SUMMARY
Erling Haaland leads our Gameweek 1 attacking projections, with 0.85 projected goals + assists against Bournemouth. At £15.5m, the Manchester City forward takes up a huge chunk of the budget. However, his goal threat and captaincy potential could justify that investment from the start.
Just behind him sits Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m) on 0.76. Manchester United travel to newly promoted Hull City, giving their attackers an appealing opening fixture. Penalties, set pieces and creativity give Fernandes several routes to returns. Teammate Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) also ranks highly on 0.69, and looks set to start up front for Michael Carrick’s side.
One of the more interesting names near the top is Christos Tzolis (£6.5m). His 0.72 projection puts him third overall ahead of Arsenal’s home meeting with Coventry City. At that price, he could offer managers a cheaper route into one of Gameweek 1’s most attractive fixtures.
Liverpool’s favourable early schedule also brings Alexander Isak (£9.0m) into the conversation. He completes the top five with a 0.66 projection. That puts him ahead of several premium midfielders and makes him an interesting alternative up front.
Beyond the leading five, Morgan Gibbs-White (£8.0m) sits on 0.62 and Kai Havertz (£7.5m) on 0.60. Martin Ødegaard (£6.5m) and Cole Palmer (£9.5m) both come in at 0.57. Manchester City pair Antoine Semenyo (£8.5m) and Phil Foden (£7.0m) follow closely on 0.53.
