If you want a good run of 5 games with a pen taker he's the one. It's template for a reason.

Do you think there is enough of a difference to go with the more expensive option?

Groß over Gomez. 8th attacker, only played once in the first 5 weeks.
    KDH over Ndiaye/Le Fee?

The money would sit in the bank and allow me some flexibility on early moves

KDH is a significantly better option than Ndiaye. Le Fee is fine when the fixtures are there. Prefer Groß over Gomez but not that much.

Four of the last five team reveals:

All have: Grob, Bruno, Mbuemo, Haaland, JPedro, DCL, at least one Arsenal Defensive Player
    Three have: Szob, Kinsky

Has it really come down to about two different players in the starting 11 for content? This doesn't feel like useful or interesting content any more - it feels like people talking about 90% of an optimised xPts team and their ever so slight variation to the theme for their remaining low cost and therefore low risk player.

My opinion of course, it may not represent others'.

If anything it shows a concensus of people who'll be likely followed by many playing the game competitively - which gives you two choices, follow the herd to begin with, avoid any risk - or be bold and potentially gain or lose massively.

Personally I've got 4 drafts sitting open and I'm most liking the one with neither Haaland or Bruno, a full rock-solid team all ripe for a GW1 bench boost! 😀 Even then there's the likes of Saka, Palmer, Isak, Thiago causing "Do I/don't I"? questions, all have huge potential as relatively low-ownership differentials...

    A) Start Ballard and then sell him for Jacquet in gwk 3 when Sunderland's fixtures turn
    B) Avoid the need to make a transfer and start Jacquet from gwk 1 but miss Sunderland's relatively easier fixtures
    C) Start Mbeumo and then move to Semenyo when Sesko is fit again
    D) Avoid the need to make a transfer and just play Semenyo from gwk 1

    Pick a combo:

    1) A and C
    2) A and D
    3) B and C
    4) B and D

    1. Im on B and D

Debating an early BB or waiting to see how things plan out. Putting a cheaper bench to start allows a strong 11 with Bruno and Haaland and plenty of room to pivot and give best chance of avoiding early WC. Thoughts ?

    1. theluckiest
      • 17 Years

Could work out yeah and as you say you can just have bench fodder to build a stronger 11. Personally I'm bench boosting week 1 as I find it a pain in the arse planning for them later in the season, so quite glad to just get it out of the way!

      1. Ajax Hamsterdam
        • 12 Years

But I also start to see the argument for an early WC especially with some of the fixtures. Particularly Brighton v a deplated villa side. And Ipswich home to Sunderland. Shaw at hull. Sangare debut etc

        1. Ohh1454
          • 8 Years
          just now

Yeah and you could argue as good as you set up your team (in your head anyways) an early WC is always a possibility so as mentioned just getting it out of the way could be way to go. Coventry playing Hulm at home in GW2 a big selling point I guess

The advantage with Mbeumo though is that he's 8m and will allow you to move to several other cheaper options if they start smashing it, even if they increase in price.

i am seeing alot of people go szobo and wirtz but gakpo (until barcola) could be a real option if he stays. I also like tels at 6m. of course if gakpo goes to spurs this creates another issue but could both have high upside for first couple weeks. gakpo of back of good WC and showed form in pre-season. obviously this is based on early BB and wildcard GW6

Binning off Shaw based on comments here (a cheap Man U defender looked good in the back line but the reality is there are better options at the price!)

Already have Robertson who's looking a fair punt so I'm wondering about Brighton and De Cuyper vs Kadioglu, any preference?

Quite like the look of a double up with Ode and Tzolis but my head is telling me to go with Schade instead of Ode. Thoughts?

Depends on what kind of manager you are and your appetite for risk.

Either all in on Arsenal, or spread the risk, and go for Schade. Up to you bruv 🙂

No bruno draft, too risky without Bruno? BB1

    Verbruggen
    Calafiori, White, Maguire
    Semenyo, Szobo, Mbeumo, GroB
    Haaland, Isak, Pedro

    Kinsky, Hume, Gomez, Shaw

I think Bruno will feast in 1 and 2 and then drop off, prefer to start with and sell later

Nice, I’m also considering going without Bruno.

      Mbeumo should do well

    Lammens Kinsky
    Calafiori Muharemovic Vuskovic Palestra O'Nien
    Bruno Wirtz Tzolis Mbeumo Semenyo
    Isak Pedro DCL

    .5itb

Would you downgrade anywhere to put more money on the pitch? Get Thiago for DCL

Because he's not good? Or at least hasn't been for a long while. Maybe Fake Pep can awaken him, who knows.

Quite liking the new average % finish stat over previous seasons. Interesting way of seeing how people in your mini-leagues actually stack up over the long term.

Mine is 6% over 12 seasons, which I’ll take!

What are people on here averaging, and over how many seasons?

Ooh hadn't seen that, last season was my worst ever at 28%! Typically as I went into a big work league for money. 😐 Average 12% but have a 0.0%, 0.5% and 0.6% in there so just need to focus this year! 😀

Mine's not the greatest averaging 3% over 11 seasons...
