Everton take on Manchester United in the penultimate fixture of Gameweek 3.

Kick-off at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is at 14:00 BST.

TEAM NEWS

Man Utd’s head coach, Michael Carrick, has unsurprisingly named an unchanged side after the victory over Ipswich Town last week.

Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, Marcus Rashford and Bryan Mbeumo, the most-transferred out player of Gameweek 3, are all starting.

Mason Mount is fit enough to take his place on the bench.

As for Everton boss David Moyes, he makes only one alteration from Gameweek 2.

Brennan Johnson comes in to replace Iliman Ndiaye following his move to Manchester City.

Deadline day arrivals Jack Grealish and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are both substitutes.

LINE-UPS

Everton XI: Pickford, Rohl, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Armstrong, Garner, Johnson, Dewsbury-Hall, George, Barry

Subs: Travers, Maitland-Niles, Keane, Grealish, O’Brien, Dibling, Alcaraz, Hackney, Graham

Manchester United XI: Lammens, Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw, Tielemans, Mainoo, Mbeumo, Fernandes, Rashford, Cunha

Subs: Darlow, Heaven, Mazraoui, Yoro, Santos, Dorgu, Mount, Sesko, Zirkzee

I’d want to see how Brightin handle Europe before committing to them. Not sure you need 3 Chelsea in attack either. And Dedic looked poor yesterday with Livramento coming back

When did Garner become a better asset than KDH?

    1. Admiral Benson

      1 hour, 5 mins ago

Not that much in it tbf.

Both will score similar total points (just checked it was 151 vs 159 last year). But Garner gets his a steady stream of 4 pointers with DC’s whereas KDH gets one haul + 3 blanks. So assuming you don’t want to waste transfers on your 4th or 5th midfielder, better to just have the slow drip of points.

Garner on pens is like a mini Anderson when at Forest

    3. H Dog
      • 16 Years
      1 hour, 1 min ago

Garner 0.5 cheaper, which helps if trying to get a team of Haaland/Bruno/Palmer

DEFcons more reliable than KDH, takes corners and free kicks, although KDH could be on pens (likely Barry but until they get one that potential is there)

Only worry is his injury, suspect it will take a few weeks for Garner to return to his best, particularly when his points come from his all round play, so maybe better GW5 onwards etc

    4. Brosstan
      • 12 Years

Since people decided with very little evidence that hes on penalties. If they are correct hes better than KDH, if they are wrong hes not

Free hit GW4 with this team?

    Lammens (Kinsky)
    Cala, Muha, Thomas (Ajer, Hume)
    Bruno, Mbuemo, Szob, Elanga (Grimes)
    Haaland, JP, DCL

I prefer 5 if unless youre thinking WC then

      FH5 would be
      Forest home Cov
      Newc home Hull
      Everton home Ips
      Man C home Sund

If i FH4 id only want 2 Liv; Isak, Vvd and three Chelsea and maybe one Palace

For GW4 Bruno to Palmer. Dcl to Isak

Then RaGe WC in 5 when it all goes pear shape

Funny how much outlook can change after a GW. I was so sure I wanted Wissa, but then he blanked and played deeper V B'Mouth. Now hes just meh

    1. I think the trick is to let one GW affect your judgement though, in both ways - after a haul or disappointing blank

This is the problem with early season decisions. After GW1, the most recent GW is 100% of your information. After GW2 it's 50%, and this round is still 33% if all our information. Most changes based on output from this little data are fairly knee-jerky (obvious exceptions like injuries, benchings, system changes apply)

If it's on a WC, I wouldn't go Ajer with the rest of that defence. Your going to bench him every week presumably (along with Barry and Egan?) so no short term benefit to really be gained, and he's likely to lose his spot in the medium term when Collins and VanDenBerg are both fit. Why book in a transfer? Either take a more nailed 4.5, or even take Thomas to rack up defcon if he comes on from the bench.

      1. Old Bull
        • 13 Years

It’s not a WC. Ajer has played really well so I don’t think it’s a given that he will lose that spot. I take your point though that it’s a possibility, so one to monitor.

Doesn't feel like that's enough for a FH. I'd just suck up the fact that you don't have Isak, but if you desperately want him you could do Cherki>(eg)Slater, DCL>Isak for a -4

      Keep the FH
      Get isak
Haaland will bag goals this derby minimum 1 goal 1 assist if not 2 goals against the poor utd defence. City midfielders will overrun mainoo and tielemans

Would need to do a -4 to get to him

Annoying because I am .1 short of DCL to Isak in 1 FT

On a different note, it doesnt feel like Hull are a team to target against their defence? Ipswich and Fulham maybe better?

Yep thinking this, hence wanting Isak

Hull should have conceded 4+ goals against 3 poor sides

Should have, but didn't. Just like their expected numbers last season. Almost like an actual pattern rather than fluke luck...

Hull are going to get absolutely shoe'd by someone, think it will be Chelsea.

Which combo is the best on a wildcard?

    A) Raya - Barnes - Isak
    B) Verbruggen - Saka - Wissa
