The final week of the August transfer window gave new QPR owner Tony Fernandes plenty chance to splash the cash and he didn’t fail to disappoint. There’s no doubt Neil Warnock’s side have strengthened substantially over the last couple of weeks and last season’s Championship winners will approach an upcoming kind run of games with renewed confidence.

Despite the acquisition of Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips, it’s Adel Taarabt who blinks loudest on our Fantasy radars and as a result, the Moroccan ranks high on the Watchlist. He may have returned just 9 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points so far this season, but Taarabt has been a threat throughout and is a little unlucky not to have picked up more substantial hauls. He’s had more goal attempts than any QPR player- his tally is just one shot less than David Silva- and has also hit the woodwork as well as creating the same number of goal scoring opportunities as the likes of Charlie Adam.

The clincher here is his set-piece duties; Barton’s arrival will give Warnock’s side a quality corner kick taker but Taarabt -priced at 6.5 in FPL- still looks nailed-on for direct free-kicks and penalties and looks likely to offer a greater attacking potential than any of his team mates.

QPR may have scored just one goal so far this campaign but the increase in quality arrivals should make them a different proposition altogether. If Warnock’s new-look side are to beat the drop, they will need to replicate the sort of form that saw them make Loftus Road something of a fortress last season. With four home games in the next six-(NEW, wol, AVL, ful, BLA, CHE)- Fernandes will be hoping his August investment is about to prove dividend.

Got stuck on last page, trying again:
In a bit of a pickle- choose not to WC due to the fact that Ive been doing allright and didnt need that much change. Log in one week later (no internet in my new flat) only to find that half my team is crocked (Baines, Zamora, Bent, Given) and Malouda & Zamora have dropped 0.4 between them! On top of that, I have malouda who I wanted to ship out this week (for Adam, glad I kept my cool on that one), an underperforming O’Hara and Moses with a rough fixture list to complete my midfield!
Any advice is welcome – full team in link. Feels not worth wildcarding but cant justify my one double transfer I want to make this week; Malouda & Zamora to Arteta & Odemwingie. Also hes still a bit of a doubt!

    Thanks!

I think your team is very solid, defence is near perfect - assuming that Baines isn't seriously injured.

If you can, I'd try to get Walcott instead of Arteta, possibly by going for someone like Long or Bendtner over Odemwingie?

Good call..Bendtner could be a very cheap and useful differential...

        Thanks for input jamie,
I like the idea of Bendtner, I really do - just not sure about Sunderland going forward! Walcott is injured, no? Anyway I like arteta more I think, walcott is too hit & miss for me!
A lot of talk of adebayor as well - worth a punt maybe?

Dont worry about ohara or Moses. They rotate well and that's why Moses has tough fixtures (wolves have good ones!) And they're both showing signs that they have to start scoring soon.

I am also keeping Baines for now, he might play but not worth transferring him out for 4 pt hit because who can you bring in who is likely to do really well this week? (so worse case scenario you have a bench player coming on but keep those 4 pts.)

I'd get rid of bent and zamora to start.

Thanks for reply. Bent is a big differential in my
mini league - also think he is going to do well under tge new bonus system, who would you want instead? Suarez?

Problem with judging taarabt based on his number of shots is he shoots from some pretty random places. I remember the same being said about kolarov last season again and again and again!

True, but Adel does play on the wing or 'in the hole' - I personally think he will be the player to benefit the most from the new signings. Hitting the woodwork twice also means his shots are quite dangerous, regardless of where they are taken from!

Yeah he's a good player and will score but the number of shots are definitely misleading.

Put it this way I could go and play for qpr and shoot everytime the ball got nr me. It wouldn't mean you should buy me on fpl!

Well i used my wild card t'other week n made my sub for this week. Still feedback would be nice

    Kenny (Vorm)

Kompany S Taylor Enrique Bosingwa (R Taylor)

Young Jarvis Silva(v) (moses N Dyer)

    Rooney(c) Suarez Dzeko

Team value 100.7mill with 1.5mill spare (has to be up there with some of the most expensive).

Any thoughts? Daren't go without rooney as capt.

Would not double up on Newc. defense. Maybe upgrade Kenny to a better goalkeeper like Given.

Both Ncastle defenders are attacking. R Taylor may get dropped now as a result of santon signing.

Going to be watching the arsenal game intently this weekend. Whoever does better out of benayoun and arteta will be in for moses and cheap fodder in for kompany

Average. Too reliant on Messi and Sneijder won't be as prolific without Eto'o I reckon.

not poss with 0 in bank, as he'll lose value on Rooney to RVP and Silva is more than Nas. With those strikers (i have the same) I'd wait a week and see. You have Arteta for Arse cover.

    looking at basically

    D) Play with 5 defenders and go santos+ de gea
    my side is currently
