• If you read last week’s team reveal, you’ll know I made a late decision to take an additional four-point hit. Once I realised I had enough money, I upgraded Wilfred George Igor to Emil Breivik and dropped Henrik Udahl to the bench. Thankfully, the move paid off immediately, with the points covering both hits.
• My original plan this week was to roll the transfer. However, Amin Chiakha picked up an injury in training and now faces a race to be fit. If he misses out, I’ll struggle to field a full starting XI.
• Ideally, I would have replaced Chiakha with either Niklas Castro or Heine Åsen Larsen. Unfortunately, neither has a fixture this week. Instead, I’ll sell Simen Rafn for Martin Gjone and move Mathias Grundetjern to the bench as cover for Chiakha. The move also strengthens my defence ahead of next week, when my Bodø/Glimt defenders don’t have a fixture.
• Zlatko Tripić remains the most consistent player in the game. I have no interest in betting against him, so he’ll wear the captain’s armband once again. Unless something changes, I expect that to remain the case for several more Gameweeks.
• Tromsø and Brann both blank this week, while Bodø/Glimt and Start sit out in Gameweek 18. That schedule could force some managers into activating their second Wildcard. I’m hoping to hold mine until Gameweek 20. However, if more issues crop up before next week’s deadline, I may have to use it earlier. Ideally, I’d also like to keep it through Gameweek 19, as the transfer window closes before the Gameweek 20 deadline.

NOTES

• With the final Blank Gameweek approaching, I’m happy to leave my squad unchanged this week.
• Rolling the transfer gives me three free transfers to attack next week’s fixture swing, so patience feels like the right approach. Zlatko Tripić keeps the captain’s armband. He’s been the standout captaincy option for much of the season, and I see no reason to back against him again.
• The extra transfer will also help me prepare for the Blank Gameweek. My plan is to upgrade three of my bench players, giving me enough depth to absorb Bodø/Glimt’s blank without weakening my starting XI too much.

• This Gameweek looks relatively straightforward, with plenty of teams enjoying favourable fixtures.
• I’ll roll the transfer, use at least two free transfers next week to navigate Bodø/Glimt’s blank, then look to roll again before activating my Wildcard in Gameweek 20.
• Andreas Helmersen no longer looks like a guaranteed starter after dropping to the bench in both Europe and the league. He could return to the XI this weekend due to rotation, so I’m happy to give him one more chance before making a decision.
• The captaincy stays with Zlatko Tripić. There isn’t much more to say. He continues to deliver week after week and remains the standout captaincy option.
