This evening we roll out the first in a series of membersβ articles that look back over each individual team from the 2014/15 campaign. Starting with Arsenal, we assess the top ten goal threats and chief creators in a season that saw the Gunners clinch third spot in the Premier League after finishing on 75 points, 12 behind title-winners Chelsea.
Arsenal Miss Out on Vermaelen Bonus After He's Forced to Return Champions League Medal
According to European football's governing body's rules, a player can only receive a Champions League medal if he has appeared in the competition during the season.
http://www.90min.com/posts/2245265-arsenal-miss-out-on-vermaelen-bonus-after-he-s-forced-to-return-champions-league-medal?utm_source=RSSFeel bad for Claudio Bravo, 1st choice in La Liga all season but no Champions League medal.
Anyone watching the womens world cup. I haven't yet but I might watch the England game later. What is the quality like?
Not too bad, probably around League 1/2 standard. The poor quality of keeping lets the game down imo.
I'd bet my savings on Sheffield United hammering any of the women's teams.
You're joking right?
Poor, but to be expected. Entertaining though.
Got to support our girls though
I saw half of Germany v Ivory Coast, Germany looked good but it was impossible to judge, Ivory Coast were like a primary school team.
League 1 for the most part. Some are a bit better, some are a lot worse.
It's a decent watch though as it's a WCYeah. Competetive games are always worth a watch like the play offs
Aye this is it. They don't need to be top standard for the games to be good.
Any men's club side would beat them. I'm talking amateur as well. Good skills in fairness though.
Missed last season. Didn't see much football last season. Feeling out of it. Want to get right back into it.
How do i start?Well I am sure a template will appear before the season starts. That would be a safe place. You can check out last seasons stats for players you do not know as well.
Membership would prob help
Noted. Thanks bud.
Welcome back LR. Coming back on here is the perfect start.
Hello. Taking an hour out to read a few articles. Any tips from this season?
No great revelations for me, although I tried a few experiments last year. Can't say I found anything startling - but then again it was a year where the template was easy to achieve without too many funds, which made significant rank change difficult. I'm kind of hoping this won't be the case next year.

Welcome back.Ola GB. Gracias.
Welcome back mate. Just a few I've learnt this season
- If you can't watch games (which is sometimes hard due to timezones) at least watch extended highlights
- Being a member helps
- If you have 2FT don't be scared to not use any if you don't have to
- Always try and conserve your WC unless you 100% must use it
- Never use transfers on payers you are benching, just save and make the move next week if you must
- Try find a good defensive rotation that will save transfers in defence till the Jan WC
- Try and get your friends/colleagues to play in a ML, makes it all the more fun!Prices moved slower and were less accurately predicted by the price change sites so playing to increase your budget became harder. Other than that it's the same old game that you know and love π
Hazard is a BAP god, Azpi is a BAP demi-god, Man U defence was amazingly reliant on De Gea, Arsenal defenders an option now Coquelin in the team (even more so if someone else is bought), Silva has turned into a goal scorer, Sanchez is a beast, Fabregas will only perform in the first half of a season, Costa hates BAPS and was lucky to avoid more suspensions, Europa league kills teams, don't get Remy or Moreno. π
Thanks all.
So Danny Ings then. Not quite good enough to be the striker Liverpool need and just to be a squad player? Or do you think he will prove himself as first choice?
Aspas levels =)
Bebe's underlying stats in La Liga this season were a fair bit better than Aspas' , and Bebe had to play for the worst team in the league, while Aspas was at one of the best π
Aspas started like 4 games... (not that I don't think he's crap)
And when he was playing for a craps team he got 12 goals and 7 assists (I don't think he's craps just average. Good for a mid table team in top flight.)
And made 12 sub appearances, and sub effects boost /90 stats as do playing in a better team. He is kack and only ever played well in the Spanish championship
To be fair to him I think he's decent and he's young, the not wanting to take that penalty worries me, but at best 3rd choice and for a squad player he wasn't really needed, we have Origi and Jerome Sinclair needs to start getting games.
I hope he can prove himsef to be decent there. Going from first choice to benchwarmer is a bit of a shame for a young man
Well 3rd choice at Liverpool basically means defacto 2nd choice. π I hope he proves us wrong because I'm a Liverpool fan, but I don't think he's needed and would worry massively if he's intended to be 2nd choice out and out. :I
He is one for now and many years to come. I doubt origi and Sinclair are ready to be relied on at the top level the way ings is. One or both should go out on loan.
Doubt he will rot on the bench with sturridges injuries. He'll get chances
True enough. Sturridge is just a walking (or limping) injury problem unfortunately.
Yup. The season before last gives me a glimmer of hope though
I hope I am wrong but I think he will never be injury free for an extended period. He is just that kind of player
Yeah. π rvp was too mind and managed to put it behind him in his peak.
Has years ahead of him. Impressed me a lot last season in a very defensive Burnley team. Underrated and better than Austin and ulloa (guys that made a bigger splash with promoted teams) imo. At worst a should be a handy squad player, potentially could be more. Rodgers is a very good manager for developing young players too.
Ola you. How was last season? Few things i should look out for? (BTW, i still listen to Organ Donor on loop multiple times)
Hey stranger π looking forward to your banter next season.
Good man, classic album innit!
It's like riding a bike mate you'll be straight back into it. My only advice is as always avoid the ffs pre season template.Noted. Thanks.
- 2014/15 Scout prediction successes and failures
Greenwindmill has just been looking back at The Scout's seasons predictions.
http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/08/14/seasons-predictions-201415-the-view-from-the-scouts/
Nice to see many of the team's predictions of Hazard being top points scorer getting mocked. π
http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/08/14/seasons-predictions-201415-the-view-from-the-scouts/?hc_page=4#hc_comment_7886623I thought it'd be Rooney by the way. Doh!
Best differential: Adebayor
LOLBriefly, oh so briefly he was a good pick!
He got me 12 points in GW2!
He was my pick too,
to be fair how on earth could we know he would decide to take a sabbatical the whole season and then Kane become pretty much a god.
Ahh back come the Costa > Adebayor memories of GW 3...
Lol at Innsie π
From 5k > 120k in one week π
Siem de Jong best differential.
Nice Granny.
lolGranville did good there imo
Morale of Story, Listen to Roscolo... Pretty solid on most predictions.
Lewis Holtby aside of course.
Not bad from Evs.
Note worst signing π"Overall Top Points Scorer: Robin Van Persie"
"Top Goalscorer: Robin Van Persie"
That duvet is old and full of holes. Get rid mateI can't believe anyone would go for RVP. Everyone could see he was finished after the World Cup!

Chelsea to launch £30m bid for Gonzalo Higuain - The Telegraph
Would make him and Costa a no go then..... Would much rather him go to United or Arsenal to give us an option
He was firmly second choice under Mourinho at Madrid, and no way would they pay £30m for a 27 year old second choice striker, nor would Higuain be happy being second choice again.
How much did he pay for Felipe Luis? He barely got a look in last year
True, but I'm sure Luis was bought to be first choice.
Not sure about that.
Rotated with Benz for sure, less first choice in the latter parts but started 35 games in 11/12 and 28 in 12/13 all in the league.Injuries would have played a part, and the squad was rotated when playing against weaker opposition, but Higuain was definitely behind Benzema, and rightly so.
So you think him getting 35 and then 28 games wont impact on Costa when Jose plays with one striker?
Of course he will!
rotation ahoy... makes both options weakerNo, it certainly would impact on Costa if it happened, my point was that this is grade A transfer rumour nonsense!
Higuain is linked to everybody under the sun seemingly every window, and I don't think he's even that good!Ah, well i agree on both fronts there.
Damn, I was all fired up and ready for an argument... π

- New article posted
Steve McLaren. What does that mean for Newcastles potential? Frankly Newcastle cannot be worse this year. Could they be a source of potential bargains?

1st members article of the season(at least that I have noticed) guess I had better fork out the cash then.
