Joe Rodon begins on the bench.

Following Chelsea’s shock Tuesday team news, FPL owners should be pleased to see starts for Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, Marcus Tavernier, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, James Justin, Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Marcos Senesi and James Hill.

      I don’t mind them but need to review the threshold. People mowed for a long time that DM’s were irrelevant picks and needed to be rewarded through defensive contributions. Should mint be given to defender also imo considering they already get 4 points for a clean sheet versus one for a midfielder. Either remove from defenders or increase to 15 and leave the 12 for midfield

        I thought it was to make defensive mids relevant picks though. They had no use in the game otherwise. Defenders already have more routes to points, I don’t think they should get it so easily

        Loving Defcons. It’s made the game so much more interesting and opened up the pool of players who are worthy of consideration for our teams.
        There’s been seasons gone by where there’s very little room to differentiate and we all had basically the same 10 players in our squads.
        Now I see a nice variety and when I look at teams to pick from, there are a lot more names jumping out at me.
        Love it! Don’t change it at all imo

          I agree.. It allows the pool of possible squad players to be larger and encourages differing tactics and selections, unlike in previous years where everyone gravitated to the main points scorers, haaland, salah etc.
