As we head into Round 31 of Saudi Fantasy, our experts are here to reveal their teams, break down their transfer plans, and explain the thinking behind their moves.

@DrWaleedKhokhar

NOTES

  • Round 30 delivered 87 points – a small green arrow keeps me hovering around the 4k mark overall.
  • DGW31 is here, and it’s all about the big three: Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli.
  • I made two free transfers: Ivan Toney makes way for Karim Benzema, while Roger Ibañez is replaced by Jorge Fernández to avoid the suspension risk.
  • Fernando Pacheco starts in goal, with Zaid on the bench.
  • At the back, Moteb Al Harbi, Abulelah Al Amri, and Fernández get the nod, while Al Bawardi and Shanqiti provide cover from the bench.
  • All five midfielders start: Kostas Fortounis, Rúben Neves, Julian Quinones, João Félix, and Yannick Carrasco.
  • Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema lead the line, with Al Sharfa benched.
  • The Two Captain chip is active – currently torn between Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

NOTES

  • 113 points last round and a green arrow up to 1.5k overall.
  • Five free transfers used to optimise the squad for the double, with one eye firmly on fixtures through to the end of the season.
  • Ivan Toney’s suspension forced a bit of a reshuffle, but I’m still moving on Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s an excellent option, no doubt, but spreading those funds strengthens the team overall. Plus, Al Nassr face Al Hilal after the double and then blank, which isn’t ideal.
  • The moves:
  • Mohamed Simakan to Roger Ibañez
  • Nacho Fernández to Theo Hernández
  • Julián Quiñones to Yannick Carrasco
  • Alexandre Lacazette to Joshua King
  • Cristiano Ronaldo to Karim Benzema
  • That leaves me with nine doublers, including a double-up on Al Ettifaq’s attack at home to Al Najma.
  • Captaincy is still to be confirmed, but it’s currently leaning towards Karim Benzema.

NOTES

  • My potential transfers include:
  • Milan Borjan to Edouard Mendy/Bounou/Marcelo Grohe
  • Al Somah to Al Brikan/Marcos Leonardo
  • Fabio Martins to Valentin Atangana/Salem Al Dawsari/Josh Brownhill/Malcom/Giorgos Masouras
  • Andrei Girotto to Ali Majrashi/Saad Al Balobaid
  • Karim Benzema to Abderrazak Hamdallah/Cristiano Ronaldo
  • Iñigo Martínez to Yusuf Akçiçek
  • Captaincy options:
  • Cristiano Ronaldo
  • João Félix/Sadio Mané /Kingsley Coman
  • Joshua King

NOTES

  • This week, I’ll be captaining Cristiano Ronaldo, who I expect to deliver against Al Qadsiah and Al Shabab, both of whom have looked weak defensively.
  • The forward line remains the main concern in the squad, so I’m considering bringing in Franck Kessié or Giorgos Masouras in place of Julián Quiñones. That move should leave me with 10 players featuring twice in the double gameweek.

NOTES

  • Here we go again – a massive DGW that could completely reshape the season.
  • Last round didn’t go to plan. 65 points isn’t where you want to be at this stage, especially with the finish line in sight. That said, there’s no time to dwell on it. With just four rounds remaining and a double gameweek in front of us, this is exactly the moment to take risks and push for something bigger.
  • Playing it safe won’t move the needle, so I’m going aggressive, even if it means taking hits. Right now, rank matters more than perfection.
  • The current plan looks like this: moving on Danilo Pereira, Mohammed Mahzari, Sadio Mané, and Ivan Toney, with Ahmed Al Shanqiti, Al Amri, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ivan Toney coming in.
  • Captaincy is still up in the air, but I’m leaning towards a differential – potentially Milinković-Savić.
  • Let’s see how it plays out. Good luck everyone, and hopefully the DGW delivers.
