In their first match since the guilty verdict on their financial misconduct charges, Manchester City take on Liverpool at Anfield.

Prior to the international break, Enzo Maresca’s men secured a 5-3 win over Sunderland, a result that preserved their perfect start to the season.

Liverpool remain unbeaten, too, but have won only two of their first five matches, drawing the other three.

Kick-off is at 16:30 BST.

TEAM NEWS

Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola makes three changes from Gameweek 5.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak miss out due to injury.

Szoboszlai has reportedly picked up a hamstring issue.

Ryan Gravenberch, Victor Munoz and Lewis Koumas come into the side.

As for Man City, Nico O’Reilly is in for Josko Gvardiol, who drops to the bench.

Antoine Semenyo is fit to start, despite his exit from the Ghana squad over the international break.

Phil Foden remains suspended.

Total capitulation by Liverpool, they should take a leaf out of Spurs book and see how they responded to going a man down

The point that all these commentators are missing is that the ££££ cheating for years has built this base team, that's been built on continually.

Most still ignoring facts in TV world.

Pool spended 500 millions for one transfer window last year.

Ferguson won all titles collecting best players from the league without fair play...

Will they go to jail then?

The reason that Man City are still so dominant is because of their constant financial cheating since 2009.

And, what should the consequences be?

        Out of the football league????

        1. Transfer ban for the same number of years they abused and a fine equatable to their earnings from domestic titles for that time.

That would be my recommendation, whether that’s worse than demotion I don’t know.

          1. Fifa las vegas
            • 14 Years

I think it’s definitely not worse than demotion. Transfer ban for a number of years, although that hardly makes a whole pile of difference to them if they remain in the Prem with the squad they already have.

Does a fine really matter to them?

            1. They have been found guilty for at least 7 years - by the end of that term they’d be pure grass roots fed with a transfer ban.

The fine would be huge, think of all those prem, FA cup, league cup and champions league titles to pay the earnings back from (which is the amount the fine would be)

This is why 3, 4 division demotion counts

The squad all leaves at that point

              1. Would they though? Remember they have the money to pay them whatever they want

Sane, Laporte, Stones, Walker, Sterling, Gundogan, Yaya Toure, B.Silva, D.Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero. Just some of the players who joined City during its multi-year 'spending spree'. I think it's clear we would have seen some much different finishes for City had it followed the rules, I support the points deduction over multiple years along with some sort of transfer ban
